Re: facilities
Yes I have to say all you teams thast have gotten remodelings done at you school they are nice. Althought out Junior High is where we build our robot and what we us is in three rooms that are all next to each other they all are in bad condition. All of our schools in our district got remodeled but the state of the art equipment in the 70's in our wood shop just doesnt cut it. And for somereason when we uyse the band saw to cut metal and we use our own metal cutting blade the teacher will take it and hide it so we can't use it. Well beside that we atleast have a teachers lounge where we have our meetings and there is numerous vending machines as well as fun game like ping png.LOL. Ourcomputer lab we have has some pretty old computers in there we basically have two computers that we have on carts that we plug into hte network in that room. None of our places of building are great but we have been making high class tough robtics for I believe 7 years.

Re: facilities
Even with our rookie status, we got really lucky - one of the branch campuses of the local college (M-TECH, not michigan tech, they need to come up with a better acronym or something) has a department that pretty much has dedicated itself to our project after school hours (it helps that all three of the instructors there are team mentors). Anyways we have a computer lab/conference room, and a rather well equipped room for building and the like. Though I dont really know how much fabrication we'd be able to do. Of course its only week one, and no one ahs really shown us around yet, I know that other parts of the campus there have all kinds of facilities, since its an engineering/manufacturing building in the first place.

Re: facilities
Our high school has a wing devoted to tech related courses and when we have robotics we usually use up the main part of the wing. This way each sub-team has unique location to work. All the rooms have about 25 computers in them with the needed software. We also have a room in the wing devoted to robotics with everything in there all our old robots and parts. And a small shop with band-saws, drill presses, sanders, and a couple chop saws.

Re: facilities
Our team took over a teacher's lounge a few years ago and now we use it as the robot building room. Both of our team's mentors have classrooms with full computer labs so we've been lucky. The robot building room gets very messy unless we clean right away because there's so much stuff in it but we're glad to have it.
