Teams in the Atlanta area.......

I was wondering about the teams in Atlanta area. I am most probably moving there and would like to join a team. I have been on 365 for two years and cant really imagine not being in FIRST next year.

Some contact info would also be nice.

Thanks

Rishad

Hate to break it to you, but there is only one team currently registered in Georgia. Team #832 is Sponsored by Georgia Tech and is made up of students from Roswell High School. Roswell is a Suburb of Atlanta. #832 was the team in orange with the "how to build a robot" T-shirts that we met on Thursday night in MGM. Maybe there will be more teams next year. Maybe you can help start one as per Dean's homework (although i'm not sure he officially assinged it this year).

From Atlanta

The 832 team was wearing orange shirts but not the how to build a robot one. We are team Chimera. The team is sponsored by Georgia Tech in Atlanta. All the robot building goes on there. Next year we already have plans for two teams, both building in our shop at Tech. In the beginning of the year we are also planning training sessions for our teams and a seminar type thing for local high schools that will run for about 2-3 months. We would love to get more help. Right not we have about 8 undergraduate students and one grad student helping the high school. I talked to about 8 graduating seniors planning to come to Tech from Nationals so our "family" is growing. Just email me and I can give you more info (gte936m@prism.gatech.edu).
You can also check out the Georgia TEch RoboJackets club (we're a part of this club) website at www.cyberbuzz.gatech.edu/robojackets.

Sorry about the shirt mix-up. Maybe Perseus, Mike McQuade can use his Georgia Tech connections to get you on the team.

As a future member of Georgia Tech's robotics team, we'd love to have you with us. Anne is the only connection you'll need. She was nice enough to show me around their shop etc. when I toured the campus over spring break. Look forward to seeing you next year!
