Looking for sponsors...
 

Our team is currently in need for sponsors but we don't really know how to get companies to sponsor us. Does anyone have a good idea of how to attract sponsors (Like writing letters/sending emails/calling big companies...?)

We will really appreciate your advise/suggestion

Jess Boucher created a pretty awesome packet that you can use to get sponsors. It can be found here. Phone calls also work, be sure to play on whatever part of your "intro to FIRST" they seem most interested in. If they say that they aren't interested or able to help out, thank them and try the next one. Good luck!

It helps if you have some connection to a company, like a parent, mentor, etc.

Another thing you may want to think about is asking for services instead of money. One of our sponsors in a machine shop and they do all of our machining for free, or they'll let students come in and do it... This comes in very handy. Another one of our sponsors is a print shop and they do all of our printing, engraving, shirts, stickers and decals either at cost or for free.

Finally, stay local. You'd be surprised how many local companies want to help out.
