This is a poll, I want to see what exactly you call yourselves

Ok, so aside from what everyone calls us (including ourselves) a.k.a. First-a-holics, what else do you call yourselves? I prefer geek, and i've heard nerd is a popular one too. If there isn't your choice in the poll, then just post it! Any comments would be appreciated too! Thanx yall!!

It is my oppinion that everyone has nerd-like tendancies, it's just a matter of how they are shown.
BTW, you misspelled y'all. It's a southern contraction.

Flair 23-07-2001 23:10

Carolyn,
I know I mispelled it, I did this because if I didn't, then people might think I'm from the South. However, I live in MI, so I can't spell anyway! thanx for the call though!

What's wrong with being from the south? I've lived in the south my whole life. Yankee!

misunderstood

I don't think you understood me very well. I was trying to distinct me from people who live in the South. Because I wouldn't want any confusion. It is perfectly fine, in fact my brother is stationed there in the Navy, so I can't say anything bad about the South. Even if I wanted to. Once again, sorry for the confusion

Ya know I could really get ya on this one. I think I'll let it slide this time. I'm really just jokin' with ya. I have many friends who are yankees, my dad is one.

Where is he stationed? If you say a little town in Va. I'll laugh sooooooooo hard. Then, once I catch, my breath I'll explain why.:)

EddieMcD 24-07-2001 14:36

You realize a geek is one who bites the heads off chickens, right?

That's why I prefer nerd. Plus, when I was about seven, some of the girls used to call me "nerd boy". I look back on that now and laugh.

mike o'leary 24-07-2001 14:53

i definately have nerd and/or geek-like qualities, but i dont think ive ever been called either. or at least not a whole lot. ive been called crack-head and stuff like that though. and ninny, that too.
mike who was forced to go with other

Geek was a term originally used to describe circus performers, we now call them freaks.
Oh! Flair, don't worry about the misQ. It happens all the time on the forums beacuse you don't know how a person means for something to be taken. Like when you speak people can hear the inflections in your voice and know if your joking or not. No biggie.

Carolyn Duncan 24-07-2001 22:06

He is stationed in North Carolina, but definently a little town, so you can start laughing!

*twitches* Where in NC?? Now I'm curious ;) My father was in the military, and I was born in good ol' North Carolina - in a rather small town...or, well it was small when we were there. Haven't been back since.

*definately plans to move back south as soon as she's finished with this college thing at RIT*

Well, the little town I was refering to is not so little, I meant to put it in quotes. I was thinking Norfolk because I used to live there. We used to have fun watching people walk by and picking out the Navy people (it was really easy)

geek. and proud of it.
