Traction Problems...
It's an easy fix, but I thought it was funny enough to post up here.
http://www.team195.com/video/kitbot.wmv (Note: this only happens when slamming the right side motor only into reverse.) |
Re: Traction Problems...
Did you see those tiles just fly by??? :ahh:  I don't want to get into a pushing match with them!!! Nice vid Tom

Re: Traction Problems...
that chain going from the tranny to the wheel sprocket was so loose.

Re: Traction Problems...
Add more weight. (Not the best idea)
Make sure the metal frame is not warped. Use heavier wheels or wheels with more traction. Shift the weight around so that the weight is evenly distributed. |
Re: Traction Problems...
Most of the weight is above or near the front wheels compared to the back. So when you drive in reverse you don't get as much traction.
Also, slick tile floor sucks for traction... |
Re: Traction Problems...
This use to happen to us on search and rescue calls in the coast guard sometimes, esp boat calls at 3AM
try casting off your mooring lines! :^) |

ya, tighten up that chain.

Re: Traction Problems...
Haha! That was great! Thanks for the good laugh. :D

Re: Traction Problems...
That was a pretty good laugh, but I have a better one. Never use spare batteries as weights on a prototype, especially when it's holonomic and decides to spin out of control and spill battery acid in a ring on the floor. Why didn't anyone videotape that?!!

Re: Traction Problems...
To the Cyber Knight's surprise, a some printf statements revealed some very intimate thoughts coming from the robot controller on their kitbot:
"I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..." ;) |
