Your missing a key element to that sentence. Through my experienc e a robot is only done when you put it in the crate to ship it HOME!!

Every year my team has made a number of modifications on the practice day, and even right up until just before the final match. So I don't think the robot is ever finished until the competition is done.

i would reccomend other than foil. it may be illegal from the interfering with other robot's camera rule.

the builders say they need like.... 1-3 more days and they're done. This is kinda creepy since they always finish when they say they will. When the other programmer and I heard this, we got this evil look in our eyes and began writing our top-secret code... (we were already pretty much finished coding, but then we got this idea....)

Team 1712's robot is pretty much done on the mechanical side. We still need to mount the electronics and do a little more tweaking once we test a few things out, but It's been a pretty smooth process so far... except for that day were we changed the chassis design about 3 times...

Re: Who has a finished robot?

Our team is getting there. Designs are finalised (they'd better be, or we'll start forcing them to build things), and we have all the pieces to put it together at least partially assembled. Mechanical says we should have a drivable robot by the end of Monday or Tuesday, they might even have the shooter mounted on the rotator by Wednesday.

Electrical is almost done with the electrical board on the robot, and now that the frame has finally been finished for the control board are putting that together. There's a few sensors that need to be mounted, but the shooter has to be on the robot first.

Programming is basically finished with all manual controls. The next 2 weeks will be spent writing autonomous functions and fixing all the errors we find in the manual control.

Re: Who has a finished robot?

1023 is probably around 85-90% done mechanically and definitely fine weight wise :) We've driven our robot and everything already as well (did that on Monday or Tuesday).

Rick,

You forced my hand. See the picture galleries for 39 climbing the ramp. We are tethered but moving at this point.

Re: Who has a finished robot?

Man..... Our team doesn't have a finished robot, our programming is still working on autonomous mode and mechanical team is currently working to make the robot a 'robot'. But we are still going and making progress..

*I think*
