Very good. Especially when you get some links rolling!;)

Looks pretty nice, there is horizontal scrolling on this computer though. (800 x 600, WinXP SP2, IE6.0) Also, I'm not sure how fast it would load on dial up. Can't wait to see the rest of the website. :)

People use 800x600 still?

Anyway, nice site, even though the background doesn't completely fit too well (ivory around the page, and then a plain white background) on Firefox.

At school I'm forced into it. At home I use 1280 x 1024.

But yes, most people do still use 800x600 or 1024x768. (Source: http://www.gvu.gatech.edu/user_surve...ology/q128.htm), which is why it is important to make sure websites work on 800x600. Though allowing for 640x480 is just ridiculous.

Thanks for the critiques! The white space on the right is something we're still working on/doing later.

That linked survey is from 1998.

Nowadays, few will complain if a site doesn't support 800×600. Take this poll, for example. (It's technically ongoing, though it hasn't been front and centre in a while. Also, bear in mind that that's a technically-oriented site, and may not represent a cross-section of your targeted demographic.)

I'm not so sure about you guys, but my computer can change to 800×600 or some other modes, i can't remember. Right now its 1152 by 800 something.

Our old Mac OS9 ibook, which I use occasionally for photoshop (I don't have it on the newer computer), only has 800x600.

I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error for the URL http://www.anonobots-1190.com/anonobots-1190.com around 11PM EST:

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request...Please contact the server administrator...More information about this error may be available in the server error log...Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

OK, it was the first I could find. Sorry.

If its a technically oriented site it will be VERY skewed. But my point was that the majority of people still use 800x600 or 1024x768 (aka "small" resolutions). You should design for 800x600 still or (preferably) expanding layouts.

I haven't gotten any 500 errors, only 404s.

Also another suggestion I noticed - make the link to the FIRST website open a new window. :)

Now I can reach the main page without error.

I like that the layout doesn't feel like a rigid grid like most other websites, and that it's readable but not full of boring, solid colors.

My only complaints are that there are so many images that on dialup, everything appears one at a time and very slowly (and on firefox, the links on the leftdon't all become visible until five or ten seconds after firefox tells me that the page has finished loading), and, of course, the white space to the right and under the first page.

Yea, our server had some issues at about 9pm mountain time last night. But it should be running along fine perfectly by now. www.anonobots-1190.com

Re: Anonobots-1190

By the way, how would you modify the code to make it fit any resolution? I have a hunch that it has to do with the CSS, but I'm not so sure. Do you guys know?

Re: Anonobots-1190

There's different ways to do it, but the easiest would be to use percentages instead of pixels. So instead of saying "I want the page to be 760px wide", you would say "I want the page to be 92% wide". Or in code... width="80%", etc.
