Boilermaker Regional site

Hello people!

Below is the Boilermaker Regional website. Please be patient, as we are updating it continuously. Check back periodically for new updates.

http://first.purdue.org/boilermakerregional

The event will be held March 16-18, 2006 at the Purdue University Armory. Awards ceremonies will be held in Elliott hall, as they were last year. I hope to see many of you there! If you have any questions, please feel free to post or PM me.

:)

The Boilermaker website has been redone and updated, so check it out to see what's going on.
It is continually being updated with information as it's available.

Please encourage your friends and family to volunteer if possible! They can do so by going to VIMS thru www.usfirst.org.

Be sure to check out the scholarship opportunities available at the Boilermaker Regional. The deadline for the Boilermaker scholarships is February 1, 2006.

Be sure to apply...you could certainly win :) Many other regionals offer scholarships as well. Applications for the Boilermaker Regional Scholarships as well as a link to the master list of FIRST-related scholarships is on our website:

http://first.purdue.org/boilermakerr...ge=scholarship

If your team is looking for a second regional, or are wait-listed for your event, consider coming to West Lafayette in March...we still have some spots open! You'll want to hurry though...you have to commit by the end of January.

Thanks!

There are a couple of things that would make it better.

1. Have the Purdue Glee Club or Purdue Band perform the Star Spangled Banner.

2. Invite and welcome the Governor, Legislators and officials from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and Indiana Department of Education.

Go Boilers

Both were done last year. #2 will be done again this year. There are conflicts with #1 that prevent it from happening but it would be cool. (actually not sure if the Band was asked, but being spring break it's difficult to round a lot of these groups up).

Has anyone been contacted about being accepted as a volunteer or is it still too soon.
I want to be an inspector again this year :) It was fun.
It was really fun telling a rookie team that there robot was too light and they needed to add weight :D

The lead volunteers have already been selected. Did you sign up using VIMS?

Actually, we need Field Reset, Pit Administration, Safety and Queuing volunteers for any or all of the three days, and Robot Inspectors, especially for Thursday. Wayne, if you have signed up, you should be receiving something shortly.

It's just not an Indiana regional without that wig and silly pants. ;)

I assure you and others - the Boilermaker Regional has an awesome group working to make it even better than last year. And if you were there last year, you know just what that means. :)
