Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Who else is getting really psyched about this event??
I can't wait to see all the great teams in action at this first-year event. Looks like there will be some real bigtime machines there. I want to challenge all Boston regional teams to change the stigma that northeast teams can only play defense...Lets give everyone watching the webcast something to watch...I want to see some high scores this weekend! Good Luck to everyone!! Rob |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
The range of teams at this event is amazing.
Any one going to watch will see perennial powerhouses like 69, and 233. As well as up and coming teams like 1511 and to top it all off there are 14 Rookie teams, Rookie all star may be the most competitive award this year. I can not wait for the Boston regional, a new event, a relatively new venue and it is all in Boston. |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Boston will be a lot of fun, everything seems to be going the right way:
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
To everyone who will be at the competition: Don't forget to bring your old LEGOs and RCXs to donate! The RCU will be at the competition collecting donations on Saturday- see the RCU forum for more details!

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
I'm looking forwarding to meeting the local teams! I will be in the pits on Thursday, talking to the teams, especially the rookies, about hints to help with judging.
Tons of VIP's at this event. Lots of opportunities for teams to promote their team. Try to bring handouts about your team. |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Team 40 will be bringing our arsenal of Mini FRC-bots and playing a video of the demonstration.
see this thread if you're not familiar with it http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=45531 Stop on by the pits to check out the robots! |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
As I said before, I plan on going.
If I'm not volunteering in some way or another, any team wanna adopt me? :) If not, I'll have to be part of the ref's team, and I'll have to throw random flags. lol I'll keep it fair, and only throw flags at people I know though. :p *cough* Corey, Ashley, Conor, Harry, Marc, and others..*cough* |

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Wow, the first day just ended and I can't say enough good things about the event. The organization is awesome, everything is running smoothly, problems with the field are minimal. I love how we are able to we are able to walk around the field and talk to people. The teams are looking pretty good too, the 14 rookies are competitive and all the veterans are bringing a pretty good game.
The most intresting match of the day to watch was probably the practise match where 69, 121, and 233 all were on the same alliance. For those of you that aren't familiar with the robots they all have a similar design (round spiral) well the bus is moving and i have to wait for internet again |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
So now that it is under way and the webcast is up here are few teams that are standing out to me.
121 - Nice shooter. 233 - What are the using so they don't get shoved around when they shoot. 1685 - Good defense |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Watching the Webcast here in Enfield (I'm sick) team 233 looks awesome! Numbers seem to come up quickly here, don't they? I've seen a bunch of Teams up more than once in the last 30 mins.
Good luck to 839 (Go Hamilton SundStrand!) :) |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
hiya from boston! all of the teams are looking awesome, especially 121 and 233. who knew field reset would be such amazing fun! if you plan on going down just for tomorrow, yell hello! i'll probably end up distributing medals during awards...and i'll be 18! free hugs to anyone who says happy birthday!
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Sorry I forgot to update, but heres my update after day 2. The competition is running really smooth, not many bumps, this really is a great regional and all the time they spent organizing it is really paying off.
Teams that have been impressive (in numerical order)
PS- The sundial network is awesome, if you have the means set one up at your regional, it really is handy. |

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Fire at Boston Regional???
Anyone watching the webcast? |
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Does anyone know what's happening? I just tuned in to the webcast to hear the announcers telling everyone to leave the building. Is there a fire somewhere?
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Seems like a fire alarm. Reminds me of a similar occurance at 2006 FLR. Someone probably opened an alarmed door.

|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
YAY, I hear people, let's get these finals rolling. good luck teams.
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Alarm is off and it sounds like people are re-entering.
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Yeah, I can hear the alarms going off. It's so quiet though, even with the alarm system going off. I'm so glad this didn't happen at VCU this year.

If 578 didn't get the ramp they would have lost by 1 point! amazing! |

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
In that first semi-final match where 233 lost, i think its because one of the opposing alliance robots successfully blocked 233 AND 121 in autonomous mode.
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
233 is too easily defended (even in regular mode), and they continue to miss many balls at a time by being off. Either way, the finals will be hair raising!!!
|
Re: 2006 Boston Regional
does anyone else not have any sound for the NASA webcast of the boston regional>?

Re: 2006 Boston Regional
Congrats Winner : 1. 121,233,1568
It was really fun to watch, now only if i can get the team i will be on next year to go! |
