Hey students, we need your help!

If you're planning on attending the Boilermaker Regional (as a student), we'd like to fill out a quick demographics survey. Collecting this information helps us communicate the success of the event to our sponsors and will help us improve the Boilermaker Regional in the future.

You can fill out the survey anonymously, but if you give us your contact information you will be entered in a drawing to win a basketball autographed by the #10 Purdue Women's Basketball Team! You won't receive any information from Purdue or our partners unless you indicate that you want to.

Thanks!

I recommend filling it out - usually I dislike surveys because they take a while, but this one took about 30 seconds.

Hey guys!

1319 Golden Strip Robotics can't wait for the Boilermaker Regional!!

After attending Florida, Indiana should be pretty cold but we'll manage! ;)

Just wondering if any veteran teams could shed some light, tips, or advice about the Regional.

Being a South Carolina (woo-woo) team we've never been that far north so we are really wondering about it!!

Thanks and can't wait to see y'all there!!! :)

Robochick -

I'd be happy to tell you a bit about the area. First of all, I'm very sad to tell you that we have VERY low temperatures right now (30s & 40s) after a short warm phase earlier this week. Bring warm clothing, especially because you have to wait outside the armory in the morning.

There are a lot of places near campus to go eat, most of them within 5-10 minutes walking, and there is also food in the Armory itself. If you ever need a food recommendation, there are various areas around, and also somebody from Purdue FIRST Programs or a veteran team will be happy to direct you. There is definitly food in the area though, and fairly affordable (Jimmy John's, McDonalds, Fazoli's, etc).

BMR has a lot of enrichment programs, mainly including tours of campus and various demos. I thought some of them would be totally over the top, but were actually really interesting. You may also want to discuss parking with anybody who's not coming on a bus.

Good luck!

Who can forget the mind blowing 4 match (1 tie) final's last year. Team Beatty #71 hit the deck with a big thud but their alliance still won the match. Looks like they will be in Chicago instead of at Purdue this year but I am sure there will be other great teams there.

One of our team's favorite places to eat last year, a few miles from Purdue, is Triple XXX Root Beer restaurant. Great breakfast for our entire busload of team members, great burgers and of course root beer.

We are sorry we can't be there this year as our home regional, Peachtree is the same weekend.

Amy Prib and the Purdue crew there put on a great weekend. Elliott Hall is a beautiful place for the awards. What a great dinner with unbelievable choices we had Friday night at the Purdue Fred & Mary Ford dining court. Then over to the gymnasiums for a concert and lots of games & give aways. One give away was rubber corn cobs which our team promptly played dodge corn with.

Have Fun!

Dave

Not quite a few miles, unless you meant a few miles from you're hotel. Triple XXX is easily within walking distance (if the weather is nice) from the regional venue. The only tip I have is to watch where you park. The police department on campus is very stringent when it comes to violating parking rules. Just make sure you read the signs and you should be good. I've been keeping an eye on the weather and it appears that this weekend should be pretty nice, except Thursday where there is a chance of rain/snow. Unfortunately our "warm spell" has ended so expect the temperatures to be in the 30s-40s during the day and in the 20s-30s in the evening. It's been pretty windy the past couple of days too, so hopefully that settles down also. Hopefully everyone has an awesome weekend and good luck to those competing. I plan on showing up atleast one or two days to take pictures and whatnot, so once the regional is over expect there to be a lot of pictures uploaded to CD-Media.
