Re: Class Credit for FIRST Participation?

Ok.. here is the way my School does it. If you want to get credit in a class you have to put in over 60 or 80 contact hours, forget which one it is. But you have to put in at least that many hours. So we have a sign in and sign out sheet, and some unfortunate soul has to compute WHO is eligible for Credits, Then if you are you put ur name down and our teacher/mentor enters our name into the grade thingy mobober and we get credit for an Elective as Robotics. Since our class is after School we are safe for school schedules, it is just homework and trying to maintain grades AND get those contact hours, it can get messy sometimes. BUT this year things have changed. There is now an engineering class offered 6th period, this is the Primary FIRST build team, and then shcool ends after 6th and we will just continue working in our Robotics After School Class. So its sort of cool, we get TWO classes for FIRST, our school REALLY REALLY likes the Robotics Program and First. So ya.. Thats just my school, were cool like that. lol

Our has a elective slass thats robotics because our team is such a huge part of our school. its basic elective credits, but all we really do is work on our team stuff. Anyone can be in the class although there are only 2-3 people that are in the class thats not in robotics. Last semster was our first time to have a class thats only for robotics (first semester last year we had a robotics class that tought Lego Robotics). We had a huge final at the end of our year that was on the good practices and tips handbook. That was probably my hardest final! :ahh:
