I loved the regional. I would like to thank the planning committee for doing such a great job with a rookie regional. While I was only there for today, I did have fun, even though I was a human easel for most of the day, I had fun people doing it with me. Then I finally got down to do field reset and had a blast! Like I said it was a great event from what I saw. |

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
On behalf of Team 213, The Dirty Birds <KHS Dirty Birds' Website > I want to thank Team 40, Trinity High, and Team 69, Quincy High, for working with us and for their wonderful performance in the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and then the Finals themselves! Though we did not win, our alliance put up quite a fight against an extremely difficult alliance. And congratulations to Teams 133, 233, and 1568 for an amazing performance at the Regional. You were a killer team. I wish you all luck in Atlanta!!

From the Volunteer Coordinator standpoint:
Thank You TEAM New England!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
The Boston Regional was extremely well put together. From the Field crew to the pit announcers to the judges the regional was at the top in all areas. The entire atmosphere was great and the teams were all friendly.
Thank you to 121 and 233 for picking us for eliminations. Thanks for putting up the big points and letting us do what we did best, play defense. A special thanks to Andy Grady and every one on 121 and 233 who did scouting and helped us to set our auto to play effective defense in the elimination rounds. Also thank you to Team 40 for giving us all of those sky way wheels because we kept ripping the center out of ours. Also congratulations to team 40 for putting together an amazing alliance of 213 and 69 and making it all the way to the finals to give us a serious run for Championship. Congratulations to team 383 you guys were great I'm glad we got to meet you and hang out with you for a while hopefully we get to see you in Atlanta. |

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Great regional. I met a lot of awesome people, and I really hope everyone I met can make it to Atlanta SOMEHOW.
Props to the awesome judge team, volunteers, refs, venue staff, can't thank everyone enough. To all the rookies, you guys rule, awesome showing 1757 with highest seed, <3 1965 & 1975 To team 233: In these short 3 days you have taught me so much. I will definitely be visiting you in Atlanta, great job on everything, your victory as well as your outstanding chairman's career. And team 75! how did those guys win two engineering inspiration awards in the same year :S Didn't know it could be done, not to mention autodesk visualization =) Overall, 11/10 for the boston regional :) |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
If anyone has the space and bandwith to support a 55mb file for download, I have first hand video of Blair's dramatic entrance on Saturday morning.
What can I say... I've been to regionals for 7 years now. This was definitely one of the best regionals I've ever been to. The energy of the teams, the insane level of play, the speakers throughout the day, and the general atmosphere all made me completely forget this was the first year for this amazing event. I've been volunteering for Beantown Blitz for the 2 years it's been put together, and every time afterwards, the comment was always made- "how cool would it be to have a regional in Boston..." Now we know how cool it can be. And it was well beyond what we could have ever expected. Thank you to everyone- teams, volunteers, staff, VIPs, for making this one of my best FIRST experiences ever. |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
What an amazing competition. Beyond words. Anyone have or know where I can get a copy of that photo montage that they showed?
edit: nvm i found the photo montage under the video archive on the regional website. |
