only problem i see with this is that depending on how long it is it will need like a hill to work otherwise you would lose momentum to quickly and it would stop after just a few feet

Harrison 05-05-2002 13:05

I thought of that too...Maybe there's a hill we can find at Epcot? lol

But, even if theres no hill...All you need to do is get a good run at it and u will go a good ways...assuming we have it wet enough and all...

Jon K. 05-05-2002 17:31

if it is not wet enough i dont want to think about how muck pain someone would be in! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( LOL:D

Good luck finding a hill in Florida big enough for the Slip n' Slide. I'll continue working on Railgun to accelerate a single rider across several miles of Slip n' Slide and potentially into orbit :D. I just got figure out a way to lower the temperature of the rails to 138 K. Does anyone happen to have a material that superconducts at 99 degrees Fahrenheit? That would make the entire process much easier... lol

You could make a rope system that propels the person accross it, kinda like a ski lift...

The only problem is finding an electric motor powerful enough to propel several people on this 'ski lift' at high speeds (slow would be boring!)

You could feed the hose into PVC piping and drill holes in it to feed water constantly to the slide.

Unfortunately I won't be here next year :-(

EDIT: Better idea. Rig the giant slip n' slide down the bleachers! There's plenty of room, and you just need something to fill in the spaces between the steps... like sand bags or something... Then just pipe the water up to the top and run it down the slide! Unfortunately people have to stand there, and we don't want a lake forming down by the seats (or do we...?). Then again, you could put one of those cheap kiddie pools at the bottom with a sump pump to pipe water back to the top...

Hmm... I wonder how much weight those air conditioner thingys can hold.... You'd just need a really tall stepladder and something soft to land on at the bottom....

Hmmm, you definately could use the bleachers...

But, you would need A LOT of sandbags...Maybe just planks of wood? Something flat that the slide could be put on...

It would be messey tho if u ended up on the bleachers...lol
