Inventor 9 Help

We downloaded this file:
http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/driv...-inventor8.zip

and opened it in Inventor 9 in order to assemble the chassis. When we tried to insert bolts into the rail holes using constraints it would give out this message "Constraint was placed to geometry which no longer exists"

What could be the problem?

Thanks

Have you tried hitting the "update" button first?

Re: Inventor 9 Help

Yes it did not help.
I have one more question. Can not find the way to reduce the length of the part (the bamper) downloaded from the ifirobotics.com.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Inventor 9 Help

to change the length of the bumper, the best way i know is the following:

if the bumper is in the assembly (.iam)
  1. double click it /*so that you are into the edit part mode; everything else is transparent*/
  2. double click "Base 1"
  3. then click "Extend or Contract Body"
  4. click on the face at either end of the bumper
  5. click the yellow and red -> <- button
  6. specify the distance by which you want it shortened. **it automatically shortens it by the closest amount that will keep the space between the end face and the center of the hole the same. ** /*this is what is happening as far as i can tell*/
  7. click ok. /*now your done*/
if you are editing the part in its own file (.ipt) then skip step one.

i hope this helps.
