CMUCam mount assembly instructions
Does anyone have the instructions for assembling the pan/tilt mechanism for the camera?
Thanks |
CMU Cam Mounting Blueprint
I was just fiddling with the new CMU cam mount included in this year's kit, only to find that there's no blueprint or picture of what it's supposed to look like. I'm poking and guessing at where the little pieces go, but I'd like to have some sure-fire method to make sure nothing breaks... Can anyone lend a hand?
Much Appreciated Chris |

Okay, I figured out the documentation situation. In a few minutes I'll post a copy of the camera documentation here: http://kevin.org/frc.

Re: CMUCam mount assembly instructions / Blueprints
Wow, i LIKE This mount! I cant wait to build it on tuesday!
Last year i built our teams mount based off the offical directions slightly modded to be both pan and tilt. Unfortunitally the way i made it made it weaker and it broke during our first full field test. hopefully this one will be much better and stronger! Also first post with my new sig. :D |

Note:
IFI has posted our assembly instructions for the CMU PAN-TILT on this site:http://www.ifirobotics.com/camera.shtml Direct link to the PDF: http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/frc-pantilt-01-assy.pdf Sorry for the delay, JV |
Re: CMUCam mount assembly instructions / Blueprints
Kevin, one thing i noticed is that in your renderings of the assembly in the assembly instructions, the camera board is upside-down, the serial connector should be closer to the bottom than the top. I discovered this because my image from the camera was upside-down and the tilt was backwards until I flipped the board.

If you put the serial cable closer to the bottom than the top, you must reverse your pan servo with a jumper on the bottom of the camera board, or your camera will turn away from the target. :) Found this out the hard way :) |
