When your mentors and coaches say "Use your English class to draw concepts, write down strategies, and think up what you want to do. English class is not as important as math and science.. :P" funny thing.. It's a nice idea, and if you know how to play your cards right.. you can get an A in the class while doing that.

You know you've been in FIRST too long when you pick up a CD and one of the songs makes you go "Hey, isn't that one of the songs they play at competitions?"

(Sirius from The Alan Parsons Project, for the record. They play it during transition periods sometimes, right?)

-- When someone says they bought a CD and you wonder how the heck they managed to buy the Chief Delphi team.

-- Contemplating the above question for 5 minutes before realising they mean "compact disc" because you just spent way too much time working on the bot and not enough time sleeping.

...When being on Chief Delphi in the wee morning hours doesn't seem odd, but rather normal, you know you are a FIRSTer. :p

...When you explain to your math teacher why you didn't do their homework because you were at robotics, and then go on to explain in depth the amount of math and physics used when calculating everything out, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When in the company of non-FIRSTers, the topic of a conversation seems to somehow always comes back to FIRST, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When some of your non-FIRST friends ask you how was robotics, and you start telling them - in depth - about AndyMark's cool new products, (and they have no idea what "shift-on-the-fly" or "omni-wheels" mean ), you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When you are feel shocked when you meet someone who doesn't know who Dean Kamen, Woodie Flowers, or Dave Lavery are, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When you think owning one of these giant Mountain Dew cans is cool, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When you get out your calculator to find out exactly how much Mountain Dew would fit in the above can, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When donuts, Dew, and pizza become food groups, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When you force yourself to get less than four hours of sleep per night during January and February each year, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When someone says CD and you think of a chiefdelphi.com instead of those plastic disks, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When teachers stop asking you what all those drawings mean on the back of your homework and/or tests, you know you are a FIRSTer.

...When you know the rules of all the FIRST games going back at least four years before you became involved in FIRST, you know you are a FIRSTer.

10 things that tell you if you've been in FIRST too long (courtesy of 677):

1. You know all the words to the Vengaboys Party Album
2. Red Bull and coffee are food groups
3. You start incorporating you mentors' mannerisms into you own everyday life
4. Your mentors no longer feel bad about calling you names
5. 3 AM becomes an early time to go to bed
6. When "CAR" does not refer to a moving vehicle
7. When one of your team members is considered a possession of VEX
8. When baked goods are the preferred form of currency
9. You spend Easter Sunday inside Home Depot looking for the PERFECT pair of safety glasses
10. You know stories about your mentors' childhoods complete with song and dance

you know you are addicted when you have a hard time remembering that you kow people outside of your teammates..that you have a job to do... and someone has to TELL you to leave school...tee hee... i'm not a builder on the team... just the crafty creativity leader person... ish... thing... errr... team squirrel... yeah... lets stick with that lol :D

When you draw out the playing field in a snow drift, on a foggy window or anything you can to bounce ideas around.
When you keep changes of clothes in your car to be able to stay the night and still keep up appearances.
When you blow off a major concert that you spent big money to get tickets for.
When you throw parties for Kickoff, to celebrate Auton working (in any way), send off, or any other reason you can find...
