That looks like a super fast robot
|
Re: pic: Drive sytem
quick AND powerful ... but I would guess you are not planning to pick up any balls off the floor ...
|
Re: pic: Drive sytem
Yes... how do you plan to get balls?

Re: pic: Drive sytem
Fredi and 842,
Very nice setup. This thing will go faster than Tytus was driving on 179 last year, if the motor power will allow. This is a good choice of an omni-wheels and IFI treaded wheels combination. Andy B. |
Re: pic: Drive sytem
Something there looks familier...
FYI make sure not to have too much weight over the omnis if you use the rubber discs. THe wheels bottom out on the Aluminum and you will get in trouble for wrecking the carpet. Pete |
Re: pic: Drive sytem
Hmmm, i know who we are going efter with our pusher bot.......
Omni's make it way to easy to throw people off target. Then again, if we cant catch you...... |

Re: pic: Drive sytem
Just curious, what was your reasoning when deciding between IFI traction wheels and the AndyMark traction wheels?
AndyMark Transmission 2 x $330 AndyMark OmniWheel 2 x $68 IFI Traction Wheel 2 x $60 Having a final drive train before the end of week 2 ... Priceless |

Personally, I prefer to put a little more thought, planning, and design into the robot before we just go build it. Also, in that picture, those Victors look quite crowded in there. Do you have any room for wiring? |

A robot only let's you play the game. You need PRACTICE, strategy, and some luck to win the game. I'd love to have something driveable by the end of week two.

We get it through a distributer here. Check on the website for the nearest dist. to you. It is very easy to work with, hack saw and a drill is all you really need. It is 1 fifth the weight fro the same strength of steel. lock nuts and bolts 3/16 is all we use, you can counter sink in the 1/4 thick fiberglass. Dremel works great. When ever cutting be sure to have a vacum running to suck up the lose stuff. It gets on your hands and is ichy, but you get used to it. It makes for quick repairs! |

Well to start its not finished so we havent posted a full pic of the overall robot and as for the victors thats my job and I find my self with abit to much room because I have crowded a robot controller, spikes, and the victors in to smaller spaces and well thats my job and that is to make things work with the less space possible. :) |
