OMG WHAT A DISAPPOINTMET!!!
That movie really sucked. I suppose the most glaring falling of it was the half-rate special effects. Just look at really ANY of the FIRST Team's animations and they were better for the most part than the movies'. I myself have never read the comics or watched the TV show, but I was able to predict everything that happened in the thing - weak story. One thing I liked, the movie was well casted. I give it 1.5 Stars (out of 5). |
Don't rate it that badly.
I saw it earlier at 4:10 I thought it was pretty good with few exceptions Such as: Predictable, but most know what happen anyhow Web shooters...not web coming from his forearm God the guy that plays the Green Goblin is so freaky!!! There was good stuff though too... Great cast Ok effects I think they should have split it up more, they jumped around a lot in the story from what I remember. Good news too, They are making 2 more but i don't know when they will come out |

They were espcially weak for an 'action adventure' movie BASED around the effects. People at my school can do things better than that. For instance, whenever he was jumping around on the ground, all I could think was "Medal of Honour" (the comp game) IT LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE IT. Then right at the begining of it, the credits....Right from the get-go I said to myself 'those effects had better get better quickly' - they didn't. Weak weak SpecialFX. |
Ok, well, that's why I changed my orginal to ok effects.
:D It's ok, I'm not going to argue with you. I liked the movie but I've always been a spidey-fan and I'm just happy they finally got something else out. I really hope the next one will include Doc Oc! |
Then again, once the people that can do better get out there it will be so sweet! oh well, more and more will come as our generation moves into the ranks of the real world. Hopefully effects will get better. I know I certainly didn't like the beginning of the movie. Very jerky, it got me dizzy all the moving around.

I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course the special effects were not believable. It's based on a comic book, after all. The entire story line is not believable. Yet i enjoyed it anyway. Maybe it's cause i'm a girl, but i liked the movie for the same reason i like the comics....it is so human. They may be humans with mutant abilities, but they are still human, and i thought Sam Raimi really captured that, if nothing else. Tobey especially played his part beautifully. I didn't think he would, becuase he doesn't look the part, but he was perfect!!! I simply loved the movie, and i can't wait to go see it again! ps....does anyone know where i can get digital footage of the world unity festival scene? I was an extra in that scene, and i discovered today that you can actually see the back of me in one shot...i'd love to be able to zoom in and show ppl. Anyone? |
I can't believe you guys didn't like the movie. I used to be a huge Spiderman comic collector so maybe that might be the reason I liked the movie more but I think that the special effects were as good as they needed to be. Willem Dafoe is one of the greatest actors in my honest opinion. You should check out the other movies he is in such as the Boondock Saints which is one of my favorite movies. He is freaky but he is purposely being that way.
|
I know he fit the part...too well!
He practically gave me the willies every time I saw him. He's just so so so freaky looking. And I did think it was awesome. I hope you find the pic of you in it! I would love to see it!!! |
am ithe only person who caught the glitch in the begining when he was learning how to use teh web slingers and he was flying around and he landed on the top of the bulding in his squat posistion and they flashed the newer suit..but he was flying earlier in the old pajama style one
AM I THE ONLY ONE? |

hmmm...i feel like a nerd |
I hate the ending, but i know they have to make the next 2 movies so ill just have to live with it. men are such jerks! well just spiderman in this case, but still.
asher |
Well....you know it won't last.
Of course the whole thing has a subtle love thing going. He will get with her eventually, and I i think they will somewhat ruin it because it seems like she already knows who he is when in reality he tells her. Oh well, I'm being picky again! ::smiles innocently:: I can't help it! |

When she went and touched her lips after the kiss at the end it gave it away that she knew who he was...
Again, the movie being predictable, i said to my buddy beside me as soon as they kissed, i said "she's gonna recognize the kiss"...and I was right... |
K, even tho the effects weren't that great, they were jerky and hard to follow at points. Even tho Kirsten Dunst is a horrible MJ- her face is round, Mj's is long it just doesnt work!, and a horrible actor and I have no respect for her work because it's very shallow and unreal. Even tho, they really screwed up the plot with some of the character interactions(I cant give away the plot I feel bad). And even tho, they really did a number on the whole thing by killing the web shooters... cause there's so much about the web cartriges, how he defeats one villian with a different type of web.. or how he looses so many fights cause he's out of web cartriges or has to reload. And how they butured Uncle Ben's death.. does the house mean anything to you Sam Raimi?!
But even after all that.. I still loved it! It was so great seeig all the characters up there... I mean who expected Flash? And I hope the next one has even better examples of that.. like Felicia, they should SO bring her in. When the next one comes out(by then all my friends and I will be in university) we're all gonna drive probably 7 hours to see it together! I can't wait! *hugz to all as alwayz* Ann-Marie -team 783 |
of course the movies are going to be predictable, it is a comic. the stories are already out there, ang they go in greater depth than the movie.
as for kristen dunst, she "needs acting lessons". the effects were not that bad, of course that could only be because i was in the front row, but the only time they annoyed me was durrint the final sequence where he is swing through the buildings. it seemed too digital. overall i enjoyed the movie. stop picking out the flaws, and just enjoy the movie for the entertainment. |
I'm a drama student (not after this year :) ) what can I say.. picking movies and stuff apart is what we do. But I did really enjoy it, as did my friends that I saw it with.
*hugz to all as alwayz* Ann-Marie -team 783 PS. ugh! Kristen Dunst.. I really have no respect for her as an actor.. she's really horrible and unbelivable. |

of course it's not perfect. Still the best movie of this year.
Kirsten was ok, but tobey was awesome. Who would have ever thought he could play peter so perfectly? /me [heart] geeks |
"go web"
|
Kirstin dunst she's not that bad, I just think this movie was different for her. I've only seen her in more comical movie where her...umm...ditziness I'll call it, is better used.
As for being MJ, I don't think she did a horrible job except her crying seems SOO fake. Oh well, like it was said before, Never go see a movie and be upset because of little things. Lots of things get changed when moved to the big screen. :D |
Could've Been Worse
It could've been Kung Pow:Ledgend of the Fist. I paid 50 cents and I felt ripped off. Don't even watch it on cable, not even by mistake!Just remember: YOU WERE WARNED!
|
Kung Pow
i wouldnt watch Kung Pow if u paid me too....that looked horrible
|
I saw that movie when it first came out.
Hehehe..I never laughed so much in my life! Weee-ooo-Weooo If you haven't seen the movie you won't get that... :D |
Kung-Pow is great... what are you guys talking about?! That movie was so funny!! I like when like all the people die at the end and he runs to the one guy and he's dead so then he goes to his dog and he's dead and then to the girl and she's like coming back to life and then back to the guy and he's still dead and back to the dog he's like my dog you're alive and then he runs to the one guy again and he's still dead, LOL!! YOU GOTTA SEE THAT MOVIE!!
|
