Thanksgiving 2005 Plans?

I was just wondering what everyone's plans were for Thanksgiving Day on Thursday?

As for me, I'm waking up at 6am and heading out on a bus at 7am to NYC to go see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

I'll be wearin' the infamous Turkey Hat I wore at B.E. this past weekend on my head.

Look for me on TV (9am - 1or2pm) as I will try to get in the path of every camera I see that looks like a network TV camera.
w00t.

After that, as long as I don't freeze to death, I'll be headin' back to Watertown to spend the rest of the day with my family at my grandma's house.

our family sticks to tradition,

this year it will be at my uncles house, all 8 families,20 adults, 12 little screaming kids, 17 teens, and 3 adult who dont act like adults.
Yup sounds like the typical thanksgiving.

prolly eat, watch tv, movies, paintball, and go off-roading if weather permits.

Ever since 2002 when my grandparents passed away, it's pretty much been dinner here or up in North Carolina with my mom's family. This year, we're staying in Colatown.

I'll stay at my house, eat, watch/play football, then hang out with my family.

My family and I will be doing the same thing we have been doing for quite a few years now...

A lot of relatives from my mother's side of the family (13 to be exact, which gives us a grand total of 17 people) will come over to our house and we will feast upon rolls, Jell-O, stuffing, and a 19-Pound turkey...

You might be thinking "That's not enough, right?" Well, you're right because we also have an entire turkey breast along with the turkey...

O_o;;;

Leftovers galore!

Cheering on the runners/walkers (including some from RAGE FRC 173 I think) at tomorrow morning's Manchester (CT) Road Race, then frying up some turkeys. Hope to catch Rent at the movies on Friday, and am making several hundred pierogies on Sunday with the family, to serve on Christmas Eve dinner.

Re: Thanksgiving 2005 Plans?

I've got a bunch of plans since I don't have to go back to work until next Tuesday. It will be a nice break since work has been hectic this past month and I've been staying late to help out in the shipping department.

Thanksgiving this year will just be my immediate family here in Watertown. We're also working on putting up the Christmas trees, and as a matter of fact I have branches surrounding me right now spread out on the floor in thier respective piles. I'm setting up my O gauge (Lionel, MTH, Williams) under one of the trees before the Department 56 is set up. I also decided to set up my N gauge that's been packed away for the past 9 years (when I switched to HO in the basement) under the other tree. It's basically been tradition in my family to start the Christmas decorating on Thanksgiving (don't ask me why  ). Hopefully some of the outside stuff will be done also since I'm not sure I'll have time for it when I go back to work next week. It's bad enough I haven't done anything with Team 237 lately but things should calm down once year-end is over with.
This Friday I have my 10 year class reunion to go to in Waterbury. Nothing like holding a reunion the day after Thanksgiving.
Funny, it doesn't seem like 10 years! :p

I leave for the airport in three hours for a flight that departs in five and a half hours -- arriving in NY at 7:30 AM tomorrow morning.

I am excited.

I'll be doing the same thing I've done for the past 11 years, going to my sister's house in Frederick, MD, where we'll play with the silly Christmas karaoke machine with the kids (at least we say it's for the kids) and eat way to much, and maybe take a walk after dinner and visit the horses at the horse farm across the street, and my sister has two cats and I'll spend a lot of time playing with them and taking their pictures, which my mother will complain that I rather take pictures of those "dumb old cats" than the rest of my family and she'll be right, I rather would. It's going to be a smaller, sadder group this year as my younger brother is in a snit with my parents and not coming and my older brother is in jail but we'll be happy to be together and all in all, the day will be just fine.
