Dean Kamen is like FDR...he can only walk for short distances. Why do you think his first mobility device was a wheelchair? He was preparing himself for the day he would no longer be able to walk naturally. Then he realized he needn't be confined to sitting..so he invented the Segway. But just watch as his legs slowly atrophy...we will see him off the segway less..and less....and much, much less

Dean kamen must be an android and sometimes his robotic legs stop working so he must use the Segway as an alternate form of transportation. Have you noticed how dull his speeches are its because they are just programs in his memory banks that he is exceuting.:eek:

Personally I aggree with all those who think that he is trying to make up for his altitude impariment, "People like him are in SHORT supply.", and those who think he is a walking ... sorry, rolling advertisement. There is just one thing that ticks me off when he is talking. Since there is no Stand In Place button, HE ROLLS BACK AND FORTH AND BACK AND FORTH AND BACK AND FORTH! Any way I'm about 5'7 and I could look Dean in the eye when I talked to him and (GEEK ALERT) asked him to sign my shirt in Virginia.

DEAN IS SHORT! He made the segway because he needs some height. It's like getting those height increasing specialised shoes, except he had to take it to the "kamen level" and make it a masterpeice of engineering! (which it is). I also think that his little legs got tired from going from his pc to his printer in his enormouse "Kamen level" house!
It also is designed to benefit his long drawn out boring speeches. He knows that his sp[eeches are long and hard to listen to so instead of putting the time into improving his speech writing skills and completing highschool english...:rolleyes:... He invented a machine that floats back and forth mezmerising his audience removing their attention from himself!!
