we were testing out some belt ideas in our gym, and the balls seemed just fine accidently getting stuck under the treadmill, so i think a carpet will definitly provide enough traction with only one top belt

A conveyer belt at a 45* Angle would be able to shuffle the balls into the bot if needed. I dont have any pictures it would be viable.
