Anyone see us fall?

Who were the kids at the All Star Sports resort that saw me and my friend slip on that water and fall lol?

Quain 02-05-2002 22:05

Well.. i didn't get to see it..but i would have liked to.. Did you see @ finals when a kid on my team ran over a lady when we were goin up to get our award.. anyone have it on TAPE?? *grin*

prtynpink5 02-05-2002 22:07

haha YES I saw that my friends and I were dying laughing.

Harrison 02-05-2002 22:08

*shakes head at both you*

lol

prtynpink5 02-05-2002 22:12

It was the funniest thing, we were both running and hit this puddle of water and i go flying and slide like 10 feet and then like 2 seconds later she slides up next to me.

Melissa Nute 02-05-2002 22:13

Hey, be nice to that kid...i'm sure he didn't mean to do it...

Quain 02-05-2002 22:14

thats awesome.. its like a super huge slip n slide.. OMG.. thats a great idea for next year.. bring a BIG tarp.. and spray it with water.. have team slip n slide matches.. beat the head.. *grin* i now have a mission...

Harrison 02-05-2002 22:18

OMG THATS A WICKED IDEA!

You know those Slip'n'Slide carpet things?

Its like a big plastic mat that u hook a water house up to, and it becomes a huge long water slide...

My team calls dibs on doin that at the Nat's next year ;)

Quain 02-05-2002 22:22

i posted it first.... pshhh.. idea thief.. orrrrr... we could take the one we each bring... and hook em together.. it'll be kickin

Harrison 02-05-2002 22:23

I wonder if the plastic would hold if we welded them together?

If not...ZIP TIES AND LOC-TITE!!!

Judy 02-05-2002 22:25

to go back to another forum... it's all about duct tape!
*hugz to all as alwayz*
Ann-Marie -team 783

Harrison 02-05-2002 22:27

Duct-Tape is a thing of the past....Get with the times!

Quain 02-05-2002 22:28

hey now.. this is everyone workin together.. we'll loc-tite the ziptie.. then duct tape the edges... its all about everything workin together

Harrison 02-05-2002 22:42

I suppose the duct-tape could be used on the top to smooth out the connective edges so that we dont cut ourselves up on it when we slide past at high speeds.

prtynpink5 02-05-2002 22:47

haha you guys must be on some serious drugs....wierd ideas!! LOL!

Harrison 02-05-2002 22:49

Can you honestly say that would wouldn't use our slide if we had it there?

I bet you would be on it more than anyone ;)

prtynpink5 02-05-2002 23:03

u got me, ide prolly use it!

Melissa Nute 03-05-2002 06:00

Wow, a slip and slide would be fun for next year

Quain 03-05-2002 09:47

it'd be hardcore awesome for next year.... hah.. of course... we'd just need to gank a little water... *Grin*

asher 03-05-2002 13:51

no no your thinking way way too small, get a bunch of slip n slides in a line and build another robot to stradle the plastic and pull you down, say oh a half mile of slip n slide, now THAT would be awesome, not too much work either.

Oh yes...it certainly seems that way:D

Harrison 03-05-2002 15:46

Well great things come from drugs sometimes...Look at the Beatles...lol

But I'm sire that FIRST could give us a hose or something with water...

Scorpion515 03-05-2002 16:21

OOOOHHHHH!!!! That would be awesome!!!!!!!! I'll have to make sure I come to the nationals next year!!!!!!!!!

fast frank 03-05-2002 20:19

i don't know about you, but i wouldn't like slidding over the zip-ties, they might hurt. i'm all for the duct tape

Judy 03-05-2002 20:22

HaHa! I win! Duct tape triumphs again! *pure jokes*
*hugz to all as alwayz*

Quain 03-05-2002 22:58

duct tape OVER zip ties... oorrrr.. we can just get ONE HUGE peice of plastic... haha... but the Florida sun would work against us on that one..

Harrison 03-05-2002 23:00

As long as we keep it wet, the sun is no match for us!

Jon K. 04-05-2002 21:02

as much fun as that would probably be you guys are crazy:rolleyes: LOL:p

Anne George 04-05-2002 22:48

At my Elementary school they would always just use those blue tarps that you have laying around your house but never seem to be in use so if everyone just brought done like one a cut it in half it would so easy to get it really long but you would need more than one hose because it wouldnt provide enough water

Harrison 05-05-2002 00:12

I thought of what kinda plastic coukd work...

You know that stuff that u put up in your basements over the insulation? That stuff is cheap, comes on rolls, is smooth, and its pretty tuff stuff too.

I'll bring the stuff down next year....someone remind me tho...lol

Jon K. 05-05-2002 12:52

only problem i see with this is that depending on how long it is it will need like a hill to work otherwise you would lose momentum to quickly and it would stop after just a few feet

Harrison 05-05-2002 13:05

I thought of that too...Maybe there's a hill we can find at Epcot? lol

But, even if theres no hill...All you need to do is get a good run at it and u will go a good ways...assuming we have it wet enough and all...

Jon K. 05-05-2002 17:31

if it is not wet enough i dont want to think about how muck pain someone would be in! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( LOL:D

The Lucas 05-05-2002 21:33

Good luck finding a hill in Florida big enough for the Slip n' Slide. I'll continue working on Railgun to accelerate a single rider across several miles of Slip n' Slide and potentially into orbit :D. I just got figure out a way to lower the temperature of the rails to 138 K. Does anyone happen to have a material that superconducts at 99 degrees Fahrenheit? That would make the entire process much easier... lol

Jnadke 05-05-2002 23:51

You could make a rope system that propels the person accross it, kinda like a ski lift...

The only problem is finding an electric motor powerful enough to propel several people on this 'ski lift' at high speeds (slow would be boring!)

You could feed the hose into PVC piping and drill holes in it to feed water constantly to the slide.

Unfortunately I won't be here next year :-(

EDIT: Better idea. Rig the giant slip n' slide down the bleachers! There's plenty of room, and you just need something to fill in the spaces between the steps... like sand bags or something... Then just pipe the water up to the top and run it down the slide! Unfortunately people have to stand there, and we don't want a lake forming down by the seats (or do we...?). Then again, you could put one of those cheap kiddie pools at the bottom with a sump pump to pipe water back to the top...

Hmm... I wonder how much weight those air conditioner thingys can hold.... You'd just need a really tall stepladder and something soft to land on at the bottom....

Harrison 06-05-2002 12:38

Hmmm, you definately could use the bleachers...

But, you would need A LOT of sandbags...Maybe just planks of wood? Something flat that the slide could be put on...

It would be messey tho if u ended up on the bleachers...lol

Quain 06-05-2002 20:59
