Model "Wish" list
I'm feeling motivated for some strange reason ........
Give me some examples of models that you wish you had access to and I'll make an attempt to post some of them on the FirstCadLibrary. Please keep it on the component level. I probably won't have time to model that 12 speed gearbox you've been thinking about. If I can find the part in my junkbox - or - get enough data online, I'll model it. |

How about some 80-20 linear bearings and more 80-20 products?

If you do get around to doing this, is it possible to do it as an assembly—with the components separated like in the DeWalt exploded view? |

AND Ed, Thanks for all your great models over the years, it is a huge help to all of us. :] |

Re: Model "Wish" list
<side tack>
Speaking of CAD parts, Does anyone know if VEX has some CAD models of the parts somewhere?? If not, one of the kids on our team is just going to make them himself in CAD so no biggie. I think the most intensive part (graphically anyways) of making the metal parts for example will just be the array of the square/diamond shaped holes. </side track> |

Re: Model "Wish" list
Team 103 thanks you Ed for all your hard work the past couple years. Without you and other websites like yourself the inventor award wouldn't be as big as it is today.

Since Streamline has not been updated in a few years... I'm interested in anything BOM that is electrical. The new power distribution panel has already been mentioned. Updates to the Spike model (the new ones have a different form factor) and robot controller (different I/O placement) would be helpful. Thanks for all your help. Regards, Mike |

It's a labor of love and I'm glad to hear from teams that find this stuff useful. It's always kinda cool to see some of the parts show up in various CD posts when assembly ideas are being discussed. It keeps me motivated..... |
Re: Model "Wish" list
As a user of the firstCadLibrary, I'd like to give a thanks to Ed. Many times I've needed a sprocket or some other random part, and it's been a major time saver to be able to go grab it there, rather than spend the time making every individual sprocket. So thanks!

Re: Model "Wish" list
Ed, if you need a DeWalt, Purchase one from Stu's contact and let me know your cost. I will pay for it. It's the least we can do with all of the work you do. PM me and I will send a money order (in American $).

Re: Model "Wish" list
Hmm... I a millionth the DeWalt tranny, that way I won't have to draw it. :) A braker panel would be nice, I drew the one last year, but now it's been lost somewhere away. That's all I can think of for now.

Re: Model "Wish" list
I thought of another one!! Could you do the accelerometer please?
|
Re: Model "Wish" list

Yep, I can do that ..... |
Re: Model "Wish" list
It might be a bit of a task, but what about the KOP frame?
(By the way, Ed, your site kicks butt. I hope to make good use of it this coming season.) |

Re: Model "Wish" list
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING ED!!! I just wish i'd know about it sooner, before I'd nearly finished CADDing our entire robot in AutoCAD (the chain was a *insert explicative here*)...come to think of it, how about some #25 and #35 roller chain to go with those nice sprockets of yours?

I know you may not have the window motors in your junkbox, but those would be great to have (I think the one you have is the jideco) but we often also get the Nippon-Denso as well. You're awesome!!

![]() I drafted that in AutoCAD, but I don't have it for Inventor. I CAN, however, export to STEP or IGES if you want it. Alternatively, I can send it to Ed and he could put it up. Just let me know! |
Re: Model "Wish" list
Yep, that's the one. Follow up with Ed about getting it posted on his site for all of us to enjoy :) Thanks. Now to get the AM Shifter into an Inventor Assembly file - right now it's just an imported STEP file that reads in as one part. I may take that on myself.

Re: Model "Wish" list
How about the CMUcam? If it's in the KOP this year, I have the feeling a lot of teams will be using it.

I just finished the Large CIM up.
Now I just need somebody to host it???? I did the best I could without taking the motor apart. I also skipped the spring :ahh: |

Re: Model "Wish" list
I was not able to find the new denso motor in a iges format, Any help or links would be great .
thanks jim schaddelee |
Re: Model "Wish" list
First off, 1403 <3's FIRSTcadlibrary Thank You!
Also for the CMUcam, the Pan/Tilt Assembly, would that be possible? Other random ideas off my head, I don't expect any of this to be done, but since your open to ideas...
keep up the awesome work! |

I'm not sure that providing a "big .zip" file makes sense for the FCL because individual models are modified and added on a somewhat regular basis during the season. If everyone downloaded the "big .zip" on a regular basis I would go broke paying my IP for bandwidth. Maybe one of these days I'll make the big time and get a sponsor (or win the lottery). For now, we'll have to live within my budget constraints. |
Re: Model "Wish" list
Ok, look, I really need this picture to become a model, I found this jpg at google pictures.
Please help me, thanks. Here is the jpg: http://www.roboraiders.com/inventor/large/process1.jpg |

Re: Model "Wish" list
Ok, I have lot of difficulties with building only this base of the robot, and it's the same base in most teams, so if you can please leave the already built base here it would be very helful.
Thanks alot. |
Re: Model "Wish" list
A "BaneBot's" transmission?
Right now I have a block that follows the basic dimensions and mounting holes, but it lacks that level of detail we've all come to love. I doubt that they will be as popular as the dewalts, but there is a buzz about them. -Andy A. |
Re: Model "Wish" list
I love the FCL, just hope they update the victors to the new 884 victors

Ed, just an item of note (just a slight problem :) )
The holes on the CMU-Camera and the CMU Pan-Tilt do not line up. Otherwise, they're both awesome! :) |
