WEEK 9 RESULTS
Koko's X-Cats(6-3) 91.47 Cooney Quest(2-7) 57.41
The X-Cats easily disposed of the Quest. You know things are looking bad for you when Joey Harrington is all you got.
Steve McNair got outscored by Harrington 24.90 to 20.97 but he had more help from the Chicago Bears defense with 16 points, Julius Peppers with 13.50 points and Paul Ediunger with 10 points.

Jc's Evil Empire(6-3)105.35 [ COLOR=Navy]Fiesty Clowns(5-4)97.80
Whomever can get anything good out of their quarterback (or at least inflicts the least damage to their own teams chances) will lead thier team to victory here as well. The Empire is looking solid with Thomlinson though.
Actually it was a total swing and a miss on tis one as Testeverde's pathetic perfomance forced the Evil Empire to have to do things the hard way. Fortunately they had LaDanian Thomlinson who put up 35.70 points. He outscored the Clowns backs himself who only scored 7.53 points. Deion Branch had 12.37 and the Detriot Lions defense had 10.50 points for the Evil Empire. Anthony Wright had 17 points, Erron Kinney had 13.43 points , the Washington Redskins defense had 12.00 points, John Kasay had 10.50 points and Joe Jurevicius had 10.07 points to make it close for the Clowns but the running game failure cost them dearly.

Nor Cal Crushers(6-3) 135.11 WBI-461(7-2) 111.46
The Crushers could slap WBI-461 from their second place perch with their solid advantage at running back with Shaun Alexnader and Lamont Jordan over Curtis Martin and DeShaun Foster who will have to wait his turn for his carries behind Stpehen Davis. WBI-461 needs a big game from Jerry Collins to stay close.
Scored a home run on this one. The Crushers got 35.9 points from their backs compared to 14.4 for WBI-461. Collins did his part scoring a respecatable 26.33 which is decent but not enough to Carson Palmer's 29.37 points. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense added 17 points, and Steve Smith added 15.57 points. WBI-461 got 14.03 from Jerry Porter, Bryant Johnson's 13.40 points and Zach Thomas with 11.50 points.

Tomahawks(6-3) 111.85 Mechanicatz(3-6) 52.67
The Mechanicatz must have packed up camp for the season because they decided to leep Drew BLedsoe in the starting lineup even though he's on a bye.And in this league you cannot win without a starting quarterback. The Tomahawks should win easily.
Told ya.

sigmakittens(3-6) 139.59 Stevies Scapegoats (6-3) 95.03
The Scapegoats need to make up for last weeks egg-on-your-face collapse last week get an improving sigmakittens team. The quarterback matchup is pretty tight but the Scapegaots got significnat advnatages in the recivers and the running game and that could make all the difference.
Well The kitteis won the RBs matchup 20.43 to 17.40 and the Scapegoats won the recivers matchup 43.4 to 22.53 and Green wont he matchup for the kitteis over the Scapegaots Brunell 23.83 to 17.23. The clincher came from the Carolina Panthers defense who buisted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense in the face 31 to 2.

Cromer Angry Smash!(9-0) 134.13 Dogs in the Bathtub(1-8) 83.18
The best team in the league against the worst. Looking up and down the Dogs roster there is no reason to belive they have any chance whatsoever to knock the Smash from the ranks of the unbeaten.
Well that was easy.
The Smash had 8 players in double figures to the Dogs 2.
How hard is that?

Pelan's Bobcats(2-7) 111.87 Beckham Pwns All(4-5) 68.48
Both teams are missing players due to byes and the Bobcats (on paper) have the advantage for once. What Brees and Brady do obviously goes a long way in deciding who wins as does the running back battle. What may actually settle the matter is if the Seattle Seahawks handle the Cardinals for the Bobcats and if the Dolphins have answers for Micheal Vick and the Falcons for Beckham.
Brady outscored Brees 37.77 to 21.87 and Seattle outscored Miami 20 to 12 and the stat of the game both teams had 4 zeros from their rosters a piece.

wst Coast Style(2-7) 115.30 Tolman(4-5) 78.50
In spite of his poor roster management Tolman is still in the playoff hunt but that could end after this week and it'll be thier own fault for leaving 4 players who are on a bye. Unless the Portis and Lewis go nuts they really don't have a chance .
They didn't and while Tolman didn't end his playoff hunt they certainly hurt it.

WEEK 10 SCHEDULE
Koko's X-Cats(6-3) vs. Jc's Evil Empire(6-3)
The X-Cats are hoping for a full recovery from Marc Bulger and for Willis McGahee to run wild on the Chiefs defense in order to win. Meanwhile the Evil Empire is looking for SOMETHING from both David Carr and Brian Westbrook but Tony Gonzalez and Mike Vanderjagt may be the answers for them this week.

[ COLOR=Navy]Fiesty Klowns(5-4) vs. Nor Cal Crushers(6-3)
The Crushers boast a huge advantage at running back and I donn't think GArcia is playing for the Klowns either so things are looing pretty grim for them.

WBI-461(7-2) vs. Tomahawks(6-3)
So long as the Tomahawks have Peyton Manning they have the ability to beat anybody in theleague. Especially when he is going up against a weak opponent like the Texans. WBI-161 could make up the difference witht he combined effort of Stpehen Jackson and Kerry Collins but the real wildcard could be the Colts defense.

Mechanicatz(3-6) vs. sigmakittens(3-6)
Two teams going in opposite directions. The good news for the Mechanicatz is that no one is on a bye but the bad news is alot of them are injured (including Derrick Blaylock who is out of action). The kitteis don't have anyone who is going to scare people to death but if they perform up to their standards the kitties could be looking at creeping back up into the playoff chase.

Stevies Scapegoats (6-3) vs. Cromer Angry Smash!(9-0)
The Scapegoats could possibly be the biggest threat to the Smash's undefeated run because Jake Delhome could outperform Brett Farve and Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne could go crazy going against the Texans. Where the Smash could keep the streak alive is in the running game with Edgerrin James and Stephen Davis (though he needs to make more plays than he has been) over Warrick Dunn and Shaun Bryson (does he even play much?).

Dogs in the Bathtub(1-8) vs.wst Coast Style(2-7)
For once the Dogs are actually favored and it's because of the the advantage of Duce Staley and Cedric Benson over Lamar Gordon and Jerome Bettis (who may not be playing) but Donovan McNabb is stronger for wst Caost Style than Micheal Vick is for the Dogs.

Pelan's Bobcats(2-7) vs. Cooney Quest(2-7)
The two surprise winners from last week meet up and it's a battle of attrition as poor roster management and injuries have taken their toll. The Quest have two active productive running backs while the Bobcats have the disappointing Corey Dillon but they also have Tom Brady who's team is backed into a corner and that's when he is at his best while the Quest have retread Brad Johnson.

Tolman(4-5) vs. Beckham Pwns All(4-5)
The two dissapointing teams fro last week do battle to see who gets back on track and who falls further away from the path. Beckham is missing an INEXSCUABLE seven players who are on a bye and have bascially doomed themselves (why couldn't he put forth this crappy an effort when he was playing me?)

Koko's X-Cats (4-3-2) vs. sigmakittens (4-5)
The X-Cats are depending on Kerry Collins and Willis McGahee to produce but the difference may be if Micheal Pittman can add anything to the equation. The kitties hope to get the same from TJ Duckett who hasn't played in weeks.

Rhode Island Voltaic (6-3) vs. Jc's Evil Empire (5-4)[/color
Corey gets an opportunity to vent on the commish. But if Manning goes postal on the hapless Texans it won't even be close. If he doesn't then the Empire could snatch the game away with Steve Jackson and Rommie Brown.

Nor Cal Crushers (8-1) vs. Feisty Klowns (5-4)
The beat (ings) goes on for the league leading Crushers as they ride the arm of Jake Plummer and the legs of Brain Westbrook and Steve Smith. The Klowns need Edgerrin James and Reuben Droughns to get by.

The Tacoites (5-4) vs. hurricanes (2-6-1)
The canes rely on Donovan McNabb but he may be all they have. The Tacoites counter McNabb with an angry Tom Brady and the surprising Colts defense to add alot of points as well.

Pelan's Bobcats (1-8) vs. Stevies Scapegoats (2-6-1)
The Bobcats would be in real good shape with Trent Green and Shaun Alexnader if Antonio Gates wasn't on a bye thos week. Because he is that leaves the door open for the Scapegoats who may or may not get anything out of Ricky Williams and Brad Johnson.

QC Elite (2-7) vs.west coast style (4-5)
This is a funny looking game. There is no one player who sticks out as a game changer (outside of Marvin Harrison) but they have more players who make plays.

Dunedain (4-5) vs. Akshar Did It (4-4-1)
Being that Dunedain is missing their quarterback and defense I doubt Dunedain will do very well this week.

FIRSTforce (7-2) vs. Coco's Monkeys (4-5)
Here's something you don't see every day. Both teams are basically fighting over the same team and who may or may not win this week could come down to who coach Mooch chooses to start. The loser of the decison could be in bad shape but FIRST force would be in better shape with better shape with better players and they have their kicker actually playiong this week.

Team THRUST (5-4) vs. Your Ad Here (7-2)
Your Ad Here is missing three players not the best way to maintian playoff position.

Cooney Quest (5-4)vs. IwillCrushYou (3-5-1)
Inspite of themselves IWillCrushYou is actually favored and it's because of Matt Hasselback, Larry Johnson, Clinton Portis and Domanick Davis who are better than Brett Farve and Mike Sellers. Plain and simple.

Week X Postgame Analysis

Rhode Island Voltaic (6-3) d. Jc's Evil Empire (5-4)
63-29
I think the combined 2 on defense for the Empire summed this one up pretty well. No matter what they could put up, Rhode Island just outdid them. Not like they put up much to begin with, what with their top score of 7 coming from the K spot (and even then, RI got 12 from their K spot). Talk about pro-bowl offenses falling apart. Rhode Island also pulled out a new trick this week: conglomeration. Nothing spectacular beyond Peyton Manning’s 16, but everybody contributed their fair share, giving this one to the Voltaic.

Koko's X-Cats (4-3-2) d. sigmakittens (4-5)
36-35
Yep… that went well. High score of this entire game was Gamble’s 12 on the Kittens’ side of things, and that was unsupported. Where the X-Cats pulled of this slim win was the QB slot. Delhomme got the win on Sunday, but only gave 1 point to the Kittens. Meanwhile, Kerry Collins gets owned, but still contributes 7 to the X-Cats. Strange world, huh?

Feisty Klowns (5-4) d. Nor Cal Crushers (8-1)
64-63
Easily the game of the week. Finally, a bye effects the Crushers. With no Thomlinson, the Crushers pulled out their defense. A combined 30 looked good, especially since all the Klowns had on defense was Witherspoon’s 15. But surprisingly, other than Plummer’s 11 and Westbrook’s 12, Nor Cal had no offense. With Nor Cal’s big toys ineffective, the Klowns opened up. James came out with 13, Droughns had 12, and the entire offense scored at least 5 points a piece. It came together just enough to hold off the Crushers’ Monday night charge. But let's be fair: even losing, Nor Cal still looks good.

hurricanes (2-6-1) d. The Tacoites (5-4)
64-28
The Tacoites were so obsessed with claiming their coveted #11 spot, they threw the game. Okay, maybe not. But the only person who broke 5 for them was Tom Brady and his 8. Meanwhile, the Canes’ defense outscored their opponent alone with 31. Yeah, they lost McNabb and most of their offense stunk, but I still have to give props to the dual 15s from Lee Evans and Chris Chambers. Even if it was just a fluke, it was a darn pretty one.

Stevies Scapegoats (2-6-1) d. Pelan's Bobcats (1-8)
50-37
Shaun Alexander got 26 for the Bobcats! Oh, then Trent Green killed it with a -6. This game was all Goats. Their two Ds combined for 28, and Galloway contributed 12, thus eliminating the Bobcats from playoff contention.

west coast style (4-5) d. QC Elite (2-7)
55-28
“This is a funny looking game.” That it was. “There is no one player who sticks out as a game changer (outside of Marvin Harrison) but they [WCS] have more players who make plays.” Hey, guess who changed the game? Marvin Harrison and his 11. Also in WCS’s favor was the fact that their entire team put up positive numbers. And I’m sure Jacksonville’s 19 didn’t hurt either. All the Elite had was the Giants’ DEF’s 12. And I mean that literally. WCS puts themselves back into the playoff hunt.

Akshar Did It (4-4-1) d. Dunedain (4-5)
58-49
“Being that Dunedain is missing their quarterback and defense I doubt Dunedain will do very well this week.” So I’m going to take the lazy way out here and quote Ed. But that quote is true. Byes killed Dunedain, and beyond Tiki Barber’s albeit impressive 21, they got nothing. ADI’s players at least all contributed (more than half their team broke 5). Their leads were on defense (Barnett’s 17 and San Francisco’s 11), but their offense having no holes is what sealed their win.

FIRSTforce (7-2) d. Coco's Monkeys (4-5)
83-39
The Monkeys’ just can’t catch a break. Just when you think they’re getting back into the playoff hunt, they bomb with four zeroes (only one due to a bye). Peterson’s 22 was just plain wasted. FIRSTforce’s high scores weren’t wasted though (and boy, were there a lot of them). Let’s go down the list: Harrington had 15, Rackers kicked for 11, Fletcher added another 15, and Carolina led the high score of this week with 23. A very solid victory for the Force.

Team THRUST (5-4) d. Your Ad Here (7-2)
57-35
Team THRUST played a good game, but not a great game. Davis gave them 10, Elam gave them 11, and June gave them 9. They had their flaws, but lucky for them, YAH had more. “Your Ad Here is missing three players; not the best way to maintain playoff position.” I know I continuously tease YAH about their gameplay, but to be completely fair, their players on byes didn’t have backups. All in all, there were four donuts and a -1 on YAH. Their receivers looked good combining for 22, but with an injury addled offense and a bye addled defense, it was all but hopeless.

Cooney Quest (5-4) d. IwillCrushYou (3-5-1)
61-53
I can’t say I saw dual 19s coming from the K and DEF spots on Cooney’s roster. I also can’t say I saw IWCY’s defense flopping this week. What they did on offense (namely Portis’s 17 and Fitzgerald’s 13) outdid the Quest, but Cooney’s victory on the defensive side and their unanswered points in the K spot put this W firmly in Cooney’s column.

::takes a second to chuckle at the #11 Tacoites:: Okay, that's done. Playoff Picture:

Still not much we can go on this week. But we have some facts.
 • Nor Cal and FIRSTforce will clinch with either two wins, or one win plus a loss from each of ADI, WCS, Tacoites, and Empire. And yeah, if all four of those teams lose twice, they'll clinch.
 • Voltaic and YAH can clinch with three wins, or a bunch of other mathematical situations too long to get into this early.
 • ADI, WCS, Tacoites, and Empire can clinch if they win out.
 • QC Elite will be eliminated with one more loss.
 • And finally, the Pelancats are the first to go this season.
Keep in mind this is all pretty much with basic math. There are many more clinch situations, but to explain them all would be too time consuming (both to write and to read) and nigh pointless since most of them will not apply next week. The most important thing to remember is that the top 15 teams are still well in this race, the next 3 can still lose once, and even QC Elite can make the playoffs with a lot of luck.

Also, I still have YAH missing the playoffs. Just saying. :p See you next week.

WEEK 10 Results
Jc's Evil Empire(7-3) 104.70Koko's X-Cats(6-4)95.60
The Evil Empire rode a 36.6 to 8.27 advantage in the recieving game and a 17.9 to 5.40 advantage in the running game to overcome Marc Bulger's 28.73 to 19.20 advantage and cruise to victory.

Nor Cal Crushers(7-3) 110.68[ COLOR=Navy]Fiesty Klowns(5-5)66.83
The Crushers boast a huge advantage at running back and I donn't think Garcia is playing for the Klowns either so things are looing pretty grim for them.
Garcia didn't play and the Crushers running game anniliahted the Klowns 45.47 to 13.2. It was over before it started.

Tomahawks(7-3) 113.20 WBI-461(7-3)98.77
Two players led the Tomahawks to victory. One expected and the other came out of the blue. Peyton Manning predictibly exploded for 41.17 points aginst the weak Texans but who knew Samkon Gado had a 27.20 points game up his sleeve? Jeff Reed added 11.5 points and the Indianapolis CVolts defense added 10 points to the Tomahawks cause. Kerry Collins put up a respectable 29.33 points for WBI-461 and Stephen Jackson and Gary Jones combined for a formidable 24.20 points but they couldn't pull this one out themselves as the rest of the roster failed to help much.

sigmakittens(4-6) 121.16 Mechanicatz(3-7) 95.93
Two teams going in opposite directions. The good news for the Mechanicatz is that no one is on a bye but the bad news is alot of them are injured (including Derrick Blaylock who is out of action). The kitteis don't have anyone who is going to scare people to death but if they perform up to their standards the kitties could be looking at creeping back up into the playoff chase.
The Mechanicatz put up a good fight but they just couldn't stoptheir brutal slide while the kitties can now be considered a serious playoff threat. The kitties were led by the Carolina Pantehrs defense with a hearty 32 points followed by Byron Leftwich's 21.23 points and Reuben Droughns 17.20 points. The Mechanicatz were led by Drew Bledsoe's 19.43 points, Hines Ward's 18.27 points and Jason Elam's 11.5 points.

Cromer Angry Smash!(10-0) 154.14 Stevies Scapegoats (6-4) 116.60
The Smash became the first team to clinch a playoff spot (could a league championship be far behind) as they easily disposed of another tough foe. The Smash were led by Brett Farve's 25.53 points followed by Mike Peterson's 22 points, Larry Fitzgerald's 19.90 points, Edgerrin James, 17.37 points, the New York Giants defense's 16 points ,Stephen Davis' 11.40 points, Jared Allen's 10.5 points and Joe Nedney's 10 points. The Scapegoats were led by Matt Jones 17.10 points, Marvin Harrison's 16.70 points, Warrick Dunn's 16.53 points, Cato June's 11.5 points, Jake Delhomme's (disaapionting) 10.83 points, and Adam Vinateri's 10.5 points.

wst Coast Style(3-7) 106.53 Dogs in the Bathtub(1-9) 85.83
For once the Dogs are actually favored and it's because of the the advantage of Duce Staley and Cedric Benson over Lamar Gordon and Jerome Bettis (who may not be playing) but Donovan McNabb is stronger for wst Coast Style than Micheal Vick is for the Dogs.
Ironically Vick outperfomed McNabb 37.30 to 20.60 but Staley and Benson fell short against the twosome of Bettis and Gordon 11.67 to 9.66. In fact outside of Neil Rackers 11 points the rest of the Dogs roster fell short. wst Coast Style got 21.5 points from the Minnasota Vikings defense and Roy Williams TD Interception fueled 13 points sealed the deal.

Pelan's Bobcats(3-7) 114.40 Cooney Quest(2-8) 79.47
The two surprise winners from last week meet up and it's a battle of attrition as poor roster management and injuries have taken their toll. The Quest have two active productive running backs while the Bobcats have the disappointing Corey Dillon but they also have Tom Brady who's team is backed into a corner and that's when he is at his best while the Quest have retread Brad Johnson.
The Bobcats made the most out of their leftovers getting 29.30 points for a (for once) healthy Roy Williams, 27.60 points from Tom Brady, 19.60 points from Chris Chambers, 17.90 from resurgent Lee Evans and 13 points from teh Seattle Seahawks defense. The Quest got 16 points from Demorrio Williams, 13.87 points from Brandon Stokley, 13.80 points from Brad Johnson, amd 10.5 points from Jeremiah Trotter. They just had far too many zeros on the board to keep up.

Beckham Pwns All(5-5) 127.44 Tolman(4-6)101.83
Beckham pwns All survived posting four goose eggs on their score sheet due to Kurt Warner's 42.97 point explosion, Tiki Barber's 27.73 point contribution, the Denver Bronco defense's 25 points, and Josh Scobee's 13.5 points. Tolman got 20.80 points from Eli Manning, 19.20 points from Clinton Portis, 18.23 points from Joey Galloway and 11.5 points from Keith Newman but losing 5.5 points from kicker Rain Lindell did not help.

WEEK 11 SCHEDULE
Nor Cal Crushers(7-3) vs. Koko's X-Cats(6-4)
The X-Cats could get nuked by the lethal one two punch of Shaun Alexnader and Larry Johnson (facing an impotent Texans defense) and quartback Carson Palmer could be huge in a big day against the Colts (or he could fall flat oin his face so what he does goes a long way in how the Crushers do). The X-Cats are heavily relying on Marc Bulger to basically destroy the Cardinals because Willis McGahee could disappear early of the Bills fall way behind and Julius Jones has to split carries now.

Pelan's Bobcats(3-7) vs. Jc's Evil Empire(7-3)
The Evil Empire has the amazing LaDanian Thomlinson going up against the worst rushing defense in the NFL (200+ yard game anyone?) but at press time they lack a quarterback (they have Mike McMahon and Tommy Maddox on the bench. There's a reason why they're backups.) THe Bobcats best hope is Tom Brady because Corey Dillon is just plain hurt this year and Rudi Johnson is facing a tough Colts D. Chris Chambers and Roy Williams could be big time but they are saddled by medicroe (to put it nicely) quarterbacks.

Tomahawks(7-3) vs. [ COLOR=Navy]Fiesty Klowns(5-5)
The Tomahawks Peyton Manning vs. the Fiesty Klowns Chris Simms looks like the biggest missmatch in NFL history fortunately both teams have tossups at running back as they both wait to see if any of their 4 running backs will step up.

sigmakittens(4-6) vs. WBI-461(7-3)
What looked like a cakewalk no less than two weeks ago is a game of serious concern for WBI-461 as they are the team struggling to win now. While they have possible advantages at quarterback and running back the wildcard that the kitties have is the opportunistic and viscious Carolina Panthers defense who can score alot especially against a weak offense like the Bears.

Cromer Angry Smash!(10-0) Mechanicatz(3-7)
After running the gauntlet of playoff potentials recently the Smash get a team rapidly fading to the back of the pack in the Mechanicatz. Why should things change now?

Stevies Scapegoats (6-4) vs. Dogs in the Bathtub(1-9)
The Scapegoats get a vacation going aginst the Dogs who just can't compete. It doesn't help that they don't maintain their roster and the players they put in are just adequete. The Scapegoats could win with thier recivers Harrison, Chad Johnson and Matt Jones evenif Brunell or Dunn don't play well.

Cooney Quest(2-8) vs. Tolman(4-6)
A close matchup looking for heroes who step up and take charge in all facets of the roster. It's really hard to see where the difference comes from. The quarterbacks are close. The running backs are close. THe recivers tilt more in Tolman's favor though so this could be the difference.

Beckham Pwns All(5-5) vs.wst Coast Style(3-7)
It's hard to win games when you don't put players in position to win particularly at quarterback. wst Coast Style has mailed it in and made it easy for Beckham even though they are also guilty of the same crime they at least have a quarterback and he's a suddenly rather prolific one in Kurt Warner.

z= Mathematically eliminated

Koko's X-Cats (5-3-2) vs. Feisty Klowns (6-4)
The Klowns are looking to stomp the X-Cats using Carson Palmer and Edgerrin Jmes taking turns gashing one anotehrs teams. The X-Cats are hoping Willis McGahee could stay in the game but may need the Raiders combo of Collins and Jordan to play big to hope to win.

Rhode Island Voltaic (7-3) vs. Akshar Did It (5-4-1)
The Voltaic got Manning and that is a good weapon to have in your arsenal. So is Warrick Dunn when your opponent only has kick returner Darren Sproles.

Jc's Evil Empire (5-5) vs. Nor Cal Crushers (8-2)
The Crushers stumbled last week but Thomlinson could be just insane this week as could Steve Smith. If Jake Plummer behaves himself the Evil Empire could be in serious trouble and need Steve Jackson and Ronnie Brown to go big to hope to keep it close.

sigmakittens (4-6) vs. The Tacoites (5-5)
Well if the Tacoites want to maintain their 11th place position they beat win this game and there sure are an awful lot of letters after players names. Tom Brady could ease alot of fears.

hurricanes (3-6-1) vs. Stevies Scapegoats (3-6-1)
The canes are going with JP Losman on the road. A very bad sign. Ancient Brad Johnson isn't exactly Joe Montana but he has a better grasp of the offense and a weaker opponent to beat on so thing look up a bit for the Scapegoats.

Pelan's Bobcats (1-9) vs. QC Elite (2-8)
The Elite deserve to lose. Any true competitor never admits publicly to giving up especially to the worst team in the league.

Dunedain (4-6) vs. Coco's Monkeys (4-6)
Coco's Monkeys are done in because Jeff Garcia isn't playing and Dunedain's Drew Brees is. Corey Dillonis hurt and there really isn't anyone who can take up the slack.

FIRSTforce (8-2) vs. Your Ad Here (7-3)
Matchup of the week. FIRSTforce has Rudi Johnson and Mike Anderson who are better than Your Ad Here's Mewelde Moore but Your Ad Here's Steve McNair is better than FIRSTforce's Joey Harrington. But teh Carolina Panthers defense could be the tirebreaker for FIRSTforce who has been nuts in recent weeks.

Team THRUST (6-4) vs. IwillCrushYou (4-5-1)
In Spite of IWillCrushYou's bitter derision to the league they are competitive just unlucky. Again the y are in a tight matchup again but the loss of Robert Fergeson will hurt them no doubt. Of course Team THRUST would like another three touchdown week from Roy Williams and hope he doesn't hurt himself again.

Cooney Quest (6-4) vs. west coast style (5-5)
Brett Farve is the Quest's money train this week as no one knows what you are going to get from Byron Leftwcih from week to week. Marvin Harrison is the best bet to help wst Coast Style take uo the slack.

Week XI Postgame Analysis

This analysis is brought to you by STECOP: the Society To Eventually COmbat Procrastination.

Rhode Island Voltaic (7-3) d. Akshar Did It (5-4-1)
56-27
What happens when Rhode Island’s offense falls apart other than Manning and his 17 because El Commish was greedy and thought he’d get a second QB out of Antwaan Randel El thus benching Reggie Wayne who scored 11? Well, other than a nigh run-on sentence with no use of commas, you turn to your defense. Tampa Bay scored 10 and Gibril Wilson scored 11. All ADI could be proud of was Tab Perry’s (again I say, who?) 10, making this game still rather easy for the Voltaic.

Feisty Klowns (6-4) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-3-2)
86-41
“The Klowns are looking to stomp the X-Cats using Carson Palmer and Edgerrin James taking turns gashing one another’s teams.” James:16; Palmer:11. It gets worse for the X-Cats. The Klowns had some nasty support, including Driver’s 17, Droughns’s 14, and Minnesota’s 11. “The X-Cats are hoping Willis McGahee could stay in the game but may need the Raiders combo of Collins and Jordan to play big to hope to win.” Three swings, and three misses. Sure, Burress got them 11, but the X-Cats were still out.

Nor Cal Crushers (8-2) d. Jc's Evil Empire (5-5)
55-39
The Crushers clear 50, and it’s still a terrible game for them. Their only double digit score was Tomlinson with 10. Dual 9s from Trotter and Todd Peterson supported them well though, as all the Empire could counter with was Kevin Curtis’s 10 and Vanderjagt’s 9. The Crusher’s are now one game away from clinching a playoff spot.

The Tacoites (5-5) d. sigmakittens (4-6)
53-33
So is this a good day for the Tacoites or a bad day? On one hand, they won the game with the 15 from Chad Johnson and the 12 from Tom Brady towering over the Kittens’ non-existent offense and lackluster defense. On the other hand, they lost their coveted #11 spot. Woe is them?

hurricanes (3-6-1) d. Stevies Scapegoats (3-6-1)
30-16
Yeah… so this game inhaled audibly. Eleven teams would outscore this entire game this week (two in a loss). Line of this game though is probably the 19 on defense for the Canes, led by Pittsburgh’s 10. And with that combined 2 on offense from the Goats, dare I say that the Canes easily won this one?

Pelan's Bobcats (1-9) d. QC Elite (2-8)
88-32
Well I can’t say I saw this coming. A week after being the first team mathematically eliminated, the Bobcats come out fully loaded. While not much was needed to get by the Elite’s high score of 9 from the K spot, the Bobcats sure were in this one to dominate. Tied for the top score of the week, they got 13 from Green, 17 from Alexander, 9 from Gates, 11 from Lloyd, 10 from McCardell, and 7 from Dawson. That’s a combined 67 on offense. Who needs a defense (though Cleveland’s 13 was a nice touch)? The Bobcats strike hard from the grave and take the Elite back down with them.

Dunedain (4-6) d. Coco's Monkeys (4-6)
74-43
“Coco's Monkeys are done in because Jeff Garcia isn't playing… Corey Dillon is hurt and there really isn't anyone who can take up the slack.” While there were two people who tried to pick up the Monkeys’ slack (Kennison and Baltimore each with 14), those two absences were very costly. “…Dunedain's Drew Brees is [playing].” Oh boy, was he playing. He had the high score with 21. This was supplemented by Bryant’s 13 and Quarles’s 11. At this point, we can simply do the math.

FIRSTforce (8-2) d. Your Ad Here (7-3)
88-77
The one time YAH actually doesn’t try to lose, and they actually lose. They had a decent offense, and with Swinton’s 10, Graham’s 13, and Wilson’s 18, it looked like YAH was going to have a beautiful victory. And a -1 in FIRSTForce’s QB slot almost made that come true. But what the Force lacked in QB pointage (yay, use of Eddieism!), they made up for with a very nice 23 from Mike Anderson, Rudi Johnson scoring 15, Rackers taking 14, and Reggie Brown contributing his 10 points. While just short of being the game of the week as Ed called, it was still a heck of a match.

IwillCrushYou (3-6-1) d. Team THRUST (6-4)
72-71
THIS was the game of the week. Let’s look at what happened on Sunday first. Team THRUST had 12s from Vilma and Holt, 11 from Oakland, and 15 from Eli Manning. IWCY had Larry Johnson’s incredible nighttime performance giving them 22 points, an 11 from Larry Fitzgerald, and twin 14s from Kaeding and Vrabel. But they were still down by one. Lucky for them, the lowliest of scores (Darren Shaper’s 2) on Monday Night gave this exciting game to IWCY.

west coast style (5-5) d. Cooney Quest (6-4)
50-44
I’ll admit, I did a double-take when I saw a -4 in Cooney’s DEF slot. Green bay didn’t do THAT bad. Then I realized they replaced Green Bay with Buffalo. So I look on their bench to see that if they’d kept Green Bay in, they would’ve scored 10 (14 more than Buffalo). That’s right, Cooney actually bet against their beloved Green Bay, and it cost them dearly. Ike Taylor’s 10 wasn’t nearly enough to compensate. Meanwhile, Leftwich’s 19 and Rhodes’s 10 took advantage for WCS, and didn’t let go of it. Both teams now stand at 6-5.

Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football

Since Ed is away, I figured I'd post a pregame analysis.

FIRST Plus League:

Pelans Bobcats (3-8-0)vsNor Cal Crushers (8-3-0)
Both NorCal (Carson Palmer) and Pelan (Tom Brady) have very good QB's playing weak defenses. The Crushers have Steve Smith, Isaac Bruce, and Joe Horn at WR, while the Bobcats will rely on Chambers, Lee Evans, and Roy Williams. Steve Smith will go off as usual, while Horn and Bruce are hit and miss. Roy Williams could run wild behind Atlanta's secondary on thanksgiving day. At RB the Crushers have Larry Johnson and Shaun Alexander, a formidable combination. The Bobcats have a questionable Corey Dillon, and Rudi Johnson facing a week Baltimore defense. Both teams have their defenses facing tough offenses--expect this one to be an offensive battle.

Tolman (4-7-0) vsJC's Evil Empire (8-3-0)
JC is forced to rely on a very shaky Mike McMahon vs the Packers, compared to Eli Manning vs Seattle for Tolman. It could be over right here, if Eli goes off. At wideout, JC has a solid trio of Kevin Curtis, Deion Branch, and Rod Smith. All have fairly favorable matchups. Tolman has Dallas' two top WR's in Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson, who face a tough Denver D, and the red hot Joey Galloway, facing the very tough Bears. At RB, JC looks to have the clear advantage with super stud LT and Brian Westbrook. His key to success will be lots of points from these two. Tolman has Clinton Portis vs the very stingy SD defense, and the horribly ineffective Jamal Lewis vs the Bengals. This matchup also features two of the leagues premier TE's, in Gonzalez(JC) and Crumpler (Tolman). Look for Gonzo to be KC's main target through the air against a very suspect NE secondary. Cincy could put up some big points on D against the inept Ravens, for Tolman. JC shouldn't count on much out of Detroit.

Koko's X-Cats (6-5-0) vs Tomahawks (8-3-0)
Koko has gone with mediocre Steve McNair, albeit against a very soft D in the niners. Tomhawks went the opposite direction, with the league's best QB, though vs a strong Pitt D. At WR, Tomahawks looks to have the advantage with Plaxico Burress vs the Seahawks, and Muhsin Muhhammed vs TB. Koko will turn to the disappointing Michael Clayton, who has done nothing all year, and Derrick Mason vs the Bengals. Neither team appears very strong at RB, with Tomahawks using rookie Samkon Gado, who has a case of the fumbles, and Patrick Pass of the Pats. Gado could see split touches with Tony Fisher, reducing his value, while Pass is currently a gametime decision and may not play. Koko looks to Willis McGahee vs Carolina and Julius Jones vs Denver to pick up the slack on his end. Normally these two would be fantastic options, but McGahee is playing a tenacious Carolina D, and Julius will be splitting carries vs a tough Denver D. Tomahawks also has a clear advantage at TE, with superstar Antonio Gates and Jason Witten. Gates may not play, but if he does, he should be good. Koko will hope Big Ben's return to play helps get rookie TE Heath Miller back into the endzone vs Indy.

Feisty Klowns (5-6-0) vs Sigmakittens (4-7-0)
The Sigmakittens look for Trent Green to feast on the depleted NE secondary, while the Klowns have chosen to play Chris Simms vs Chicago. Hopefully the Klowns weren't expecting much. By the end of the day, he may have been better off not playing a QB. The kittens have a pedestrian trio of WR's. Andre Johnson has the potential for a big game vs St Louis, but we haven't seen much from him this year. The Klowns have Donald Driver, Eddie Kennison, and Joe Jurevicius. Driver and Jurevicius have been solid this year, and should continue to be, though Jurevicius may see fewer looks with the return of Darrell Jackson to Seattle's offense. At RB, the kittens have the hot as of late Reuben Droughns, and Cardinals rookie JJ Arrington. Droughns could put up big numbers vs a bad Minnesota D, while Arrington will be smothered by Jacksonville. The Klowns will rely on the hit and miss Kevin Jones and Mewelde Moore. Either one could have a big day, or do nothing. If the Klowns don't get anything out of their QB, they're toast.

WBI-461 (8-3-0) vs Cromer Angry Smash (11-0-0)
Matchup of the week right here, folks. Both teams compare well across the board. WBI looks to Kerry Collins to unload vs Miami. Cromer has Favre vs Philly. Slight advantage goes to Cromer, as Oakland will be looking to establish the run. Both teams are stacked at WR. WBI has hot Jerry Porter, Anquan Boldin, and Ernest Wilford. Porter and Boldin will likely put up good to great numbers. Cromer has Larry Fitzgerald, Santana Moss, and Antonio Bryant. All look to be solid. This matchup looks like it'll come down to who Jax shuts down--Larry, or Anquan. At RB, WBI has solid options in Steven Jackson vs a horrible Houston D, and Curtis Martin vs a so so NO D. Cromer may have a slight edge with super star Edgerrin James, and Mike Alstott, but James has a very tough matchup, and Alstott looks to get limited touches. Whichever team pulls away at RB will likely get the win. Cromer has the advantage on D, with Jacksonville facing Arizona. However, Arizona may be able to burn them anyway with their fearsome WR combo. WBI is relying on a not so great Cleveland D, but since they're playing Minnesota, it may not matter. I like Cromer by 10

Mechanicatz (3-8-0) vs Dogs in the Bathtub (2-9-0)
Both teams are all but eliminated from the playoffs, and playing for pride from here on out. That said, Mechanicatz will play Drew Bledsoe at QB vs a tough Denver defense. Dogs will play Mike Vick vs Detroit at home on Thanksgiving day. Vick looks to be the clear favorite here, though neither may put up a lot of points. Mechanicatz turns to a solid WR corps, if healthy, of Randy Moss, Troy Brown, and Hines Ward. Moss has been battling injury and been so-so lately. If he and Hines take off this week, they could prove to be the difference. Dogs looks to backups Mike Williams, Greg Lewis, and his one solid option in TJ Houshmanzadeh. At RB, both teams are about equal. Catz is relying on rookie Cadillac Williams, who faces an extremely tough Chicago D, and backup Derrick Blaylock, who doesn't figure to see many touches vs NO. Dogs will be hoping Kevan Barlow of the niners can pull something out vs Tenn, and rookie Brandon Jacobs of the Giants will get some goalline touches for a short TD. Both teams have excellent kickers, with Jason Elam for the Catz, and Neil Rackers for Dogs. The Catz have a clear advantage on D, with Atlanta facing Detroit, vs the Dogs' KC facing New England.

Wst Coast Style (3-8-0)vsStevie's Scapegoats (6-5-0)
Stevie features an average as of late Jake Delhomme, while Wst Coast uses bottom feeder David Carr. The Scapegoats have a huge advantage at WR with Marvin Harrison and Chad Johnson, as well as rookie Matt Jones. All could put up above average numbers. Wst Coast is using Travis Taylor of the Vikings, and some guy I've never even heard of on the Rams. Neither look to bag many points for the struggling Wst Coast. The Scapegoats also hold an advantage at RB, where they have Warrick Dunn to Wst Coast's Willie Parker. Warrick could be feasting on Detroits D during Thanksgiving day.

Cooney Quest (3-8-0) vs Beckham Pwns All (6-5-0)
Neither team has much going at QB. Warner for Beckham is likely to throw as many picks as TD's vs Jax, while Brad Johnson has to lead Minnesota's inept offense for the Quest. Cooney has the advantage at WR, with Stokley, Keenan McCardell, and Corey Bradford. Beckham could get solid play from Jimmy Smith vs a weak Arizona secondary. Beckham makes the curious decision of leaving one of his RB slots empty, crippling him. Tiki Barber is better than Thomas Jones, and Ronnie Brown of the Quest, but one on two is not pretty. This could be the difference in the matchup.

Playoff Picture: We've got three weeks left, and it's fair to say that the top 13 teams are still well in this, and even everyone save the bottom 2 still have a shot, no matter how slim. Keep in mind that none of this includes fantasy scores quite yet. And I'll go out on a limb and say that unless noted, a tie may as well be a loss this late.
 • Nor Cal and Force will clinch with either one win, or a loss from two of the 6-5 bracket (Thrust, X-Cats, WCS, Tacoites, and Cooney). Two losses from both the Klowns and YAH will also do it.
 • Rhode Island will clinch with two wins, a win and a loss from two of the 6-5 bracket (Thrust, X-Cats, WCS, Tacoites, and Cooney), two losses from two of that 6-5 bracket, or if the Klowns and YAH both lose out.
 • Klowns and YAH will clich if they win out, if two of the 6-5 teams (Thrust, X-Cats, WCS, Tacoites, and Cooney) lose out, or a bunch of other mathematics I won't get into right now.
 • Thrust, X-Cats, WCS, Tacoites, and Cooney are straddling that playoff border, where it's possible to win out and not make it (3 spots, 5 teams). But the fun part of that is they could possibly lose out and make it if the right things happen (which BTW, never happen :p).
 • ADI gets special mention because they're only out of the 6-5 bracket by half a game. They could make the playoffs on just a tie, but chances are, they're going to want to win at least two.
 • Dunedain and the Empire need to win at least a game to avoid direct elimination.
 • IWCY and the Canes need at least a win and a tie to avoid direct elimination (that means two losses will mathematically eliminate them).
 • Kittens and Monkeys need to win two games to avoid direct elimination (two losses will mathematically eliminate them, and a tie may as well be a loss)
 • I think it's fair to say that the Goats need to win out to stay alive (though amazingly, they can still afford a tie).
 • And finally, both the Bobcats and Elite are eliminated.

Lets see if the schedule helps us any:
 • The first thing that comes to my mind is whether there are any games between the teams of that 6-5 bracket. Sadly, only two: Thrust/Cooney, and Thrust/WCS. Great for Thrust if they can win both (not to mention Nor Cal and Force, who will chinch if this happens), bad for the other teams. Also of note is that if either of these games tie, Nor Cal and Force automatically clinch (the whole "tie may as well be a loss" thing).
 • YAH has three teams who are itching to get them out of the playoffs. Dunedain is the last match where they may have even a slight advantage. The last two weeks are Rhode Island and Nor Cal. Though I will repent if they manage to win out, as a playoff spot is guaranteed in that sitch.
 • Those poor Monkeys... Even if they win out, there is still a possibility to miss the playoffs. Even worse, winning out means getting past Nor Cal, Rhode Island, and the X-Cats.
 • Cooney has Thrust, Force, and Dunedain on their schedule. That's three games that can make or break their destiny.
 • Another team with three games that can make or break their destiny, Dunedain has YAH, IWCY, and Cooney.
 • X-Cats are the only 6-5 team with no game that can directly effect their position (Empire, ADI, and Monkeys). Yes, winning these games is important, but in no way shape or form, guarantees them a playoff spot. On the flip side, losing out prettymuch guarantees that they'll be out.
 • You know, I can't say I hate WCS's chances. I said in the mid-season analysis that their easy schedule could be their ticket if they exploit weaknesses. Well, they have both the Bobcats and Canes on their schedule. Quite possibly the easiest schedule of any team left. Either that, or the Klowns with Elite and Goats left. Both teams look like they will make it.
 • Force have an opportunity to play serious spoiler with both Cooney and Thrust the last two weeks.
 • Tacoites/ADI in Week 14 could be an extremely vital game if they're still both vying for playoff spots at that time.
 • I'm also keeping my eye on Thrust/Force in Week 14. If Thrust have won both their previous games, this has potential to be an excellent matchup (especially since due to this, the Force will have clinched).
 • There is still a heck of a battle for the #1 seed award. While technically anyone in the top 10 can still claim it, realistically, the top 3 are the ones who are going to be fighting for it. Nor Cal and Rhode Island both have similarly easy schedules (Force has two serious playoff threats and a team more than capable of pulling an upset), so with the game lead and monstrous fantasy score, even my biased money has to bet on Nor Cal. Rhode Island's best chance is to win out and hope the Crushers lose two.
IOW, no, the schedule only muddles thing up further. Very few games will directly impact the playoffs. But that means we're more likely to have upsets and a few playoff teams we didn't expect (C'mon, Scapegoats!). I'll be back with the Week XII pregame in a few.

z= Mathematically Eliminated

Rhode Island Voltaic (8-3) vs. Coco's Monkeys (4-7)
The Monkeys have both a QB and an RB that are both extremely questionable, and even if they play, they may not be able to score big. While RI's Manning may not be his greatest against Pittsburgh, Dunn is going to run all over the Lions on Thursday, and the Tampa/Chicago game will be very low scoring, more to RI's favor.

Koko's X-Cats (5-4-2) vs. Jc's Evil Empire (5-6)
Collins and Jordan are going to destroy Miami. That's instant points for the X-Cats. The Empire's best chance is if Bledsoe pwns at home against Denver later today.

Nor Cal Crushers (9-2) vs. Akshar Did It (5-5-1)
The Crushers may be playing without a defense this week. What does that mean? Well if Steve Smith and Brian Westbrook run over their respective opponents (which is quite probable), absolutely nothing. But if that doesn't happen, then the door is open to ADI with Brunell, Perry, Vinatieri, and a healthy defense.

Feisty Klowns (7-4) vs. The Tacoites (6-5)
This should be a pretty good game. While it's my opinion that Edgerrin James isn't going to get much against the run defense of Pittsburgh, Carson palmer and the Cincinnati DEF are going to rack up some pretty good points against Baltimore for the Klowns. Meanwhile, The Tacoites have Brady against a holey KC defense, and Carson Plamer's favorite target, Chad Johnson. Eddie's official pick for game of the week.

sigmakittens (4-7) vs. Stevies Scapegoats (3-7-1)
The Scapegoats are relying on a secondary QB (McMahon), a rookie RB who's still a bit inconsistant (Gado) and no kicker. Even just a few points each from Delhomme, Martin, Horn, and Glenn will give this game to the Kittens.

hurricanes (4-6-1) vs. QC Elite (2-9)
The Canes have lost McNabb for the season, and have to get by with JP Lossman. The Elite have Trent Dilfer: inconsistant, but at least capable of a decent score. IMO, what this game will come down to is defense, and the Canes have the advantage there.

west coast style (6-5) vs. Pelan's Bobcats (2-9)
I'll say it now: the Bobcats are not a bad team. It just took them 10 weeks to finally come together. That being said, their game will rely on whether Green and Alexander can get past their respective opponent's defenses. WCS is a bit iffy with Harrison this week, but have both Leftwich and the Jacksonville DEF against Arizona. If the Bobcats can't perform, that's all WCS will need.

Dunedain (5-6) vs. Your Ad Here (7-4)
I still have YAH missing the playoffs. Why? Well for starters, their aces (McNair, Moore, and Moss) are all playing hurt (McNair may not even play, and even if he does, you know how bad he can be if playing while injured). Second: Dunedain is playing healthy. Brees and Barber may be all they need. But if that doesn't happen, the most important thing in this game will be defense and which team's defense is less of a letdown.

FIRSTforce (9-2) vs. IwillCrushYou (4-6-1)
We know that IWCY is more than capable of pulling off this upset. Hasselbeck, Larry Johnson, and Portis are all capable of big points. But opposing them is FIRSTforce and their defense. While I pity their usage of Harrington, Mike Anderson and Rudi Johnson will keep this a close game.

Team THRUST (6-5) vs. Cooney Quest (6-5)
Green Bay has the demoralized Philly this week. Great for Cooney. Meanwhile, Thrust has to hope Eli Manning can play well in Seattle and their defense doesn't falter. This one is an exciting game, if only for the implications it'll have on the playoff race.

I don't know how Ed does this twice a week; it's not as easy as it looks. At least for my postgames, I already have data to work with. These pregames rely on pure knowledge and the occasional psychic powers (yes, my head hurts). I will admit though that this was a fun variation on my normal routine. The playoff race is only just beginning too. I'll have that covered in my next postgame analysis. Until then, have a fun, safe, and gluttonous holiday weekend.

I was thinking the same thing. It was fun, and relatively easy, but it took FOREVER.

Week XII Postgame Analysis

Let’s see how well I did:

Rhode Island Voltaic (8-3) d. Coco's Monkeys (4-7)
68-28
“The Monkeys have both a QB and an RB that are both extremely questionable, and even if they play, they may not be able to score big.” Garcia scored only 4, and Dillon didn’t play. It’s an advantage you don’t want to give the Voltaic. Even more unfortunate for the Monkeys is the fact that their only score which topped their QB was B.J. Sams with 8. While Peyton Manning still put up a respectable 10 for Rhode Island, the real game winners were Santana Moss’s 9 and Dante Hall’s 15. Rhode Island easily punches their ticket to the playoffs.

Jc's Evil Empire (5-6) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-4-2)
88-53
“Collins and Jordan are going to destroy Miami. That's instant points for the X-Cats.” Jordan, yes, with 18. Collins, not so much. The rest of the game was all Empire. Bledsoe indeed pwned on Thursday with 13, Crumpler destroyed the Lions with 18, Steven Jackson had 15, and Vanderjagt kicked for 14. It’s what puts both teams at .500.

Nor Cal Crushers (9-2) d. Akshar Did It (5-5-1)
74-53
Tomlinson with 28, Westbrook with 13, and two 9s from the K and DEF are really all I need to say about the Crushers this week. Actually, that’s all I can say about them. Though it’s not like they really needed anything else. ADI showed up with a nice offensive conglomerate led by Houshmandzadeh’s 11, but they forgot to pack a defense. Nor Cal becomes the second team to clinch a playoff spot.

The Tacoites (6-5) d. Feisty Klowns (7-4)
72-59
As a testament to how screwed up this game was, The Tacoites had both Brady and Feely (arguably the two most renowned flops of the week), and still managed to hold their lead through Monday. Though to be perfectly fair, all the Klowns really had this week was Palmer’s 19 and Minnesota’s 18. Other than those two aforementioned flops and an RB who shall remain nameless, The Tacoites were loaded with points. Shockey’s semi-controversial TD put him at 16, Andre Johnson put up 13, Chad Johnson was again Carson Palmer’s favorite target with 10, and the defense combined for 30. The score looked closer than it actually was, and both teams stand at 7-5.

Stevies Scapegoats (3-7-1) d. sigmakittens (4-7)
53-50
I think props go out to the Goats defense, which carried this game for them. That’s Atlanta’s 16, Demorrio Williams’s 11, and Antonio Pierce’s 7. Combined, it equals 34 (and I’ll be nice and give props to Gado’s 8 too). Lawrence Tynes’s 14 for the Kittens was their only noticeable score, and it meant a fourth straight loss.

hurricanes (4-6-1) d. QC Elite (2-9)
34-18
I can only find one decent thing about this game: Ryan Lindell’s 10 for the Canes. What else can I say when twelve teams could beat this entire game. Four of those twelve teams also lost their games. Of course, eight of those twelve teams won their games. And if you think I’m only saying this to increase my paragraph length, you’re absolutely right. This is being done to lengthen this paragraph. A few more seconds… and we’re done. Okay, I take that back, we’re not done. The best thing about this game, plain and simple, is that the Hurricanes are able to hold on to what little playoff chance they may have. That’s gotta be worth something. Now we’re done. I think.

Pelan's Bobcats (2-9) d. west coast style (6-5)
60-57
“…their [the Bobcats’] game will rely on whether Green and Alexander can get past their respective opponent's defenses.” They combined for 20. Good start. The majority of the remaining points would come from Jason Taylor and his amazing 22. “WCS is a bit iffy with Harrison this week…” He had 12. So much for that. “…but have both Leftwich and the Jacksonville DEF against Arizona. If the Bobcats can't perform, that's all WCS will need.” Jacksonville managed to yank in 12, but Leftwich got injured early and came out with a big donut. I think I can safely say that that piece of bad luck cost WCS.

Your Ad Here (7-4) d. Dunedain (5-6)
63-35
Dunedain, simply put, Dunedained this week (YES! I can use that term again! W00t!). Literally no defense beyond Quarles’s 10, and a low-scoring offense left this one wide open for YAH. And hey, for the second week in a row, YAH actually looked like the playoff caliber team it’s striving to be (though I still use the word “striving” lightly). With actual defensive scoring (a combined 25), and their leader McNair actually leading with 15, YAH actually helped themselves in the playoff race.

IwillCrushYou (4-6-1) d. FIRSTforce (9-2)
51-46
“We know that IWCY is more than capable of pulling off this upset.” Well, if you’re actually paying attention, you’ll realize that it did indeed happen. “Hasselbeck, Larry Johnson, and Portis are all capable of big points.” They combined for 25. “But opposing them is FIRSTforce and their defense.” A combined 26 there. “While I pity their usage of Harrington…” He had -1. “…Mike Anderson and Rudi Johnson will keep this a close game.” They combined for 15 (okay, so I’m cheating that one slightly with Johnson’s terrible game). Close, but not close enough. After all that though, FIRSTforce still claims a playoff spot, IWCY furthers their playoff plans, and Eddie claims a psychic point :p.

Team THRUST (6-5) d. Cooney Quest (6-5)
75-35
Yeah, so the Green Bay dependency didn’t quite go as Cooney planned. They combined for 9 this week. And the rest of the Quest followed suit. Meanwhile, Team THRUST just had to breathe on their opponent. For them, Eli Manning’s 15, Ricky Williams’ 10, and Torry Holt’s 12 would be more than enough.

<EDIT>I'll explain the Kittens and Monkeys being out in the next section.</EDIT>

So after all is said and done, that's Eddie with one psychic point, and Ed with, well, somewhere near a couple bazillion... We now return you to your regularly scheduled pregame show. :D

I'll have the playoff picture up later. I'd like at least an hour of sleep. ;)

x=Clinched Playoff Birth
z=Mathematically Eliminated

Playoff Picture: Looks like we've got three teams in the playoffs (WCS, the X-Cats, and Cooney all loosing helped that greatly). The top 15 teams are well in this race, and even the sixteenth place Scapegoats can still make it. And keep in mind that I'm not including fantasy points quite yet (unless noted), and a tie may as well be a loss, even for that 5-6-1 bracket. Here's the simple stuff.

 • Nor Cal, Force, and Rhode Island have all guaranteed themselves a playoff spot.
 • YAH will clinch with one win, a tie, or a loss from three of the .500 bracket (WCS, X-Cats, Empire, and Cooney). And yet, I still have them missing out...
 • Thrust, Klowns, and Tacoites will clinch if they win out, or if they win one game and three of that .500 bracket (WCS, X-Cats, Empire, and Cooney) get one loss.
 • The border-straddlers this week are WCS, X-Cats, Empire, and Quest. There is a clinching possibility available among them though, and that's if one of them wins out, and the other three lose out. The schedule allows this.
 • The 5-6-1 bracket (IWCY, ADI, and Hurricanes) is an extemely interesting group. My "tie may as well be a loss" thing from up top still applies to them because in that situation, it'll put them even with the current .500 bracket, which is probably not the best place to be right now. But that extra half-win they have means they all can possibly overtake the 7-5 bracket with a win out.
 • Dunedain sits alone at 5-7. Due to scheduling, they cannot afford a loss. They can afford a tie and not be directly eliminated, but I wouldn't recomend it (especially since it'd require two other games to tie).
 • The Scapegoats still have a small shot at the playoffs if they win out. But now, a tie or a loss will eliminate them, as well as a single win from the .500 bracket.
 • The Kittens and Monkeys are out due to a couple games in the schedule. I'll get to that in the next section. All I'm going to say is that it would've been nice to know earlier this morning...
 • And despite the Bobcats' recent surge, both them and the Elite are still eliminated.
Now we get to peer into the Magic 8-Ball and see what the schedule does for us.
 • None of the .500 teams face off. None of the 5.5-6.5 (decimals in there for easier math) teams face off. However, there's WCS/Canes this week, and X-Cats/ADI next week. Even if only one of these games happened, it'd still be what eliminates the Kittens and Monkeys, and forces Dunedain to win out. It also took me two hours and a pot of roasted garlic potatos to get the math 100% on this. Note to self: a tie gives both teams involved half a win. Would've saved me a lot of time and stomach space had I remembered that to begin with...
 • Speaking of WCS/Canes and X-Cats/ADI, the winner of these are in excellent position for a playoff spot.
 • The Tacoites have the Empire this week and ADI next week. All three teams' fates could be decided with these two games.
 • Thrust has Force and WCS. The win against WCS may have to do, as the game against Force could go either way.
 • YAH still has Rhode Island and Nor Cal. While neither of YAH's opponents have nothing to worry about if they lose, these are going to be two tough games. Luckily for YAH, they only have to win one of them. Still, it's these two games plus the low fantasy score that still have me thinking YAH is going to miss the playoffs.
 • ADI has the X-Cats and Tacoites. Talk about dirctly helping themselves if they can win both...
 • Dunedain nedds to win out and have some luck with the teams above them. Interestingly enough, with IWCY and Cooney on their schedule, winning out will also provide some of that luck.
 • Six teams got left at the wayside in the battle for the #1 seed award. While the top four are mathematically in that race, realistically, only the top three have a chance. For Force and Rhode Island, their best chance will be if Nor Cal somehow loses out, and if they win out. Because it's my opinion that neither one can outdo Nor Cal in fantasy points. But even with massive gains in fantasy points for Rhode Island or Force, Nor Cal would still clinch it by winning out.
Again, there's still relatively few games that directly impact who makes the playoffs. But like last week, that just means more opportunities for upsets. And the way things have been going this season, anything is certainly possible. See you next week when the amount of math I have to do shrinks massively. ;)

WEEK 11 RESULTS

Nor Cal Crushers (9-3-0) 150.07 Pelans Bobcats (3-9-0) 88.91
The top scoring team in the league continues to lay the beatdown to (st) of their opponents. It was settled early as Carson Palmer outscored Tom Brady 40 to 18.27 and the Bobcats never recovered. All you need to know about the Bobcat's chances was their insistance on playing two inactive players thus dooming themselves to geting destroyed.

Tolman (4-8-0)170.02 JC's Evil Empire (8-4-0) 141.76
The Evil Empire switched Mike McMahon for Ben Roethlisberger and got a few more points out of the switch but not enough to dent Eli Manning's advantage from scoring 38.97 to Roethlisberger's 16.33 points. While the Evil Empire's running backs crushed Tolman's backs 51.93 to 26.26. Tolman ran away with the recivers game 55.79 to 28.49 and the defensive game 37 to 21.

Tomahawks (9-3-0) 130.27 Koko's X-Cats (6-6-0) 112.23
I wouldn't exactly call McNair mediocre (more like undermanned). He outscored Manning 38.93 to 25.67. Unfortunately for the X-Cats their backs were outscored 21.73 to 10.3 and the recivers were outscored 34.87 to 26.5.

Feisty Klowns (6-6-0) 99.87 Sigmakittens (4-8-0)98.73
As close as it can get. To be blunt if it wasn't for Byron Leftwich's injury the kitties would have won. Simms wasn't great but he scored 16.47 points significantly more than the 1.60 points Leftwich had before he went out. It also didn't help that Brian Finneran put up a big fat zero as well The Klowns got 26.13 points from Joe Jurevicius and 10.47 from Erron Kinney and that was all the double digit contributions from their roster thus leaving the door open for the kitties who fought hard with ANdre Johnson's 22.60 points, the Carolina Panthers 21 points and Reuben Droughns 12.43 points made it close but they came up just short.

Cromer Angry Smash (12-0-0) 111.91 WBI-461 (8-4-0)105.51
I like Cromer by 10
The Smash were nearly done in by poor performances from many of their players on their roster, especially kicker Joe Nedney who gave nothing to the Smash , Steven Davis who got shut down by Buffalo and Brett Farve who underperformed tremendously. Thank God for Jeremy Shockey, London FLetcher and the Jacksonville Jaguars defense who took up the slack scoring 21.47, 14.00 and 13 points respectively. If WBI-461 got a better performace from Kerry Collins they would have won.

Mechanicatz (4-8-0) 121.45 Dogs in the Bathtub (2-10-0)103.44
The Dogs got 24.67 from Micheal Vick, 18 points from the Kansas City CHiefs defense and 11.80 points from Kevan Barlow and their typical little else from the rest of their roster. The Mechicatz aren't exactly ready to challange the Smash for the league championship but they got better production from their big scorers. Drew Blesoe got 36.37, Atlanta Falcons scored 25 points and Shelton Quarles scored 10.5 points.

Wst Coast Style (4-8-0)120.41 Stevie's Scapegoats (6-6-0)103.93
Who knew that David Carr had a 40.87 game in him (with tha tsorry line of his)? Who knew Jake Delohme was going to regress so much to a 22.30 point total? That was the begging of the end for the Scapegoats. Their recivers outscored wst Coast Styles recivers 35.27 to 18.97. The running backs outscored wst Coast Styles backs 9.36 to 6.07 and the defense game was theirs 54.5 to 33. They just couldn't overcome the QB defecit.

Beckham Pwns All (7-5-0) 139.64 Cooney Quest (3-9-0) 103.57
Beckham pulls another fast one by doing a last second roster change and getting CHris Brown in and their backs produced 31.87 to the Quests 22.03. A strong reciever game also bolstered their effort 35.94 to 22.72 to seal the deal.

[WEEK 11 ANALYSIS
Koko's X-Cats (6-6-0) vs.Sigmakittens (4-8-0)
Teh fading X-Cats desperately need this game to stay in the playoff hunt. They take a fairly big risk starting Ryan Fitzpatrick over Steve McNair (who is hurting yet again) while the kitties got Trent Green whousually feast on Denver in Arrowhead. What really could settle this is the two big name defenses who can score in bunches the Chicago Bears for the X-Cats and the Caolina Panthers for the kitties.

JC's Evil Empire (8-4-0) vs. Beckham Pwns All (7-5-0)
The Evil Empire enjoys pummeling teams into submisson with Thomlinson and Westbrook but Beckham isn't exactly hurting playing Tiki Barber and Chris Brown. If Kurt Warner goes gonzo for Beckham things could get very very intereting.

Nor Cal Crushers (9-3-0) vs. Tolman (5-7-0)
The top scoring team in the league could be laying Tolman out early if Shawn Alexnader is Shawn ALexander and if Larry Johnson continues his audition for the CHiefs starting job. Tolman can compete with Jaml Lewis, Clinton Portis and Eli Manning especially if Carson Palmer struggles against Pittsburgh again.

Tomahawks (9-3-0) vs. Pelans Bobcats (3-9-0)
Peyton Manning is an up and down proposition week to week for theor fanatasy owners this year and that is a concern for the Tomahawks with Patrick Pass and Samkon Gado (especially up against the Bears) and the Bobcats are a live underdog with Tom Brady, Rudi Johnson and a possibly playing COrey Dillon.

Feisty Klowns (6-6-0) vs. Cromer Angry Smash (12-0-0)
Getting the leagues best team this time of year is a bad touch of luck but the Klowns do have a chance if Simms can make good things happen against teh Saints adn the Lions remember that Kevin Jones is on their roster and feed him the ball ( you'd think that would be a priority with Joey Harrington and a washed up Jeff Garcia behing center). If Edgerrin James annihilates the Titans as expected it won't really matter what the Klowns do.

Dogs in the Bathtub (2-10-0) vs. WBI-461 (8-4-0)
WBI-461 gets a nice gift getting the relativly soft touch Dogs on their late season schedule to bolster thier playoff position. The Dogs got Micheal Vick but he's an up and down fantasy performer and there's an awful lot of second teir perfomrers on their roster. If WBI-461's starters perform up to snuff it shouldn't be close.

Stevie's Scapegoats (6-6-0)vs. Mechanicatz (4-8-0)
The Scapegoats season is going the way the Mechanicatz season went and they need the Mechanicatz to remedy what ails them. Jake Delhomme needs to step up to save the Scapegoats bacon.

Cooney Quest (3-9-0)vs. Wst Coast Style (4-8-0)
Both teams fortunes lay on the arm of their quarterbacks. Can David Carr repeat his 40+ performance for wst Coast Style and can Bad Brad Johnson continiue his second comming for the Vikings. Of course which quarterback performs beter will determine who will win but Ronnie Brown and Thomas Jones could be the final nail for the Quest unlees Fast Willie PArker destroys the BGengas again in his limited carries.

x=Clinched Playoff Birth
z=Mathematically Eliminated

Akshar Did It (5-6-1)Koko's X-Cats (5-5-2)
BOth teams playoff hope rely on their quarterbacks performance. Brunell could be insane today going against a very weak Rams defense while Ben Roethlisberger looks to exploit the shaky Bengals defense who could fall victim to Big Bens play action game if the Steelers have success in the running game. Speaking of the running game the X-Cats fortunes lay on if McGahee, Lamont Jordan and especially Micheal Pittman put up woirthy numbers.

Rhode Island Voltaic (9-3) vs.Your Ad Here (8-4)
Manning's number have beenup recently but if the Colts get out to a big lead they may just let up. McNair is questionalble for Your Ad Here and may or may not play. If he doesn't this one is settled before it's even begun.

Nor Cal Crushers (10-2) vs. Coco's Monkeys (4-8)
The Crushers bring the pain in this league too and so long as Thomlinson and Westbrook are productive that shouldn't really change but Plummer could struggle today in Arrowhead and that leaves the door open for the Monkey (more like unlocked with the gaurd on break). If Garcia and Dillon don't make it on the field it'll be like going to a race without an engine.

The Tacoites (7-5) vs. Jc's Evil Empire (6-6)
Brady vs. Bedsoe. Jones vs. Jackson. So what's the matchuo that could settle this one? How about the Colts D vs. the Titans offense. They could put the Tacoites over the top.

Stevies Scapegoats (4-7-1) vs. Feisty Klowns (7-5)
Carson Palmer may of may not be bigtime for the Klowns this week but Edgerrin James could be while Fast Willie Parker has to split carreis for the strugling Steelers running game which it doesn't take a genuis to realize what that'll do to his Fantasy production.

QC Elite (2-10)vs. sigmakittens (4-8)
The kitties need more from Jake Delhome and a god game from C-Mart wouldn't hurt niether but they be more helped by the inability of the (irnoically titled) Elite inability to produce points.

Pelan's Bobcats (3-9) vs. hurricanes (5-6-1)
The Bobcats could take this one with just Shawn Alexnader and Antonio Gates. Outside of the Pittsburgh Steelrs defense there isn't anyone on the roster really capable of double digit scoring.

Dunedain (5-7)vs. IwillCrushYou (5-6-1)
IWillCrushYou is stilll in playoff contention and are looking to their backs Portis and Larry Johnson to outperform Thomas Jones and Tiki Barber. Hasselback could make a difference as well but Dunedain needs more form Drew Brees to wi out.

FIRSTforce (9-3)vs.Cooney Quest (6-6)
FIRSTforce has the best player in their holster, Rudi Johnson but if Pittsburgh stops him cold Cooney QUest could steal it if Brett Farve gets hit and Kevan Barlow gets it together. Tony Gonzalez is a wildcard for FIRST force.

Team THRUST (7-5) vs. west coast style (6-6)
The worst thing wst Coat Style could do was play Byron Leftwich who is injured while they are in contention for a playoff spot. Because he is gone there is a massive hole in their roster and they are at a disadvantage. If Eli Manning does anything in the snow in the MEadowlands Team THRUST runs away with it.

Week XIII Postgame Analysis

Rhode Island Voltaic (9-3) d. Your Ad Here (8-4)
70-43
It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. It was YAH making the playoffs; it was YAH getting their butts kicked. Injuries made their only worthwhile scores a 16 from Ward and a 12 from Adrian Wilson. Rhode Island was playing a full squad, including Tampa’s 15, Dante Hall’s 13, Peyton Manning’s (ugh, I actually have to differentiate between the brothers these days) 12, and an overall good offense and defense. But interestingly enough, Rhode Island didn’t really gain anything from this (other than a cool looking five game win streak); YAH still hit the jackpot.

Akshar Did It (5-6-1) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-5-2)
67-43
“…Ben Roethlisberger looks to exploit the shaky Bengals' defense who could fall victim to Big Ben's play action game if the Steelers have success in the running game.” We’ll start off by handing a psychic point to Ed. Roethlisberger had 12 for the X-Cats thanks to play-actions, despite losing. “Speaking of the running game, the X-Cats' fortunes lay on if McGahee, Lamont Jordan, and especially Michael Pittman put up worthy numbers.” And there’s the problem: they combined for 5. ADI was running Houshmandzadeh and Tab Perry on the other side, combining for 25. Their defense added a total of 23, and everybody contributed something. We have the first .500 team to lose this week.

Nor Cal Crushers (10-2) d. Coco's Monkeys (4-8)
57-56
Lack of a QB killed the Monkeys. Lack of the standard Crusher offense (with the exception of Steve Smith’s 9) and losing Westbrook killed Nor Cal. So what made this game so exciting? Surprisingly, defense. The Monkeys had a respectable 34, but the Crushers kept even with 30. What would finally put the Monkeys in the hole is the fact that Nor Cal had a QB playing. A very close game, but yet another victory for Nor Cal.

The Tacoites (7-5) d. Jc's Evil Empire (6-6)
39-28
“Brady vs. Bledsoe.” Brady by 8. “Jones vs. Jackson.” Jones by 4. Both those go to the Tacoites. “So what's the matchup that could settle this one? How about the Colts D vs. the Titans offense. They could put the Tacoites over the top.” Indianapolis took the only decent score of the game with 15, putting the Tacoites over the top, scoring Ed another psychic point, reserving a playoff spot in the Tacoites’ name, and giving a second .500 team a loss this week.

Stevies Scapegoats (4-7-1) d. Feisty Klowns (7-5)
54-50
Palmer’s 15. James’s 12. It looked great for the Klowns until they just stopped playing. The Goats took over from there. They started with Brad Johnson’s 12, got a boost from Galloway’s 9, and ended with Antonio Pierce’s 16. But despite the Scapegoats crawling back from the lower tier these past weeks, they still get eliminated from the playoffs.

sigmakittens (4-8) d. QC Elite (2-10)
69-48
The Kittens had Seattle on Monday. That was prettymuch the game. It got them 32 points. Add some offensive support, and the Elite just couldn’t top it, even with the Giants’ 18 and Bennett’s 15.

hurricanes (5-6-1) d. Pelan's Bobcats (3-9)
Who would’ve thought one team could benefit so much from a Buffalo/Miami game? The Cane’s had Losman, Evans, and Chambers for a combined 47. The Bobcat’s main men (Alexander and Gates) combined for 22, and even Green contributed 9. But neither team had much else, making this a low margin, “do the math” scenario.

IwillCrushYou (5-6-1) d. Dunedain (5-7)
69-50
Both teams needed this win to stay alive in the playoff race. Dunedain really tried, but beyond a 10 from Brees, there wasn’t anything in the double digits. They’d need those those scores too, because IWCY came loaded with a Larry Johnson 19, a Clinton Portis 18, and a Kaeding 10. IWCY puts themselves closer to a playoff spot while knocking out Dunedain in the process.

FIRSTforce (9-3) d. Cooney Quest (6-6)
75-31
A grand total of -5 for the Green Bay dependency on Cooney spelled this one out early. Their greatest achievement was a combined 30 on defense. Actually, it was their only achievement. FIRSTforce didn’t really need Boller’s 9, Mike Anderson and Rudi Johnson’s twin 16s, and Carolina’s 9 (note that they would’ve won with just their RBs). But it looked really pretty, making this the third loss in the .500 bracket.

Team THRUST (7-5) d. west coast style (6-6)
42-35
Quite an ugly game for two playoff contenders. WCS’s problem was a 0 from the QB spot, and two more from the receiver slots. Their kicker had their best score with 10. Team THRUST at least had everybody score (albeit with a -2 from their QB). But what clinched the win as well as a playoff birth for them was 9 each from Jason Elam and Ricky Williams. This would also make the fourth loss this week for a .500 team.

Talk about a power shift in Week 14. With all the .500 teams losing, it muddled things up more than any other year going into the final week of the regular season. Six playoff spots are taken. Six teams are eliminated. The other eight are fighting over the last two spots. Here's how it is:
 • Nor Cal, Force, Rhode Island, Thrust, Tacoites, and YAH are all in the playoffs.
 • Klowns will clinch with a win.
 • IWCY, ADI, and Canes will outright clinch if they win and two of either Klowns, IWCY, ADI and Canes lose.
 • Currently, the X-Cats, WCS, Empire, and Quest are on the outside looking in. That means a loss eliminates them. They'll have to win and hope that the the three 6-6-1 teams all lose, or two of them lose as well as the Klowns losing.
 • Goats are out due to the Canes/WCS game making it impossible to finish better than ninth.
 • Kittens, Dunedain, Monkeys, Bobcats, and Elite are all out as well.

We'll now bring the schedule and fantasy scores into play. I highly doubt anybody's going to make up more than 75 fantasy points against another, and 100 is out of the question.
 • With that being said, with their low fantasy score, I can all but count Cooney out of the picture. The only way they can possibly clinch is if they win, IWCY, ADI, X-Cats, and Empire all lose, the Canes/WCS game ties, and they make up a 20 point difference on the Canes. It can happen, but I don't like the odds.
 • On the flip side of that, IWCY has a high enough fantasy score, that if they win, they're going to clinch a spot.
 • The Canes/WCS game will eliminate the loser. The winner has a good shot at, but is still not guaranteed a spot.
 • Let's face it: the only teams below the Klowns that can even hope to overtake them in fantasy points are WCS and the X-Cats. This means that even if they lose, if two of the 6-6-1 teams lose, they'll most likely be in.
 • For the X-Cats, WCS, and Empire, their best bet is if the three 6-6-1 teams all lose. Then, it'll come down to a fantasy point battle between any of them who manage to win for the last playoff spot.
 • All in all, with the exception of the Klowns, the WCS/Canes game makes it so that a loss among any of the teams fighting for the last two spots eliminates them.
 • I'm just going to hand the #1 seed battle to Nor Cal. Rhode Island and Force are both over 100 points behind them, so even if Nor Cal loses, barring a 200 pointer from someone, they'll be in the number one spot come playoff time. However, the two spot can be claimed by either Rhode Island or Force (not that it really means anything :p).
I'm sure the eight teams in playoff limbo will be watching their scoreboards very closely tomorrow. Good luck to you all. I'll be back earlier next week for the Week XIV postgame, as well as second half analysis and awards.

[WEEK 11 RESULTS
Koko's X-Cats (7-6-0) 107.43 Sigmakittens (4-9-0)96.14
The fading X-Cats desperately need this game to stay in the playoff hunt. They take a fairly big risk starting Ryan Fitzpatrick over Steve McNair (who is hurting yet again) while the kitties got Trent Green who usually feast on Denver in Arrowhead. What really could settle this is the two big name defenses who can score in bunches the Chicago Bears for the X-Cats and the Carolina Panthers for the kitties.Green did his party outscoring a game FItzpatrick 26.30 to 20.40 and he defenses battled to a near standstill with Carolina comming out on top 23 to 22 but it was the running backs that settled the matter with the X-Cats backs comming out on top 22.9 to 12.37.

JC's Evil Empire (9-4-0) 125.73 Beckham Pwns All (7-6-0)114.58
The Evil Empire enjoys pummeling teams into submisson with Thomlinson and Westbrook but Beckham isn't exactly hurting playing Tiki Barber and Chris Brown. If Kurt Warner goes gonzo for Beckham things could get very very intereting.
Big Ben was bigtime scoring a whopping 49.50 points which was good for them because both Thomlinson and Westbrook underperformed. Warner did his part scoring 37.97 points but thier backs underperfomed as well. Basically it did come down to the cquarterbacks.

Nor Cal Crushers (10-3-0) 157.80 Tolman (5-8-0) 83.38
The top scoring team in the league could be laying Tolman out early if Shawn Alexnader is Shawn ALexander and if Larry Johnson continues his audition for the CHiefs starting job. Tolman can compete with Jamal Lewis, Clinton Portis and Eli Manning especially if Carson Palmer struggles against Pittsburgh again.
Well Portis did his part but niether Manning or Lewis did thiers while Palmer, Alexnader and Johnson outscored the trio 74.57 to 32.4. It was pretty much over from there.

Pelans Bobcats (4-9-0) 188.71Tomahawks (9-4-0) 130.83
Peyton Manning is an up and down proposition week to week for their fantasy owners this year and that is a concern for the Tomahawks with Patrick Pass and Samkon Gado (especially up against the Bears) and the Bobcats are a live underdog with Tom Brady, Rudi Johnson and a possibly playing Corey Dillon.
Did I say live underdog? Oh man! Seattle went bonkers on Monday night scoring an amazing 50 points to go with CHris Chmbers (painfully hearty for my fellow Bills fans) 37.97 points, Lee Evans 28.30 points, Tom Brady's 23.80 points, Rudi Johnson's 19.37 points and Corey Dillon's 13.60 points for what I belive is a season high scoring total. It wasn't like the Tomahaks were total scrubs out there led by Manning's 29.67 points, the Indianapolis Colts defense's 29 points, Lofa Tatupu's 18.50, Lance Briggs 12.50 points, Samkon Gado's 12.30 and Antonio Gates 11.40.

Cromer Angry Smash (13-0-0) 122.77Feisty Klowns (6-7-0) 71.24
All you need to know about this one is that the Smash's defense crushed the Klowns defense 60.5 to 31.5. Outside of Chris Simms 15 points there was no production from the rest of the roster making things far too easy for the Smash.

WBI-461 (9-4-0 105.71Dogs in the Bathtub (2-11-0) 90.50
WBI-461 gets a nice gift getting the relativly soft touch Dogs on their late season schedule to bolster thier playoff position. The Dogs got Micheal Vick but he's an up and down fantasy performer and there's an awful lot of second teir perfomrers on their roster. If WBI-461's starters perform up to snuff it shouldn't be close.
Well it wasn't so easy after all. Both T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Baltimore Ravens defense both upped their game scoring 20.83 and 25 points each making things close but WBI-461's running backs outscored the Dogs recivers 12.77 to 4.20 and Kerry Collins outscored Micheal Vick 22.87 to 12.

Stevie's Scapegoats (7-6-0) 122.50 Mechanicatz (4-9-0) 101.67
The Scapegoats season is going the way the Mechanicatz season went and they need the Mechanicatz to remedy what ails them. Jake Delhomme needs to step up to save the Scapegoats bacon.
Well Jake Delhomme stepped up with 24.03 to Drew Bledsoe's 12.30 and the defense scored a 55.50 to 25 decisive victory to lead the SCapgoats to the win.

Cooney Quest (4-9-0) 87.24 Wst Coast Style (4-9-0) 59.47
Both teams fortunes lay on the arm of their quarterbacks. Can David Carr repeat his 40+ performance for wst Coast Style and can Bad Brad Johnson continiue his second comming for the Vikings. Of course which quarterback performs beter will determine who will win but Ronnie Brown and Thomas Jones could be the final nail for the Quest unlees Fast Willie PArker destroys the Bengals again in his limited carries.
Brad Johnson outscored David Carr 29.57 to 12.53 and there really wasn't much more scoring from eitehr team so I was right about the quarterbacks settling it.

[WEEK 12 ANALYSIS
Koko's X-Cats (7-6-0) vs. Cromer Angry Smash (13-0-0)
The X-Cats are virtually garunteed a playoff spot but a loss would "reward" them a sudden rematch with the brutal Smash. To avoid such a fate the X-Cats are just going to have to do what 13 other opponents failed to do and defeat the Smash. To do that they need Ryan Fitzpatrick, Willis McGahee and Julius Jones to go above and beyond what they do and hope Edgerrin James underperforms.

JC's Evil Empire (9-4-0) vs. Cooney Quest (4-9-0)
The Evil Empire are not making things easy for themselves by having an Out for the seaon Brain Westbrook playing especially with Thomlinson hurting and Brad Johnson throwing all over the weak St. Louis defense.

Nor Cal Crushers (10-3-0) vs. Beckham Pwns All (7-6-0)
Beckham can hang with the high flying Crushers with Kurt Warner and Tiki Barber but I'm not sure if Chis Brown will be up to snuff against the likes of Larry Johnson, Carson Palmer and Shaun Alexander.

Tomahawks (9-4-0) vs. Tolman (5-8-0)
Well at least we'll get a battle of the Manning brothers here if not in the Superbowl. Clinton Portis against the less than imposing Arizona Cardinals defense will be the deciding factor.

Sigmakittens (4-9-0) vs. Pelans Bobcats (4-9-0)
I doubt the the Bobcats will repeat last weeks 188+ point explosion but they did put everyone on notice that their roster is capable of scoring big points. The kitties who made a comback but have since collapsed have a suspended Eric Moulds taking up a roster spot thus weakening their chances.

Feisty Klowns (6-7-0) vs. Dogs in the Bathtub (2-11-0)
The Klowns hold very faint playoff hopes. For them to get in they need to have a record breaking week to get in. Doing without Erron Kinney does not help them at all.

WBI-461 (9-4-0 vs. Stevie's Scapegoats (7-6-0)
The Scapegoats have the advnatage due to their recivng duo of Marvin Harrison and Chad Johnson. Matt Jones is an absolute wildcard. Boldin could be big for WBI-461 but Koren Robinson is not reliable.

Mechanicatz (4-9-0) vs. Wst Coast Style (4-9-0)
Is this the week the Mechanicatz end their brutal slide? If Drew Bledsoe can get out of his slump yes. If not then they will lose simple as that. wst Coast Style isn't exactly packing heat either.

x=Clinched Playoff Birth
z=Mathematically Eliminated

Koko's X-Cats (5-6-2) vs. Coco's Monkeys (4-9)
If the X-Cats want to get into the playoffs they're going to need Big Ben Roethlisberger to come through against the Bears defense as weel as Willis McGahee and Lamont Jordan and SOMETHING from Micheal Pittman. The Monkey's may not get much from BJ Sams or Jeff Garcia but Corey Dillon could do some damage.

Rhode Island Voltaic (10-3) vs.IwillCrushYou (6-6-1)
WHat do they say: Paybak is a b? Well revenge is a MF and you can bet IWillCrushYou wants revenge and IWill CrushYou is a very real threat with their trio of backs who could destroy the Voltaic.

Nor Cal Crushers (11-2) vs. Your Ad Here (8-5)
So long as the Crushers have Thomlinson they are tough to beat. Cadillac Williams isn't the same back he was at the start of the season but he is more than enough for Your Ad Here who only has Mewelde Moore and a very hurt Steve McNair.

The Tacoites (8-5) vs. Akshar Did It (6-6-1)
Gary Jones could be the sword that slays the dragon known as the Indianapolis Colts. That's just one weapon the Tacoites have in their arsenal. Chad Johnson is another and Tom Brady. Akshar has T.J. Houshmandzadeh who can be up and down, Laveranues Coles who has been a big disappiontement this year and Tab Perry who may be something like a fourth or fifth optiono the Bengals.

Stevies Scapegoats (5-7-1) vs. Jc's Evil Empire (6-7)
The Evil Empire requires Drew Bledsoe to break out of his slump and Ronnie Brown and Steve Jackson to produce hearty numbers to get into the playoffs. Brad Johnson is the Scapegoats best bet and if he doesn't come through they are basically dead in the water.

QC Elite (2-11) vs. Feisty Klowns (7-6)
The Klowns have Carson Palmer. The Elite have the benched Trent Dilfer. That should let you know the direction this matchup is going.

sigmakittens (5-8) vs. Pelan's Bobcats (3-10)
This one is a pretty tight matchup but the Bobcats have the dynamic Shaun ALexander who is a difference maker and is capable of huge numbers any week. The kitteis really don't have anyone like that.

hurricanes (6-6-1) vs. west coast style (6-7)
For two teams on the cusp of a playoff birth both are sporting quite weak lineups and hardly look like playoff worthy teams. The canes do have a quarterback. The ever growing JP Losman whilt wst Coast Style has the injured Byron Leftwich. To add insult to injury they also have the suspended Eric Moulds to make things even harder on them.

Cooney Quest (6-7) vs. Dunedain (5-8)
The Quest are also on the cusp of a plaoff birth but also sport a very weak lineup and certainly don't look very playodd worthy. Dunedain has Drew Brees and Tiki Barber and they could be more than enough to destroy the Quest.

Team THRUST (8-5) vs. FIRSTforce (10-3)
This one is a toughie. Team THRUST has Eli Manning who is far better than Kyle Boller but RUdi Johnson and Mike Anderson are definately more capable than Ricky Willaims. This one could go either way.

Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football

IwillCrushYou (6-6-1) d. Rhode Island Voltaic (10-3)
95-61
In a game of pivotal proportions for IWCY’s playoff hopes, IWCY played as if they were already in the playoffs. While Rhode Island had a good game led by Peyton Manning’s and newly acquired Lofa Tatupu’s double 13’s (and The Bus’s 17 form the bench, GRR!), their offense and defense were only decent. And of course, they were up against the on-a-roll IWCY, who played a great game. “IwillCrushYou is a very real threat with their trio of backs who could destroy the Voltaic.” Well that’s putting it lightly. Larry Johnson, Clinton Portis, and Domanick Davis combined for 51 (26, 11, & 14, respectively). Hasselbeck added 17, and Detroit (wait, did I just say Detroit???) contributed 13. IWCY is able to all but guarantee themselves a playoff birth.

Coco's Monkeys (4-9) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-6-2)
65-29
With IWCY winning, the X-Cats would need a very impressive win to keep alive. Unfortunately for them, the Monkeys got that very impressive win. A respectable 25 on defense got the ball rolling, and Dillon (12) and Kennison (10) added the bigger numbers they needed. The X-Cats best score was an 8 by Philadelphia (which wouldn’t be so bad if there was some actual support). The Monkeys send the X-Cats home to Rochester for the postseason.

Nor Cal Crushers (11-2) d. Your Ad Here (8-5)
75-64
Now this is the game I’d expect to see of two teams already in the playoffs. It came down to who had more people with higher scores. YAH’s came from Tennessee’s 17, Graham’s 13, and Wilson’s 11. Nor Cal had the Cadillac’s 17, McGee and his 12, Robinson’s 11, and Peterson’s 10. The rest of the game was pretty even, so with one higher score, Nor Cal takes this one, and the #1 seed.

The Tacoites (8-5) d. Akshar Did It (6-6-1)
63-32
ADI was another team who could help themselves to a playoff spot with a win (and a loss from the Feisty Klowns). But when your QB and DEF both score -3, you know you’re not going to have much of a chance. Houshmandzadeh’s 8 was their only good score. For the Tacoites, both Brady and Feeley rebounded with 15s, and Winfield added a 14. ADI gets knocked out of the playoffs with its performance.

Jc's Evil Empire (6-7) d. Stevies Scapegoats (5-7-1)
66-36
The Empire was another team adversely affected by IWCY’s win. Their only hope was winning, the Klown’s losing, and making up 132 points. So this game was really just for fun. And what a fun one it was if you’re the Empire. 17 from both Washington and Bledsoe, 14 from Vanderjagt, and 10 from Danny Clark gave the Empire a nice lead. The Scapegoats with just Atlanta’s 11 couldn’t keep up. But despite this pretty win, the Empire is still out of the postseason.

Feisty Klowns (7-6) d. QC Elite (2-11)
47-46
It was plain and simple for the Klowns: win and in. So why did they have to make it so complicated against the Elite? The Elite had a pair of 9s on their defense plus 14 from Josh Brown. The Klowns were really only lucky to have their 17 from Minnesota. Their next best score would be a 7 from Edgerrin James. They should have lost, but they didn’t, getting into the playoffs in the process.

Pelan's Bobcats (3-10) d. sigmakittens (5-8)
67-50
For a game with both teams long ago mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, this was a pretty good one. The Pelancats led out with Gate’s 13, followed up by Alexander’s 12, and supported by 10 each from Wilkins and Reed. The Kitties had the high score of the match with Terry Glenn’s 18, and even got some help from Seattle’s 13. But their defense lacked, and their offense was only decent. The Bobcats would take their season closer due to all that.

west coast style (6-7) d. hurricanes (6-6-1)
53-40
With both IWCY and the Klowns winning, WCS was out and the Canes would have to win with 187 points. Neither happened. In fact, the only thing that happened for the Canes was Chris Chambers’s 18, and that was matched by WCS’s Harrison. But what really made WCS’s victory possible was that they had support from the rest of the team. Jurevicius had 9, Andra Davis added 8, and Hanson tallied 7. Sadly, both teams were heading home after this one.

Dunedain (5-8) d. Cooney Quest (6-7)
84-30
The Quest were ended by IWCY and the Klowns already winning, so this game just didn’t matter. Probably better too, because with their best score being Longwell’s 7, they were leaving the door wide open. And Dunedain marched their army through. “Dunedain has Drew Brees and Tiki Barber, and they could be more than enough to destroy the Quest.” They would’ve been with a combined 29. But let’s not turn away from Jimmy Smith’s 12, Zach Thomas’s 13, and Thomas Jones’s 10; they made Dunedain look good, and the Quest not so good.

Team THRUST (8-5) d. FIRSTforce (10-3)
45-38
I kinda expected a little more oomph from this second game with two teams in the playoffs. The big difference here was the QB spot. The younger Manning gave THRUST a 9 in his win against Philly. Force had Marques Tuiasosopo (apparently, Kerry Collins’s backup) score a less than stellar -3. Lucky for both teams, this game didn’t matter, and I have a feeling they’ll both be scoring higher in the playoffs.

And there you have it, the final standings going into the playoffs. Both IWCY and the Klowns held on to make it to the postseason. I'll have the second half analysis/awards and the playoff picture up between now and Saturday morning.

Second Half Awards/Analysis

Best of the best, second half.

I'll start off by showing what really happened in the past 7 games. This should help answer the question of why certain teams are in the playoffs, and why certain teams aren't. Though if anybody can explain to me how YAH is in the playoffs, it'd be appreciated :p.

Most Valuable QB

Carson Palmer (Feisty Klowns)
The possible MVP candidate did even better than the first half, and he did it with a bye too.

Honorable Mention: Peyton Manning
He had a slow first half (by Manning standards, anyway), but came back strong, leading Rhode Island's 5-2 second half.

Best Running Game

Larry Johnson & Clinton Portis (IwillCrushYou)
Consider the fact that these guys were on the outside looking in the first half. Now, IWCY is in the playoffs thanks to high scoring from these two.

Honorable Mention: LaDanian Tomlinson, Brian Westbrook, & Carnell Williams
Nor Cal is number one right now. But these guys had less of an impact this time around (heck, Westbrook is gone). Still, when together, these three were nasty.

Best Receiving Game

Marvin Harrison & Joe Jurevicius (west coast style)
They did a heck of a lot better than the first half, just missing out of the playoffs. Yeah, the rest of the team had its problems (including losing T.O.), but when WCS needed to be carried, those two were there.

Honorable Mention: Chris Chambers & Lee Evans
The Hurricanes' receivers were nigh unheard of the first half when they were 2-5. But these two led the Canes to a 4-2-1 second half, again, just missing the playoffs.

Most Valuable Kicker

Neil Rackers (FIRSTforce)

He's only missed once, and that was a longer one. The Cardinals may inhale audibly, but Rackers isn't the cause.

Honorable Mention: Mike Vanderjagt
Hey, Indy actually used their offense in the second half! Vanderjagt was a prime benefactor of that with PATs, as well as the Empire, despite just missing the playoffs.

Most Productive Offense

Nor Cal Crushers
Well DUH! The appropriately named Crushers had Tomlinson, Westbrook, the Cadillac, Plummer, Porter, Robinson, and Peterson. The first three were great, the other four were better than decent. And they're in first. What more can you ask for?

Honorable Mention: Pelan's Bobcats
You've got to be kididng me? The Pelancats? Hear me out. The Bobcats may have been the first team eliminated, but that was becasue they were a very late bloomer. They had two excellent players in Shaun Alexander and Antonio Gates. McCardell and Green picked it up in the second half. Even Wilkins contributed worthwhile pointage. Their downfalls came from the gaps due to injuries and a sub-par defense, but if that offense was at full strength in the first half, I imagine there would've been a different outcome.

Most Dominating Defense

Stevies Scapegoats

Hey, they won half a game more than the first half! Okay, not that exciting. But it's still very difficult to go against the defense of the Scapegoats. They chopped their defensive personnel down by one, but they still had Demorrio Williams, Antonio Pierce, and DeAngelo Hall adding big points. On the team side of things, they had Denver and Atlanta, two very competant defenses. Now if only they had an offense...

Honorable Mention: TeamTHRUST
Vilma, Fletcher, and June have been racking up points for them all season long. This would've probably won the top prize if they had stuck with Minnesota as their DEF. Wait, this seems oddly familiar...

It's at this time (you know, while I'm copying the defensive awards from my midseason reviews :D) that I now notice that I said Rhode Island had Atlanta in the first half. They actually had Tampa Bay. It's a typo. Just as good a DEF though.

Playoff Picture
IWCY came back from 17th place in the course of a four-game winning streak to make the #8 spot. But they have yet to face Nor Cal. Would that have cost them their playoff spot had they played? Thrust and Tacoites have yet to face either. This should be the most even match on the planet, but Thrust had a total of 90 more fantasy points over the season. Rhode Island and the misspelled Klowns played an excellent game in Week IX, with Rhode Island taking it by 1, and even that was after Yahoo corrected a scoring mistake. This could be the greatest matchup of the year if both teams play the way they've been playing. And finally, YAH started their season around Week XI, and even then, they lost to FIRSTforce by 10. Is YAH the odd man out with the low fantasy score?

Keep in mind that absolutely nothing that happened in the regular season matters now. For the eight teams fighting for the Kamen Bowl, it's a clean slate. So IWCY vs. YAH is very possible in the finals. But it's not a question of what can be, it's a question of what happens. And anything can happen.

I'll see you next week for the Round I postgame.

Yep, it's hats off to the Bobcats. If rankings were decided by Fantasy Points alone the Bobcats would have been in 9th place, barely missing the playoffs.

[WEEK 14 RESULTS
Cromer Angry Smash (14-0-0) 118.90Koko's X-Cats (7-7-0) 57.29
It wasn't going to affect thier playoff position but the X-Cats could have sent a message to the Smash with a win but like their beloved Bills they simply rolled over. I wotnessed first hand my demise when Willis McGahhe lost a battle with RIchard Seymour's knee and was rendered him ineffective (as if he was doing anything beforehand) and Ryan Fitzpatrick suddenly remebered that we was arookie quarterback from Harvard. No one on the Smash broke 20 but seven players made it into double digits to win going away.

JC's Evil Empire (10-4-0) 129.17 Cooney Quest (3-9-0) 104.03
The Quest made it closer than first suspected because New England smack the Bills all over the Ralph and Thomas Jones got some production against the Steelers but the Evil Empire's Mike Vnadegjagt outscored the Quest's Rain Longwell 17 to 17.5 and in spite of Thomas Jones 14.33 points the Evil Empire's running game outscored the Quest's 28.6 to 15.33

Beckham Pwns All (8-6-0)130.10Nor Cal Crushers (9-3-0) 125.70
Carson Palmers underwhelming week opened the door for Beckham to pull the upset even in spite of Larry Johnson's awesome 30.90 points. Led by Kurt Warner's 24.20 points and Tiki Barber's 22.50 pints to lead the upset.

Tomahawks (9-3-0) 150.91 Tolman (5-9-0) 107.80
ell at least we'll get a battle of the Manning brothers here if not in the Superbowl. Clinton Portis against the less than imposing Arizona Cardinals defense will be the deciding factor. and what a battle it was as Peyton took down Eli 35.20 to 30.93 but I totally missed tha call on Portis who did score a nice 15.57 points but who knew Gado had a 19.50 point game in him, Or jason Witten had a 15.70 game in him (we all knew that Antonio Gates had 21.70 points in him).

Pelans Bobcats (5-9-0) 150.96 Sigmakittens (4-10-0)88.06
The Bobcats have hit thier groove 12 weeks too late as they exploded again this week. Tom Brady was unstoppable and the running backs combined for 36.23 points and the recivers combined for 43.13 points. The kitteis never had a chance.

Feisty Klowns (7-7-0)98.76 Dogs in the Bathtub (2-12-0)90.39
Fo once the Dogs Fought back due to Micheal Vick's 33.23 points but the Klowns pulled it out due to five players in double digits to overcome Vicks producion but the Klowns missed the playoffs becasue they didn't score enough points to get in.

Stevie's Scapegoats (8-6-0) 117.94 WBI-461 (10-4-0)108.50
The Scapegoats succeed because of Marvin Harrison. It was close and he broke out for 24.13 points. It's that easy.

Mechanicatz (5-9-0) 117.33 Wst Coast Style (4-10-0) 83.60
Drew Bledsoe scores 40.07 points and Carnell Willaims scores 20.73 points and wst Coast Style goes meekly into the of season.

QUARTERFINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (14-0-0) vs.Koko's X-Cats (7-7-0)
Well teh X-Cat got absolutely STOMPED last week and get rewarded by getting the opportunity to get nuked again. Unless Willis McGahee backs up his boast and Steve McNair gets some help they really don't have a chance.

JC's Evil Empire (10-4-0) vs. Stevie's Scapegoats (8-6-0)
The Scapegoats defeated the Evil Empires earlier this season 150.67-140.90, Two aspects of this matchup stick out. WHat Ben Roethlisberger is capable of doing with his injured thumb for the Evil Empire and if Marion Barber and Warrick Dunn can outperform the awesome LaDanian Thomlinson and Domanick Davis.

Beckham Pwns All (8-6-0)vs.Nor Cal Crushers (10-4-0)
Another rematch from last week but this one could go differently. Beckham won becaue Carson Palmer played so poorly and that's not likely to happen two weeks in a row. The Crushers are the highest scoring team in the elague so obviously Beckham needs big weeks from Warner, Barber and Jimmy Smith to come through.

Tomahawks (10-4-0) vs.WBI-461 (10-4-0)
The Tomahawks defeate WBI-461 113.20-98.77 but no team is more concerned about what happend last week than the Tomahawkswho's fortunes ride on the arm of Peyton Manning who could be leaving early due to them clicnching home field. For WBI-461 needs Stepehn Jackson and Greg Jones to step up.

QUARTERFINALS

Nor Cal Crushers (12-2) vs.IwillCrushYou (7-6-1)
The Crushers and IWill CRushYou did not see each otehr this season.IWillCrushYou is a real danger to any team they play becasue of their three headed monster running game but it reamins to be seen if Moats can repeat last weeks perofmance. The Crushers have Thomlinson and Carnell Willaims performing in big games where their teams fortunes rely on their production so they could be insane as well. Look out for the Crushers Jake Plummer getting to feast on the demoralized Bills.

The Tacoites (9-5) vs.Team THRUST (9-5)
The Tacoites and Team THRUST did not see each other this year. Greg Jones could lay a serious smackdown on teh Niners on behalf of the Tacoites and TOm Brady performs big in big games but Eli Manning will feed on the very weak Chiefs secondary at home.

Rhode Island Voltaic (10-4) vs. Feisty Klowns (8-6)
Voltaic edged the Klowns 64.00 - 63.00 earlier this season. Peyton Mannning may or may not play alot on Sunday and that has to be a concern to the Voltaic while Carson Palmer will want to make up for last weeks dismal performance but the Klowns are also concerned about how much Edgerrin James will play on Sunday as well.

FIRSTforce (10-4) vs. Your Ad Here (8-6)
First FORCE defeted Your Ad Here 88.00-76.00 and alot of Your Ad Here's players are hurting. Look out for Mike Anderson going big on the Bills on national TV on Saturday.

I would have rather played anyone above him than him. So much for having an advantage by being the #1 seed.

Playoffs: Round I Postgame Analysis

Yep… that went well…

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
IwillCrushYou (#8) d. Nor Cal Crushers (#1)
82-64
Interesting point of fact: in the FIRST Robotics Fantasy Football League, the #8 seed has never lost in the first round (Nor Cal should know; they dominated the #1 Cooney Quest in the first round last year). So it was already looking bleak for the Crushers. Making it worse was IWCY’s hot streak that got them in the playoffs in the first place. People like Larry Johnson (20 this week), Hasselbeck (16), Kaeding (14), and Fitzgerald (10) have come through time and time again these past 5 weeks. Nor Cal had three big scores in Steve Smith’s 18, Chicago’s 13, and Plummer’s 12. But unfortunately for them, the rest of the team underperformed (to quote Cory himself, “major props to LT and Caddy for doing nothing”). IWCY used this to continue the tradition of #8s getting into the semifinals.

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
The Tacoites (#5) d. Team THRUST (#4)
67-64
This is the type of battle you’d expect from a #4/#5 match. Team THRUST’s game revolved around only one high score (New England pwning Tampa on Saturday giving them 16 points), but the rest of the team giving moderate numbers. Everybody broke 4. Everybody except the QB (the younger Manning). Would that be costly? Well, when you consider that Tom Brady got 16 for the Tacoites in that aforementioned game, you know something’s up. In this case, it’s the way the Tacoites played. They played with more high scorers, but less efficiency from their other players. Their other high scores were Stallworth’s 11, Chad Johnson and Indianapolis’s pair of 10s, and a 9 from the K spot. But then again, nobody else broke 4. In the end though, The Tacoites’ high scores outdid Team THRUST’s efficiency by three points, netting them a place in the semis.

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
Feisty Klowns (#6) d. Rhode Island Voltaic (#3)
64-38
The first of two rematches went horribly wrong for the higher seed. Rhode Island’s fate has relied on the Colts’ fate for a good portion of the season. Great when they’re winning thirteen straight. Not so great when they lose. Manning and Wayne only netted 9 points combined, and the rest of Rhode Island didn’t do much either. Their best scores were 8s from a D and K. The Klowns wouldn’t even need Stover’s 12 on Monday, but it looked pretty next to Palmer’s other 12 and four other players clearing 7. Long story short, this one was over quickly for the Voltaic.

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
FIRSTforce (#2) d. Your Ad Here (#7)
83-45
And this rematch went exactly as it did the first time. FIRSTforce ganged up early with big scores. The high score was Rudi Johnson’s 17, both Mike Anderson and Carolina put up 16, and David Garrard contributed 10 points. YAH came back with McNair’s 13, Graham’s 11, and… and… absolutely nothing. This is where YAH faltered. They forgot to pack a defense, and they left behind their offensive support. It took four games, but a higher seed is finally victorious.

Playoff Picture: Here's what it'll look like next week.

IwillCrushYou (#8)
vs.
The Tacoites (#5)

Feisty Klowns (#6)
vs.
FIRSTforce (#2)

IWCY/Tacoites should be an exciting game. They never faced during the regular season, and they're both riding five game win streaks. Not sure if the same can be said for the Klowns/Force game. They last faced in Week VII when the Klowns dominated to knock off the last undefeated team, FIRSTforce. But then again, FIRSTforce has done better over the course of the season, and is now the highest seed remaining in the hunt for the championship.

Nor Cal Crushers (#1)
vs.
Team THRUST (#4)

Rhode Island Voltaic (#3)
vs.
Your Ad Here (#7)

Nor Cal and Team THRUST never faced during the regular season. So I've got nothing to say about that one. On the other side though, I can say loads about Rhode Island/YAH, and it'll be unbiased! Rhode Island killed YAH just a few weeks ago in Week XIII (though YAH still got into the playoffs that week), and YAH tends to score low anyways.

But again, nothing in the past matters now (as noted by the fact that three lower seeds advanced this week). Anything can happen (hey, even Indy lost). So what will happen? Tune in next week for the answer.

QUARTERFINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (15-0-0) 98.76 Koko's X-Cats (7-8-0) 97.77
Man that was close! What kept the X-Cats so close was Brett Farve's BRUTAL performance on Monday night but fortunately for the Smash two tings went thier way. 1. They won the rcieving matchup 33.43 to 14.84 and 2. Paul Edinger scored a -.5 to Jeff Wilkins 2 points enabling the Smash to escape.

Stevie's Scapegoats (9-6-0) 93.80JC's Evil Empire (10-5-0) 90.76
The Scapegoats defeated the Evil Empires earlier this season 150.67-140.90, Two aspects of this matchup stick out. WHat Ben Roethlisberger is capable of doing with his injured thumb for the Evil Empire and if Marion Barber and Warrick Dunn can outperform the awesome LaDanian Thomlinson and Domanick Davis.
Well the running game matchup was basically even but Jake Dlehome outperformed Ben Roethlisberger 21.50 to 16.43. And therin lies the difference.

Nor Cal Crushers (11-4-0) 178.18Beckham Pwns All (8-7-0)149.66
Another rematch from last week but this one could go differently. Beckham won becaue Carson Palmer played so poorly and that's not likely to happen two weeks in a row. The Crushers are the highest scoring team in the elague so obviously Beckham needs big weeks from Warner, Barber and Jimmy Smith to come through.
Beckham went big again but unfortunately Kurt Warner's season ending injury ended any hopes for an upset. If he had stayed on the field who knows what would have happend.

WBI-461 (11-4-0) 117.87Tomahawks (10-5-0) 94.67
The Tomahawks defeated WBI-461 113.20-98.77 but no team is more concerned about what happend last week than the Tomahawks who's fortunes ride on the arm of Peyton Manning who could be leaving early due to them clicnching home field. For WBI-461 needs Stepehn Jackson and Greg Jones to step up.
Well Manning played a full game after all. He just didn't play very well and that opened the door for WBI-461 who got good production from Garrand and Anquaan Bolding to lead his team into the semi-finals.

SEMI-FINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (15-0-0) vs. WBI-461 (11-4-0)
The Smash defeated WBI-461 111.91 - 105.51 and in order to continue that success need more out of BRett Farve than interceptions and more out of Edgerrin James than just 25 yards. If Stepehn Jackson or Ryan Moats go off WBI-461 may be able to pull off the upset.

Nor Cal Crushers (11-4-0) vs.Stevie's Scapegoats (9-6-0)
The Scapegoats defeated the Crushers 132.79 - 108.70 earlier this season. The Crushers lowest point total of the season. Becaue they cannot rely on that happening again the Scapegoats need Jake Delhome to play absolutely out of his mind even more so today because the Crushers Carson Palmer is feasting on the demoralized Bills defense. Somehow Warrick Dunn nd Jerome Bettis must match Larry Johnson (who faces a very tough Chargers run defense) and Shaun Alexander (who may get the day off).

Playoffs: Round III Postgame Analysis

Coco Koko Bowl Qualification
Team THRUST (#4) d. Nor Cal Crushers (#1)
85-80
I should start with how awesome Nor Cal looked over the weekend. Especially with Terrence McGee taking 30. Chicago’s 14 and Jeremiah Trotter’s 9 would bring the defensive grand total to an unheard of 53 points. Add the Cadillac’s 13 and Plummer’s 8, and the game would be over. I mean, all Team THRUST could muster up was twin 14s from Torry Holt and Ricky Williams plus a 9 from Elam. But, I suppose that’s why they play on Monday: to make fantasy football more exciting (seriously, I can’t think of any other reason). Team THRUST got two huge scores from that game. It was New England’s 11 and Jonathan Vilma’s 14 that would plop them into the Coco Koko Bowl.

Coco Koko Bowl Qualification
Rhode Island Voltaic (#3) d. Your Ad Here (#7)
72-48
This is a game that was probably better fought on the bench. For instance, the usually reliable Peyton Manning didn’t do anything for Rhode Island; they’d have been better off playing Chris Simms with his 8. And imagine the look on the face of YAH when they discover Julius Jones scored 21 from the bench. Oh, and there was McNair’s -4 in the QB spot; YAH would have been better off playing the benched Kyle Orton. Back to the actual game though, and it was all Santana Moss for the Voltaic, scoring 26. A defensive 23 finished the job, giving Rhode Island the win.

Kamen Bowl Semifinals
IwillCrushYou (#8) d. The Tacoites (#5)
93-52
Wow… this wasn’t even close. The Tacoites had a sub par week to begin with, with only a 15 from Briggs, Chad Johnson’s gift of an 11, and Brady’s 9 being the only things of note from them. The only things of note from IWCY were a 20 from Larry Johnson, 18 from Vrabel, Portis’s 15, three 10s from Detroit, Fitzgerald, & Hasselbeck, and a 9 from Darren Sharper. ::catches breath:: Okay, perhaps using the word “only” was misleading. IWCY easily secures themselves a spot in the championship game.

Kamen Bowl Semifinals
FIRSTforce (#2) d. Feisty Klowns (#6)
71-50
There was some form of falter from both teams in this one. For the Klowns, only half the offense really played. A combined 30 came from the other half though (Stover, Toomer, & Palmer), so it wasn’t all bad. Unfortunately, the defense also wasn’t there. For FIRSTforce, their offense was slightly worse than the Klowns’ (the same thing with half not really playing; only a combined 27 from Garrard, Anderson, & Rackers), but their defense was excellent. Carolina and Brooking both put up 14s (and lets give props Bulluck’s 7), making this the difference in FIRSTforce’s victory.

Playoff Picture: Here comes Bowl Week!

Dunedain Bowl
Nor Cal Crushers (#1) vs. Your Ad Here (#7)
Another opponent who YAH just recently lost to (they lost by 11 to Nor Cal in Week XIV). YAH lost to both FIRSTforce and Rhode Island in the regular season, and then lost to them in the post season. Will the correlation hold?

Coco Koko Bowl
Team THRUST (#4) vs. Rhode Island Voltaic (#3)
Two teams who haven't faced yet. Rhode Island had a slight slump coming into the playoffs, but has wound up in this game. Team THRUST's only slump came midseason. Can they hold on long enough to take a bowl game?

Valley Bowl
The Tacoites (#5) vs. Feisty Klowns (#6)
The Tacoites won this one earlier against the Klowns in Week XII during their big second-half hot streak. Also, the Klowns have been pretty hit-or-miss the second half. Will they hit or miss this time?

Kamen Bowl
IwillCrushYou (#8) vs. FIRSTforce (#2)
This is the game everybody strives to be in at the beginning of the season. Of course, only two can make it. And these are the two. IWCY hasn't lost since Week X, and FIRSTforce was among their late-season victims. So it's simple: can IWCY finish their streak for the championship, or will FIRSTforce snap it for the title?

I'll be back next week for the final analysis.

FIRST Fantasy Football Plus League

SEMI-FINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (16-0-0) 147.14 WBI-461 (11-5-0)112.90
The Smash defeated WBI-461 111.91 - 105.51 and in order to continue that success need more out of BRett Farve than interceptions and more out of Edgerrin James than just 25 yards. If Stepehn Jackson or Ryan Moats go off WBI-461 may be able to pull off the upset.
Well Moats and Jackson didn't come through and niether did WBI-461. All it took was the Smashs recivers outscoring WBI-461's recivers 67.3 to 32.36 to ice that game.

Nor Cal Crushers (12-4-0) 199.64Stevie's Scapegoats (9-7-0)102.10
The Scapegoats defeated the Crushers 132.79 - 108.70 earlier this season. The Crushers lowest point total of the season. Becaue they cannot rely on that happening again the Scapegoats need Jake Delhome to play absolutely out of his mind even more so today because the Crushers Carson Palmer is feasting on the demoralized Bills defense. Somehow Warrick Dunn nd Jerome Bettis must match Larry Johnson (who faces a very tough Chargers run defense) and Shaun Alexander (who may get the day off).
Wow. That that wasn't even close.
6 players score over 20 points to the Scapegoats 1 player doing so.
It's that easy.

FINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (16-0-0) vs. Nor Cal Crushers (12-4-0)
Previous matchup
The Smash defeated the Crushers 143.04 - 137.29 in week 5.
QB
Brett Farve vs. Carson Palmer
Well because Palmer and the Bengals choked against the Bills last week they need to step up and play hard against the Chiefs who couldn't cover a bed with a sheet. Bad news for the Smash who are saddled with a Brett Farve who looks like he's totally lost it.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers

RB
Edgerrin James, Michael Bennet vs. Shaun Alexander, Larry Johnson
Not sure if Alexander will play on Sunday but I'm sure Larry Johnson will get alot of playing time against the Bengals who are lax against the run and Johnson has been very hot. James may or may not play much at all and Bennet has to share carries for the Vikings.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers

WR/TE
Larry Fitzgerald, Laveranues Coles, Santana Moss and Jeremy Shockey vs. Steve Smith, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce and Randy McMichael
Well the first problem for the Smash is Jeremy Shockey is out. So Fitzgerald, Coles and Moss to step up and they just may. Smith has been huge this year and Holt is one of the best recievers in the league but Bruce is comming to the end of his dis tinguished career and McMicheal i splaying in the New England snow. Not Miami's best element.
Advantage Cromer Angry Smash
K
Jeff Wilkins vs. Nate Kaeding
Both kickers have potent offenses at their disposal but Kaeding may have it a bit easier with Denver taking it easy while Dallas is battling for their playoff lives and can control the ball.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers
D
Jacksonville Jaguars, London Fletcher , Adrian Wilson and Mike Peterson vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
, Zach Thomas, Ronde Barber and Donnie Edwards

The Jags defense is tough and are playing a young team in the Titans while the Steelers are facing one of the most incompitent teams in the NFL the Detriot Lions. Fletcher and Peterson are tackling machines as is Thomas. Barber and Edwards could end up making a game changing play on defense that could take the Crushers over the top.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers

Final Analysis
The Smash have the best record in the league but they may have too many shortcommihngs to beat the very tough Crushers who would have to have alot of players come up short to lose.

So you replaced James and Bennet with Alscott and Pittman.
I can tell you from personal experience that you will get nothing much from Pittman (he burned me alot this year in the other league) and unless Tampa gets alot of 1 yard out attempts you won't be getting much from Alscott either. You are screwed no matter what.

Im not done with my lineup either.

I may bench Carson. So far I haven't been able to find a reliable report of whether or not he'll be playing, and if so, how much.

I debated benching Shaun, but he'll probably pick up at least 75 yards and a TD.

But Im not willing to risk taking a zero because Cincy wants to protect Carson's health for the playoffs, in what's essentially a meaningless game. Even if he starts, he'll probably only get a drive or two.

heres a couple tips:

edge isn't playing
Alexander will get at least one TD then sit (to break the record...don't want any back stabbing this year haha)
Carson will play...maybe a quarter maybe a half
and if you talk about my lions again...there will be some problems haha
yea they may be bad but thats no way to talk about them
hey you never know
joey blueskies may bring us a win and screw us in the draft today haha

those are my $0.02

In Pittsbugh? Not likely.
The Steelers need that gmae thu the Lions will die horribly.
Hey, they're doing you guys a favor. They beat them down bad anough it might anger the FOrd's enough to finally fire Millen.

I was going to play Jamie Martin.

He probably wouldn't have done too much, but bonus points from Martin to Holt/Bruce would have been nice.

Unless Jacksonville has an out-of-their-minds kind of game and Jeff Wilkins breaks some records I think you're in good shape.

There's something to say when you go undefeated and seed first :)

Besides, second is better than kicking everyone's butts in the regular season, and then getting blown out in the first round :p

Playoffs: Round III Postgame Analysis (Bowl Week)

Filing this under "better late than never".

It's Bowl Week! w00t!

Dunedain Bowl

Nor Cal Crushers (#1) d. Your Ad Here (#7)
45-34
This game wasn’t as close as the score makes it out to be. Especially since all of YAH’s score was derived from two players: Mewelde Moore with 10 and Randy moss with 17 (yeah, I’m just as shocked about that last one myself). Their defense was literally nonexistent, with a combined 0. Nor Cal really only had to go with the flow to win this one. While similar to YAH in that a lot of their score was derived from two players (Tomlinson’s 10 and Steve Smith’s 12), the Crushers actually had some support on both offense and defense (that defensive 12 helped a lot). Don’t let the scores fool you; the Nor Cal Crushers dominated this week and took a bowl game in the process.

Coco Koko Bowl
Rhode Island Voltaic (#3) d. Team THRUST (#4)
74-43
It was the most lopsided game in bowl week, and all Team THRUST could do was watch. Ricky Williams pulling 11 in New England was a nice surprise, and even Eli Manning’s and Roy Williams’s pair of 7s helped. But they wouldn’t get any more help from the offense, and the defense only combined for 16. The Voltaic’s Tampa Bay DEF outdid that themselves with 17. Jerome Bettis’s three short touchdowns (plus 40 yards rushing) added 20 points. John Kasay nabbed 14 from the K spot. And Peyton Manning didn’t play. But what’s this? Rhode Island actually benched him for Chris Simms? Madness! Actually, Simms got 10, so all is good in Rhode Island; they win the Coco Koko bowl.

Valley Bowl
The Tacoites (#5) d. Feisty Klowns (#6)
34-33
On the flip side, this was the closest of the bowl games. And despite it being low scoring, it was actually a pretty good game. These two teams were quite even. The Tacoites got 12 from their K slot, and 10 from Indianapolis for their big scores. The Klowns had 10 from their kicker and 13 from Antonio Bryant. The rest of the game was dead even, and by all rights and means, the Klowns should have won. But they played the Cincinnati DEF on their one terrible day. Net result from that: -2. That was the difference, and it allowed The Tacoites to win third place.

Kamen Bowl Championship III
FIRSTforce (#2) d. IwillCrushYou (#8)
79-66
Is it really a stretch to say that this was the game of the year? I mean, it’s the championship game, and it was a well fought game on top of that. IWCY brought to the table the same thing they’ve brought the past six weeks. Larry Johnson led their charge with the high score of all teams this week, a 27. Clinton Portis would add his 17, and Larry Fitzgerald tallied another 10. But in a strange twist, IWCY’s game just plain stopped after that. This left the door wide open for FIRSTforce. Their defense was beautiful (a combined 39 from Brooking, Bulluck, and Carolina). Everybody but their QB would add positive points on offense, including DeShaun Foster (‘bout time) with 14 and Vernand Morency (who?) with 12. All of that was good enough to get through the hole IWCY left them. Winner and champion: FIRSTforce.

Congrats to FIRSTforce are in order. I'll be back sometime between now and Super Bowl Sunday for the final analysis and the awards ceremony.
