585 website

its just a rough draft kinda thing for now. i've been working on it for a few days, so it might not be perfect (due to the lack of sleep).

and yes, i know i dont have a domain. i'm working on it. for some reason it didnt come with the package i ordered on godaddy.

and can anyone let me know how to get the files just on the ip itself, instead of what its on now? when i connect in filezilla it sends me straight to /murrowman. how do i get it to just go to the ip?

Looks pretty good, I'd suggest adding some color though. In addition some pictures would help to spice it up a little. Great start though.

I agree with that...

Also, the first test page is really small. While it might look better on some resolutions, percentages might work better than a fixed width.
The second test page is very linear and requires a lot of scrolling on longer pages.

Other than that, they both look good.

Re: 585 website

alright, i got it all straightened out.

i got a domain, and the site is up. i'm still working on making the main page looking better. i did center it all, because the last version looked to left aligned.

also, i finally got forums up, and a gallery to run pictures to.

and yes, i know the main site needs color, but i've gotten feedback from my team and they say to leave it where it is. this is also their first year having a website (let alone any sort of communication over the internet). also, it isnt validated in w3c, but i'm not worrying about that right now.

Re: 585 website

Yeah, I put it in my sig. I wasn't expecting comments for awhile (it was like 12. time to sleep anyway...) so I did it later. Sorry for the mixup. The domains above do not work anymore, due to the major switch from a windows w/ ASP account to a linux w/ PHP account. I needed php to put up phpbb.

WOW! We use the same forum provider! (alot of people probably have it, it's just the first one i've seen on a robotics site) I tried invisionfree.com, but i didn't understand how to use it in a short period of time so i just gave up.
Other than that site looks great, besides the color.... but it seems to not be of concern. =D

Yes, It is very popular forum software. I only used it because it was easy to set up and I already know how to use it anyway.

Also, mods are fun. So are styles.

I checked out your forums. Why are you using phpbbforfree when you have a server? Or do you have a server?

We have our own server, i joined a bit late so i'm not so sure as to why we did not move it to our own server. And how would you get rid of the ads? they're really getting annoying...

Re: 585 website

alright, all of you said it was good, but it needed color. well, with the free time i had (which is almost impossible to find anymore) i put in some color.

http://www.team585.org

i tryed doing a external style sheet, but couldnt get it to work, so i just used an internal style sheet.

FUN FUN FUN, EH?~
