River Rage - Thank you Teams!!

On behalf of everyone who worked to make River Rage 9 a big success I would like to thank all the teams for coming and making this the biggest, and in my opinion, best River Rage yet. THANK YOU TEAMS!!

See you all next year!

Re: River Rage - Thank you Teams!!

I would also like to say thank you to everyone that made RiverRage 9 great.
  • First of all, I would also like to thank everyone who gave a big cheer to Aaron Lussier, who left on Sunday for Boot Camp, but took the time out on Saturday to say goodbye to his FIRST friends. Stay safe out there!
  • Thank you to all the teams that competed, and thanks to all who dressed up! (I loved the Jedi & Pirate fight!)
  • Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event run as smooth as silk. I would personally like to thank my queueing/pit administration team, none of which had ever volunteered before, and half of which had never seen FIRST! You caught on quickly and adapted to everything we threw at you. Great work!
  • I would also like to thank everyone who ran on stage when we announced that we were giving the tetras away. I haven't seen hustle like that since Mandy Moore came to Nationals ;)
  • I would also like to thank everyone involved for taking part in the "Rocky Matchup". We were short one team, and decided on the fly to have the unpicked two teams form Alliance #8, which played Alliance #1 in the quarterfinals. If Alliance #8 won, they were allowed to take the #1 seeded team with them and advance to the semifinals. This allowed everyone to get a chance to play in the finals, and it went off without a hitch. Thank you again!

I've heard some great ideas for next year already, and I can't wait for RiverRage 10!

Re: River Rage - Thank you Teams!!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to add to the thank you's from River Rage staff...

1. Thank you to all the referees who all showed up pretty much on a notice of a day or two! We fell into a bind early in the week when our head ref had to bail out due to personal matters...fortunately we were able to overcome this with an excelent head ref and crew on short notice and they did an amazing job! THANK YOU!

2. Thank you to the queing crew...the new venue was large, but thanks you to all of you, we managed to keep things pretty much on schedule!

3. Thank you to the teams who dressed up and dressed up their robots. I especially wish we had two trophies...one for each TJ and FORCE because the Pirate and Star Wars costumes were amazing...not to mention absolutely hillarious when the sword fight ensued! It was a great moment in River Rage history that will never be forgotten!

4. Thank you to the teams in general! River Rage reached 23 teams this year, and is getting bigger and bigger! You guys made it fun, exciting, and graciously spirited...it was an amazing event. THANK YOU!

5. To all the Manchester teams who pitched in to volunteer for the event, thanks to you two, you guys are a blast to work with!

Next year River Rage will reach year 10! It promises to be a very special event. Make sure you are ready for it, because I promise you...if this year is any indication of what to expect in the future, we are in for something breathtaking!

Have fun!

131 would like to thank 121 for picking us as an alliance partner. You guys truly have an amazing robot, which continues to prove itself time and time again.

You Guys all know Andy Grady as that loud announcer from such events as River Rage, Mayhem in Merrimack, And Battlecry. You've seen the rambunctious side of him. Now who wants to see the softer side? The side thats not afraid to get up dressed in his prettiest dress and win a beauty pageant? Do you want the chance to do his make up? Then you would be interested in Trading Faces, a fundraiser that Team 166 puts on yearly, we dress our guys up and auction them off to the highest bidder who then is given the chance to do the guys makeup! After they change into their dresses they come back out strut their stuff and then collect donations, whoever collects the most is then crowned "The Most Beautiful feMALE!"

Also we will have vendors like Mary Kay, Tupperware, Silpada(a jewelry company) and Pampered Chef. the event cost $3 at the door, or if you would like to purchase tickets before for only $2 you can email me at BlondeFIRST166@gmail.com. Purchase of a ticket enters you in to a raffle for a door prize, donated by the different vendors.

Trading Faces is going to be Thursday November 10th, doors open at 630, and it will run till it ends. Located in the Merrimack High school Cafeteria. 38 McElwain St Merrimack NH 03054. If directions are needed feel free to email me and ask.

Re: River Rage - Thank you Teams!!

This year was a switch for me, my team ended up actually competing at River Rage, (we were the Jedi's... see the connection, FORCE team-Jedi ha-ha) and I have to say that this year everything ended up going quite smoothly from our view, if it was chaotic on the other side, they never showed it... also, as a general question... did anyone end up getting a picture of the Jedi/Pirate fight? Please let me know :p
