Off Season Vex Event: Robotics Decathlon
It was a bit hard to figure out the best place to post this, but this might be of interest to Northern California FLL, Vex, and regular ole FRC teams.
West County Robotics is running its first annual Vex Decathlon on Dec 10th. Kickoff will be Sept 17 at de Anza High School, 5000 Valley View Road Richmond, CA 94803. We are doing this for all the local middle and high schools who cannot afford to run across a few states to compete; hence, this local competition. We are looking into fielding a team for the Vex Challenge as well. We modeled the game after the Olympic Decathlon which has remained unchanged for at least a few years. We plan to have our games remain unchanged for at least a few years. Our draft rules are at http://contracosta.edu/robotics/vex/. Updates will be made to the page at that URL as needed. One of the big ones will be a bill of materials for the field elements and assembly instructions. Our biggest design goal was to create a fun, low cost competition. The field elements will be designed to be used year after year, to be transportable, low cost, and easy to assemble. |
Re: Off Season Vex Event: Robotics Decathlon
The Falcon Robotics team 842 is also holding a local competition. We are in the process of contacting FIRST to figure out if we could get a Regional Competition out here in the West part of the US. No answer yet.
