I'm on google talk right now...without the client it's basically just the same as AIM. I'm using gaim for this. There are plenty of tutorials for how to configure your client to get on...I recommend trying out digg.com and looking for the google talk threads. If you're interested in talking, IM me @ alexpelan(at)gmail(dot)com

The Google Talk is pretty nice. It's very clean. It docks itself onto the right side of the screen and all of the conversations are side by side. It's very nice and organized. You can talk to me at jdkane527@gmail.com.

Also, while reading the Google Talk FAQ, I came across some Gmail invites. Now Google is giving away Gmail accounts... (Well, they're inviting people.)

I'm really happy now. I just double clicked the top bar of Google Talk, lo and behold, it merged into my Google Desktop sidebar! :D I couldn't ask for more.

in case anyone wants to use the google talk with trillian, GAIM, iChat (im using trillian so it is the only thing i have tested) or something else basically you need to setup a connection as like you are logging on to a jabber server. The server is talk.google.com use your gmail login and password....feel free to test by msgin me =) skowski@gmail.com
