Need Help Finding Servos
Does anyone know if there is a such thing as a HS-322s Servo because we only have HS-322-HD servos, was there a typo in the manual or is ther a such thing, and if there is, can you inform me where you can buy them. Thank you

Re: Need Help Finding Servos
Search www.towerhobbies.com for HS-322 All I see is -HD and my guess is that the "S" is for "standard" (a term referring to servos in the RC car world meaning low torque, standard size, low cost, and plastic gears)

Re: Need Help Finding Servos
Thanks and ill look, but the uestion is that we got the -HD servos in the kit and we were wondering if we can use them because in R43 in the manual it sand that we can only use -s servos, and the -hs's came in the kit, because if we went ahead and used them and in the compitition and they disqualify our robot.

Re: Need Help Finding Servos
On First website, the illustrated KOP shows SERVO-HS-322HD as the part number for the servo. (Servo 42 oz/in peak torque 0.19)

Re: Need Help Finding Servos
The HS-322S is no longer listed in the Hitec catalog, only the 322HD. The only difference between the two is that the 322s uses white nylon gears, while the 322HD uses a harder (but more brittle) plastic called "Karbonite", which resists wear much better but is more susceptible to breaking under shock loads.
As far as I can tell, the 322HD replaced the standard 322S. |
Re: Need Help Finding Servos
You also might want to try a CD Swap to see if any other teams have extra servos.

Re: Need Help Finding Servos
I believe IFI sells them for 10$ plus shipping.

Re: Need Help Finding Servos
I made a brief mention of this during a discussion with robot inspectors last year (was it a teleconference?); the HS-322HD (found in the last two kits), is the correct servo to be using. The number 33322S is the stock number of this servo (when using the Hitec/JR connector, which fits the robot controller)—maybe that's where the "S" comes from. FIRST never did get around to fixing the documentation last year, or this year, it seems.
Notify FIRST through the Q&A, with the relevant links to Hitec's page, showing the correct information. (Here, here and here.) |
Re: Need Help Finding Servos
I went through the same last year. (You may want to reference here)
After sending an e-mail to FIRST I recieved an answer that The company just merged the part numbers and you can use the HD or the S servo because they have identical specs. I still have the documentation of the e-mail. If you would like a copy of it just contact me VIA PM or E-Mail (Gamer930 at gmail). |
Re: Need Help Finding Servos
Sweet deal, that means I can tell the local Hobby Shop guy to put me up for a few more :-D.
