I've heard of not throwing stones in a glass house, but nothing about throwing carts in a glass omniwheel.

How did those wheels hold up on the carpet (before the obvious mishap)?

Does anybody have a picture of wheels like this working on a robot? I've never seen this type of thing before.

Oh, I must have been mistaken by the picture then, it looked like there was simply a protective piece around the sprocket that you drove on. I see now :yikes:

Remarkably well, actually, given that they're acrylic. As I was driving, I lost two rollers do to a similar, smaller break but had no trouble for awhile after that. As I mentioned in the caption, the break seems to be the result of lazy construction moreso than material strength and all the damage happened to a single omniwheel. The other three are fine.

As Greg pointed out, they're just standard omniwheels. There's nothing particularly fancy about them. Here is a picture of another of our wheels in its original, unwrecked state/

Again, nothing quite so fancy, I'm afraid. It's litte more than a light, very maneuverable, 6WD design.

Here is some video.
