Ah, I do love seeing the undersides of robots. The wheels nice when mounted up.

Entirely off-topic from the wheels, how did the bracing get together on the kit frame?

I am wondering how this robot drives, without the middle wheel lowered there must be a lot of friction turning. Especially with the thick wheels and tread, how does it turn?

The middle wheel is lowered... by 3/16 if I remember correctly.

Teams using the Kitbot should read the Drivetrain Improvements pdf on the IFI site. There is a lot of very useful info in there.

Holtzman's correct the center wheel is lowered there is no way that Denominator would've turned without the center wheel lowered.

And Billfred we had one of our college kids who is an amazing welder weld those supports in after we bent the center bumper on our practice bot.

Is it just me, or do those wheels look exactly like the original 229 wheels?

From the bottom, yes.

From the side, no.
