WORLD SERIES 2005

Ok people...realisticly, who do you think is going to win? Astros or White Sox?

The Astros

I feel that they have the better of the two pitching staffs, and a lot more expirence with Pettite and Clemens, and also with Oswalt. They have clucth hitters in the Killer B's and others, all though the Sox have Credy who has been sick lately. I think it will be a low-scoring series but the Astros pull it out in 6 or 7.

The Astros managed to pretty thoroughly dominate the Cardinals, who had the best team ERA in the NL, iirc. I think that the Sox pitching staff is a bit better than the Cards, but the 'stros were so impressive against them that I have to give them the edge.

The Stro's will win in 6 games they have the better pitching staff between the two of them they have the Rocket himself Roger Clemens. Plus I want the Soxs to lose because they swept my favorite team the Red Sox.

I absolutely LOATHE the White Sox, and am catching all kinds of flak for being a Cubs fan right now. Therefore, I am hoping and praying that the Astros make the Sox run back to their mommies in the Southside, crying.

I hate to admit it, but the Sox did pretty well against the Angels. They could actually be a threat to the Astros. I'm hoping it was a terrible fluke.

p.s. - Cubs Forever

Fan of the most exciting baseball team $45,000,000 can buy and the 2006-2012 AL Central Champions - Cleveland Indians

The White Sox have used up their share of good luck and bad umpiring breaks this year. Go Astros.

But maybe Chicago should win. If one more "curse" is erased, maybe people will start to point out that Cleveland as a three-sport town hasn't had a championship since 1964. That's almost 120 combined years of futility from three different sports franchises. What are the odds of that? Talk about a town that is due....

Hm... Cleveland is a terrible sports town. LOL. The Indians, Browns, and... I forgot... oh right... Cavaliers. Maybe if they changed their names to something cool... like, the Braves, Titans, or... I donno.. I don't like basketball... they could win something. (I know the Titans stink this year)

Anyways... back to baseball... the Astros will definitely beat the Sox. Eventhough the Sox are my 2nd favourite team. Braves first.. can't go wrong with the most consistent team.

Re: WORLD SERIES 2005

I gotta go with the Stros. The pitching staff for a 7 game series is perfect. While the sox can matchup well, i just dont think they have the complete depth in the staff.

Offense wise...both are decent. I personally like the the Sox offensive better. The Stro's have been clutch recently though, getting big games from Backe and many others. I love Scott Podsednik, he may not be a great fantasy player, but ive had my eyes on him for a few years now. He's the perfect leadoff man. He's got fantastic speed, and a great mind ofr the game.

Stro's in 6.

Stro's in 5 if they can take the first 2 off Chicago.

However i'll say this. If Podsednik can steal 2 in the first game. Or score twice. I think thatll pave way for the rest of the series.

Therefore Sox in 7.

I think its a toss up...Sure I want to see a Chi-town team win...but Bagwell and Biggio have been around forever, heck even Clemens deserves to win. I'm just going to root for both teams...lol

If the Astros did not have Clemens, I would root for them. While he is a good pitcher, he as always seemed to be a major league jerk.

Go Chicago.

LOL thats because he is. All the Astros have is Clemens...hes one of the best pitchers...but id have to say that he is uptight jerk in m.l. Im not just saying this because i am a die hard White Sox fan...but the sox will easily beat the astros. alot of people dont want to admit that because they dont want it to happen (cubs fan lol just remember its ok to be in the 3:30 club...3 million fans and 30 games out of first). With konerko, dye, and crede...we are unstopable lol
you have to admit that the sox right now have awsome pitching...and the astros...well their pitching...all they have is clemens. We will have to see what happens...its going to be really close.

Umm...I'm afraid you're mistaken.

They have Clemens, Pettite, and Oswalt. Those are 3 of the best pitchers in the game. Clemens was lights out all year, even injured. Pettite was unhittable after the allstar break. Oswalt is a back to back 20 game winner.

All in all, their starting rotation is every bit as good as yours.

Their hitting isn't fantastic, but they've put up runs when they've counted the most, with Bagwell, Berkman, Biggio, and Burke.

Their pen is every bit as good as yours, if not better. Lidge is as lights out as they come. If you're losing in the 7th or 8th, you might as well start packing up and head home, cuz these guys don't blow many games.

As much as you may like the Sox, it's still crazy to say that they will "easily" beat the Astros. I don't particularly care for either team, so I'd like to consider myself fairly objective, and I just don't see any world series victory as being easy, no matter who the teams.

There's only one flaw in your logic, during the regular season how many times were the Astros shut out when Clemens pitched? Even if he threw a complete game and gave up 1 run, if the Astros get shut out then they lose. Also with the Chi Sox taking the first two...the Astros will need to get some giddy-up in a hurry, or this is all but over.
