LabVIEW - CMUcam finds target but cant track

In labview, we have the camera able to find the target, as in the red circle is locked on the green light, but then the camera starts panning to the left, even though the red circle is still locked on to the green target.. once the camera has panned too much the camera loses the target...

Any ideas?

We had a similar problem, but with tilt, we ended up having to set a jumper to reverse the tilt tracking on the camera. The 2005 CMUcam getting started PDF showed the header assignments, but the Pan and Tilt Reverse jumpers were reversed, but otherwise correct, so that PDF can help you place it, just remember to swap them.

Initialize auto servo

I don't know what the command is I forget, but I know that there is a command to initialize the servos to track a color, and that needs to be put in before the camer a can move on its own accord.
Sincererely,

You can send commands to the camera through LabVIEW, or do i acually need to go into hyperterminal or somthing like that...?

The LabView code sends the commands to the camera semi-automatically. So you shouldn't need to use a terminal emulator if you are using LabView.

After you change any parameters remember to hit the "Upload config to camera" button on the interface. And you can't change parameters while it's tracking. In other words, stop tracking, make the changes, upload the changes, then start tracking again.

We had the exact same problem today. Try a jumper on the Pan Servo Reverse pins, after that it tracked fine! Good luck!
