Don't worry. I'll already have a GREAT wakeup call trying to scout teams and Setting up and organizing the First Scouting Network Down There. Thanks anyways.

On A Side Note:
Does anyone have an idea how long it will be open on Wed. to setup?

Thanks,

:) GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU THERE! :)

Approximately zero hours and zero minutes. 7:45 AM for your three uncraters, 8:30 for everyone.

On a side note, I do know that after the morning show on Friday and FIRST throws us out, 1293 will be headed to the Russell House (1400 Greene St--about half a mile from the Colonial Center, uphill but tolerable) for bagels. Einstein Bros. opens at 7:30, but the Russell House opens at 7:00. If you're in need of a good and quick breakfast place, I can wholeheartedly recommend them--especially if you don't mind a little walking or have your bus with you. (Just don't plan on repeating that ride for lunch--they close the gates to Greene Street during the day Thursday and Friday.)

Oh, and another thing--all that annoying road construction from last year is over and done with. There's a little bit on Park Street, but that's right behind the Carolina Coliseum--you can steer around it without incident. (Left turns off Blossom might be a little trickier, but it's still manageable.)

Billfred...you are right...no set up on Wednesday..unless you want to show up and help with the field setup on Wednesday mid morning....We will be working all day (night?)...what ever it takes to be ready for Thursday a.m.

We will be opening the doors to the Colonial Center at 7:45 to let three team members...remember the make up has to be two students and one adult to go down to the floor for uncrating. Then at 8:30 the Pits open (enter through the rear of the Colonial Center...for all new comers, you can pull around with your trailers or just get in line with your stuff and enter the rear overhead door...level walk to the pits..easy, easy, easy. We will be meeting and greeting the teams as they arrive on Thursday a.m. prior to the doors opening....our hope is to have a listing of the teams that owe any shipping charges to let you know that before you hit the floor. Oh...one other thing...all teams should avoid trying to bring in large tool boxes through the front doors of the Colonial Center....Why?...well you can't get a large tool box down the stairs to the floor...you have to be escorted to the freight elevator and it is quite a walk...best to have one of your team members bring anything large in through the rear door when the pits open....a lot easier and quicker.

For all of the teams traveling in...be safe and get as much rest, as possible...I know that is hard.

It has to be that exact makeup? Everything I had read seemed to indicate three warm bodies without regard to race, creed, or possession of high school diploma. (I only ask because we'd planned on two mentors and one student.)

We were given that information during our walk through...I will check on this tomorrow to verify and post update....It may not matter if there is at least one mentor (two may be fine) within the group of three. Frank

Were on our way back to the Right coast for more fun (week 3) at the Palmetto Regional. We're a little jet lagged and we have a major sugar buzz (The Jelly Belly candy plant is in Sacramento) but our 'bot survived an it's ready to go. We just hope it gets shipped in time (it was held in Memphis on it's way to Sacramento and didn't arrive until 7:00 p.m. on practice day).

Anyway, we made the final tournament for the second week in a row and we're feeling pretty good about that. See 'ya in a couple days ......

With the addition of a few more teams, will there be a practice field this year?

The concession stands nearest the entrance are normally open for lunch. Expect to pay $5-8 for a decent meal.

There is a preorder option, but I think the deadline has passed on that one.

If you want to save a few bucks, there are a few other places within two or three blocks.
