Chassis Changes

Can we change the chassis or is it a deafult one?
We built the one that was in the PDF file at usfirst.org

Thanks & good luck!

Re: Chassis Changes

You can build any chassis you want. Take a look at the technical White papers section. Also look at the Picture Gallery for more examples. Feel free to ask more questions.

You may change it however you like. Or even build a completely new one!

you are allowed to make any modifications to the chassis that you wish. Actually you are required to to fit the size restrictions of 28 x 38. Good luck

Re: Chassis Changes

As previously mentioned, you can do whatever you want. But, always keep a connection with reality, a custom solid carbon fiber frame may win awards, but is it worth the trouble. On a more likely note, that powder coated 80/20 extrusion or welded aluminum frame may be a bit stiffer, lighter, or cooler than the kit, but the kit one is very adaptable. Given, it definitely needs stiffening, but you can have a very capable chassis with the sole addition of a round or square aluminum extrusion X-brace and higher traction wheels.

Also, the metal provided in the kit doesn't have to be used for the frame. Be creative!
