Way to go, Amanda!

You are a fantastic person and a good friend. As you can see by all of these replies, you mean a great deal to many people. Your work and friendship is much appreciated.

The things you do have impacted the FIRST community in a many ways. You have made Indiana FIRST, the Boilermaker Regional, IRI, ChiefDelphi.com, and the entire FIRST community a better place because of your effort.

You have helped me out many times. I greatly appreciate you and thank you for being an inspiration to even us old dudes.

Well, according to the "Name the Mentor" picture thread, we looked enough alike as children for you to be my long lost, much, much younger sister... and I have to honestly say that if I had a younger sister, I would hope that she would be as great as you are!

Heidi

p.s. Dave may not like pickles (I'm not 100% sure of this, but he's a man who enjoys food, and I have never, ever seen him eat a pickle) so if you ever have to challenge him to another eating contest, you may try pickles.

Amanda, why are you using those normal allen wrenches, why don't you run to Home Depot and get some adjustable allen wrenches :-p

Congrats....even though when we are at competitions together you always run away from me..... :(

Great work, Amanda!

Having done it myself, balancing life while choosing the non-engineer path in FIRST is much much harder than it looks, and takes exponentially more effort. Amanda makes it look easy. :)

Thank you for being willing to revise any Chairman's Award application that you get in your mailbox. This was thing I asked from her - a favor. When I finally met her at the Championship I received a hug and a snickers for being a winner of the "Find Amanda in Atlanta" game. How cool is a person like that?

Re: UFH: Amanda Morrison

Almost 2 and a half years ago, with the introduction of the Unsung-FIRST-Heroes program, I got my first real introduction to Amanda Morrison. (IRI 2003 didn't really count.) At the time, I was impressed at how she could take a belief ("there are people in FIRST that don't get the recognition they should"), turn that belief into an idea, which would then form the groundwork of a major FIRST-wide program. The fact that she could work as a driving force to bring this idea to fruition, is absolutely incredible.
We won't hold the choice of the first UFH awardee against her, (even he shouldn't be able to bring her down).

Since this first introduction to Amanda, I have watched her do this time and time again with project after project. Her tireless efforts within the FIRST program, have certainly had a significant impact, and she has made this program better for all of us.

Thank you Amanda, for everything you've done, and everything you continue to do.
Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and I'm glad you've finally let yourself garner some of the congratulations you most definitely deserve.

Enjoy this moment in the spotlight, I'm sure it won't be your last.

John

Amanda, you are so much more than an Unsung FIRST Hero - you are the hero to a lot of girls that I have had the opportunity to meet through FIRST, myself included. Congratulations on this awesome honor, you certainly have earned it :)

Where's Boston when you need 'em?

Oh well, here goes....rock out!

"Babe [sorry :p ], tomorrow’s so far away
There’s something I just have to say
I don’t think we can hide what we're feelin’ inside
Another day, knowin’ you're unsung
And I, I’m getting ready to sing
Because recognition's the thing
If I tell you tonight will your face get all bright
And flushed knowin’ we all love ya?

We're gonna take you by surprise and make you realize,
Amanda
We're gonna tell you right away, we can’t wait another day,
Amanda
We're gonna say it like your friends and make you understand
Amanda.....
We loooooooooooove you.................
...
...
..........and you've got mad human player skillllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzz....."

LOL

Congratulations, Amanda. Your infectious enthusiasm for FIRST always kicks my mood up at least three notches whenever you're around. Thanks so much for your many positive contributions to the community.

Ever since the day I met Amanda in line for Viper at Six Flags way back in 7th grade, I knew she was someone with a voice that was meant to be heard. I mean, I was practically deaf after that ride!!!

Seriously though, Amanda has done WAY more than her share in FIRST, and she's still a youngin'! The help she's given to countless teams, individuals, and organization is matched by few. This honor is well deserved.

I am honored to know Amanda and I hope that one day I can make even half the difference she has made.

Three cheers for Amanda!

Hip Hip...Hooray!
Hip Hip...Hooray!
Hip Hip...Hooray!

Kev

P.S. Maybe this is a good time to find those pictures from back in the day to rival what Amy may have....hehehe
