Excellence in wiring - post your pics
I'd like to recognize the teams who take the time, care, and effort to have neat, organized electrical systems, layouts, and wiring. If you have picture of excellent wiring (whether it is your robot or not) please post it here. If we see some examples of this beautiful wiring, maybe it will encourage the rest of us to strive for such a degree of excellence! :)
EDIT: I'm looking for pictures like Cory and Tom posted. Neat, organized, and carefully done. |

I would like to sponser this thread. For I know that none of my control boards would win such a great honor. Although I prolly have a pic of my board my first year on the team laying somewhere around here...

Hey, isn't it illegal to not have the brain visible to the refs? Or maybe I'm just being stupid here :)

Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
Nice I like how compact it is, but Cody is right the brain must be visible during matches.

Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
Nice thread. For the last 2 years I've used pictures I've found here to try to show my students how good the electronics can look. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, something has come up in the middle of the build that takes the one or two people interested in electronics away from the team (last year--moving, this year--suspension) and leaves it up to me and anyone I can pull away from our structural team. Oh well, maybe next year.

It will be, we are going to flip it upside down and use spacers so that the face is out, we just haven't got to that yet. The 2005 is in there now, cause programming is using the 2006 on the 2005 robot. |

Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
What wiring do you guys actually use? Do you use the kit wiring, or something else? What would you reccomend? I hear there is some really nice flexible low resistance stuff out there...

I'm curious, what's that box next to the RC? |
Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
That picture was actually from the 2005 build season, but that box was our "autonomous box" that we used to select what autonomous mode we wanted to use.
Heres a discussion about it along with a better picture... http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=33675 |

Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
Last year the Saturday before ship our mechanical arm broke and needed more support, since the electrical panel was right under it the support for it would have gone right through the power distribution panel. This said the whole panel which had been wired and organized was split in two and re-wired in less then 24 hours for a mini regional which our school hosts.
Hopefully this year by not wiring it before all the mechanical is done this problem will be avoided. Of course there will be something else that will pop up, but we can only plan for so much. |

Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
This is Cyber Blue 234's newly named Fiesta electronics board. Can't you tell it was designed by 4 girls? :yikes:

Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
![]() :D Just thought I'd post our favorite part of the board. teeheehee ;) |
Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
heres ours... Team 612. WE decided to use double side board because of the actual design. We planned about using a box or something like that, but it was not matching up with the design would've been harder to install. We are planning to mount it on the side and protect it with lex-an or plexus glass. So everyone out there.....try not to crash into out electrical board....hahaha... |
Re: Excellence in wiring - post your pics
We win.
Team 1093's drawer board. It slides in and out on drawer rollers and connects and disconnects itself. Good for easy access to electronics. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pi...&quiet=Verbose |

After many hard hours of bending, crimping and stripping wire:
