It doesn't seem to understand the double-l forms of those words, which are more popular in Britain. But the "Lookup" function is obviously looking at a bigger dictionary....

Also, what about a feature to directly recommend words for addition? Maybe something that generates a list, then runs them through (for example) Google's "define:" function to check for hits, and generates a list with citations for Brandon to deal with at his leisure.

Yeah, the 'Lookup' function and the actual spell check don't use the same dictionary of words. I may end up changing the spell check over to a Google -based one, and alleviate all of this. The problem with that is that we can't add custom, FIRST-specific words.

Until I get some free time, this thread will have to do for adding words to our dictionary.
