my thanks to 233 for an awesome match with us scoring 132 points.

Same from 571 - it was an amazing match.

The entire regional was a blast for my team. Though we had to face the killer alliance in the quarterfinals we were happy with where we ended up. We loved the venue and the teams there had as much GP as anywhere. The announcer was, as usual, terrific, and the lineup of judges was outstanding. The sheer number of rookies shows that New England FIRST is growing at an alarming rate (I heard a rumor of at least 13 more Boston rookies next year!).

Great job to everyone involved in planning and pulling off this great event!

Thanks James...though it was more the scouting of the students on 121 and 233, and the quick thinking of team 121 coach Ricksta who had an effect on your outcome than anything I did. It was a fun ride that I was fortunate enough to be able to follow along on. Congrats to all of you.

Also...way to go NERDS! It was great to see them brining so much spirit and hard work to the field as volunteers...all while touting shirts and buttons! Way to go!

See you all in Atlanta,
-Andy Grady

That regional was phenominal, I don't know how much better they can come and words can't just describe it. The crew they had working it (including the organizers, judges, advisors, refs, volunteers, and random helpers) was just awesome and did everything right. I don't know how they can call that a first year regional, it looks like they've been doing it forever.

But hey the crew can't do the job alone, the teams chipped in a fair amount too. Going into the regional, they key stat was the fact that there were 14 rookies. Did you know that Every Single team made Every Single match on Friday and Saturday? It may not have been a "powerhouse" regional with lots of teams that are stellar, but the standard of play was quite high compared to many other regionals. Only one match had less than 10 points scored in it total, Q45 (intresting fact the winning blue allies all turned out to become the 6th seeded alliance) with a score of 7-0 after penalties, all the other matches were higher scoring.

I had a great time at the regional and 1403 is planning on making the trip back for next years regional, and this time we are bringing a better robot. If your team isn't getting how great this regional is, just think of a perfect regional, with a 5 minute fire drill timed perfectly between alliance picking and playoffs.

Oh a quick thanks to everyone's favorite corey for helping us out a bit.

To put it simply, Boston was an amazing event. In my mind, it was more enjoyable than the NJ Regional. Everybody was extremely professional and treated eachother with gratitude.

I loved:
-The Interspersement of Rookie and Veteran Teams- Team 75 had alot of fun helping everybody out
-Special Guests- Where else can a High School Student have a conversation with "The Woz" for 10 minutes!?
-Enthusiasm of Rookie Teams- You all did a stellar job and showed you were more than just "the new guys".

And I absoluetly loved painting "Defense" my chest with 6 of my fellow team mates. I never would have thought I would do that!

Everybody did an amazing job. Thank you all for putting on such an amazing event and making it worth the 6 hour bus ride up.

I want to thank team 1511 and team 125 for being such great alliance partners. It was amazing and we did the best we could.

I also want to give a HUGE thanks to team 88 tj squared and 1909 for helping us win our qualifying match against teams 233 and 126. That was deffinetly the most exciting match of both regionals we attended.

The most fun i've ever had at a FIRST event, honestly.

If you ever get a chance to volunteer, do it, its an amazing experience.

Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

We won the website award and got one of those shiny trophies. Fun regional by the way we copied team 75 by making a aim high logo in the stands, and we came pretty close to winning the regional. :yikes:

Wow - didn't really think we'd be noticed -- we were just there scouting in preparation for Nationals. It was a lot of fun for us to be watching a tournament without competing -- I think I only saw about three matches other than our own at the BAE GSR! One of the highlights for us was seeing that the FIRST-related questions we wrote for the BAE GSR to be filler for the big screen were being played at Boston, too!

I've emailed Brittany to let her know you're trying to get a question to her. She'll probably email you directly; I don't think she has an account here.

http://www.bostonfirst.org/contact.html

Consider dropping an email to some of the people on this list thanking them for this event. Most of these folks hear way more complaints in their day-to-day work than they do compliments.

I had a blast talking with each of the rookie teams on Thursday. They were an amazing group (almost as great as the 15 rookie teams I had at Chesapeake ;) ) Props to Brad.

Fantastic volunteers and planning committee. Obviously a steller group of judges that I had the pleasure of spending Friday with.

And then on Sat. got to wear the red shirt and talk even more to some amazing VIP guests. I cannot describe how impressed these folks were with all of you.

Boston was a great event. Congrats to Team 383 on winning the Chairman's Award. I look forward to seeing you guys in Atlanta.

Also, thanks for great work from the referees. We had a truly star studded group of refs at this event. You guys did a great job.
