Web Competitors 2006
As the end of 2005 draws ever closer, many teams are now begining to fire up Photoshop and Notepad, to commence work on their new team websites. The 2005 Web Competitors Thread had many wonderful team websites - let's make this one even better. Use this thread to list your 2006 Team Websites.
Discussion Rules (from last year's thread): Quote:
Post your website links! |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
:D Cool! A 2006 thread finally comes out. Anyway, this is a link to Team 1635's Website. The website is coded almost entirely by students, but there are some sections on it that are still under construction :o . Please take a look and give us some feedback :) .
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Look for 45 to have a website entry this year. Its a work in progress right now but our current site can be found here.
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 176 Aces High will again be in the running. The site hasn't changed much yet, but don't worry it will change very soon. aceshigh176.com
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
587 should have one. Our code is done(ish) and it's just waiting for content (translation: the rest of the team to GIVE ME THEIR SOULs... err... profiles for the site and their pictures), and hosting (translation: the coach to finally e-mail UNC). Can you tell I'm agitated with my team? Anyway, when it's done i'll be sure to edit with a link.
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 527 will be competing yet again:
http://www.plainedgeschools.org/hsrobotics Nothing has changed yet since last year except for servers (and so far that has kept us busy enough) but it will |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
I'm not sure if we competed last year, but I'll definitely submit the site this year. We've got a brand new layout/system going on, so it's pretty much new. Some work still needs to be done, but it's getting there!
Clark Magnet Robotics - Team 696 - Team696.com |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Our site is definitely a work in progress, but I have worked and designed this completely from scratch (minus the forums and gallery). It uses a CSS based layout, and is turning out pretty good.

Re: Web Competitors 2006
well its almost done. Just have to fix some linking issues as this year, we transfered a lot of things from html to php. :) Anyways, CC is welcome.

Re: Web Competitors 2006
1571 will have a completely new website up hopefully by the end of the month. We've got a really good team working on it this year.
All of yours look really nice, too! :) |

Btw, I forgot when the deadline for the website entry is...can anyone help me out lol? (sad, i know) |

Team 1538 will be going for a web site award. Our site still has some work that needs to be done, but here you go: www.team1538.com

Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 107 will be up and running. Current website is here but I plan on redesigning it.
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
For the record, I don't understand the purpose of writing "under construction" on a webpage, but most ironically my team is guilty of it. Kaizen Blitz's team website can be found at: www.mcstrobotics.org
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
First Team 1712's site is fully up! I finished the programming and the design of the site. Enjoy :)... What do you all think of it? Suggestions?
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 812 will probably be putting in an entry. A lot of update on content will be up soon (we're about 50% through). www.midnightmechanics.org
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 159 will be competing, hopefully with new design and functionality. If I ever get time or find someone willing to help, I have alot of improvements to make. Our site is and will remain student coded, it is entirely our own (i.e. not taken from available modules) code now except for the forum. Link: Alpine Robotics

|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 806 will probably be competing this year. I'm still trying to work out the bugs in Mambo's code, but it has been totally redone from the previous years. At the moment, the only thing I regret is that no one on our webteam (aka me) has any knowledge of flash. Check it out at http://www.xhsrobotics.org
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
We're still trying to put together a student team to manage our website, but that's not to say we're not going to be in the running. As always, Woburn Robotics Online.
Oh yes, and I'm back. |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
A past member (with art help from my brother) put together our site. If we can get a student handling update duties, I think we'll give it a spin:

Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 272 will be competing for the 2nd year in the website competition. This year there will be a new site design thats currenty getting added and any bugs crushed before the season begins. Its less graphic intense than last year but it has resulted in better load times and ease in viewing. The new layout can be viewed at http://site.lcrobots.com; content will follow shortly. Any Comments, Suggestions, etc are all welcome!

Re: Web Competitors 2006
The Lightning Robotics website is completely made and run by students. This site is brand new. The website team tells me they are working on adding a photo gallery.
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
i find a cool and fun way of making websites (especially for those more graphically based, such as i) is to make your base website, and as you continue to find new things, to constantly add things to it or replace things but basically it makes for a pretty cool website come competition time, i call it "webolution"
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
I searched all of FIRST's website (and CD for what I could think of)... does anyone know if a nice list of the 2005 website award winners was released, like the one from 2004: http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/2004...te_winners.htm ?
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Well, of course the X-Cats have something.
Check back often. |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
I like this idea--making your team's site another mirror for the manual for the game. It's certainly better than plagiarizing it, as some sites have done...
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Our is all new. It's not quite done yet, and we are still adding content, and fixing bugs (aka browser compatability issues). Anyway, Our Site

Re: Tell us what you think :
Hey Ami, your website looks pretty good :) just one thing...correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that the graphic of the FIRST logo behind your team's logo is allowed as outlined in the FIRST Logo Standards ( http://www.usfirst.org/4vol/resource...tandards_Q.pdf )
Other than that though I think it is very well done :) Also, feel free to check out Team 1620's website at http://TeamRobolution.com which will be entered as a Web Competitor in the 2006 season! :D (ps. its still under construction...if you want to have a peek at the next version, go to http://www.teamrobolution.com/v2/newtemplate.html it's not 100% completed, but will be soon, and i'll put that as the main page soon... Thanks, |

Re: Web Competitors 2006
Team 829 the Digital Goats will have a website. Only one mentor of the two mentors (it's not me) has any real experience designing web pages so she will be teaching each one of us. Go to warrenrobotics.com to see the .php version that is a proto-type. As we go along things will change as the team finishes each page. :yikes:
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
We made some changes (mostly just animation) but it's pretty sweet. We have a headline type of thing now. Check it out at www.anonobots-1190.com.
Let me know what you think. |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Made some major changes in the whole site.
-Got a (temporary) logo -Got a calender <---very good idea -Forums were a success -Gallery went up and is a success as well. http://www.team585.org |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that we have a new site up- http://www.cc.bia.edu/NASA/mysite2/index.htm - still in the rough but we keep plugging away at it. Check it out and let me know what you think (note- we still seem to have a problem with our Feedback page- I'm gonna have some more coffee and try to get a grip on it, hehehheh...) hope You like it! :yikes: :D |
Re: Web Competitors 2006
Looking good everyone! 1620, my comment on your site would be to increase the contrast in the text area to make it easier to read, otherwise the design's great!
|
Re: Web Competitors 2006
awesome, thanks :) (i'll try to find a better colour for the text lol)

Re: Web Competitors 2006
wow, awesome use of flash team mercury, you should get your website validated with validator.w3.org. There are some minor errors that are easily fixed. :D

Re: Web Competitors 2006
Not totally sure, but I do believe we're going to enter our website this year.
This is the first year out of all of my teams years where we are actually going to have a working website, fully loaded with content, that will be updated on a normal basis. Re: Web Competitors 2006
Didnt want to post our site until we had at least 4 videos from this year up. www.team219.com is now up though, we got 1000 posts in the forum, getting abut 5,000 hits a day and use about 150mb of bandwith a day. We also have tons of pictures from throughout the build time. Figured its safe to post it now. its our first year for the site, so hope you like it. Also, guests can post in our forum, so feel free to leave feedback, much appreciated!

Team 1394's 2006 site
Team 1394's 2006 submission is above; key features this year include the release of the Juggernaut Hall of Fame (congratulations to MOE 365 and Royal Assault 357 for their inductions) and the Juggernaut Hosting Service- providing free subdomains, server space, bandwidth, and creation/development support to all FIRST teams requiring such a service. We're back at Philly this year, and are planning on defending our 2005 Best Website award. As always, feedback is appreciated(dont pull any punches; what doesnt leave me reeling in the corner lets me correct issues before the judges get their look at it  ). Good luck to all teams this year! -Dillon Compton, Team 1394 |
