This is very similar to our team's idea for a ball thrower. The only different views of how we should do it is whether we should have 1 or 2 wheels and if both wheels should be powered or just one... Any other original ideas would be interestiong to read....

this one actually uses 4 wheels, two back and two front, maybe that will stimulate your imagination?

If the ones in the front are going slower then the ones in back then that would probably allow for a quicker period for the wheels to get back up to speed then correct? And therefore it would eliminate a lot of waiting that some other teams may have to do between shots.

...Yes, that is correct. However, your ball would also be slower. It is a zero-sum game. If you want your ball to go faster (with the same power and motors) the wheels will take longer to get back to full speed.

And if the front wheels were slower, what would their purpose be anyway? All they would be is excess weight on your robot.

Just Big CIM it!

*Waits anxiously to see robots flipping left and right at competetion due to 10 pounds of motor + shooting mechanism at the 5' mark*
