Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

Ours weighs in at 68lbs so far.

Plenty of room to grow, but more than likely some speed holes will be happening in week 6 no doubt.

It wouldn't be a true 237 robot without speed holes.

How is everyone holding up with weight?

i agree about the speed holes 1323 hasn't had a robot without speed holes yet but its kinda hard to say how much ours currently ways seeing as we are waiting on some t-slot aluminum

Without any holes we weigh in at a whopping 86 lbs! :ahh:

48lbs, Looking good to us

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

102, but that is with most of the functionality already intact.

As usual, we expect to be right at the limit (though not too far over, as only a couple of mechanisms still need to be added).

Do you already have your mechanisms installed? I can't imagine a TRC robot being close to overweight, especially given your efficient chassis design.

I think we are at about 62 pounds with motors, sprockets, and chains, but without electronics and game mechanisms.

We are using the same kind of wheels as 492 this year -- we're hoping some of that Titan magic will rub off on us...

Ah.. heh... about that...

We haven't started building our final robot yet...

I can't believe how far behind we are....

1.7 lbs. We haven't started building the real thing yet.

Sounds like us. LOL
Actually we have a proto-type rolling chassis that ways about 60-65lbs. Our wheels alone wiegh almost 5lbs each!!!

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

Hmmm...

We have nothing assembled as of yet due to a hang up getting funds from our BOE to pay for parts. So far, we have 1 6" shaft (5 more coming) and 12 pillow blocks. In total, our bot weighs two pounds based on our materials.

EDIT: Forgot, our two cylinders came in. The system weighs all of 5 pounds.

hehe Rick, we have everything but our hopper and the front loader, that includes battery and everything else. But we are always "close" to being overweight. If we are not we add more weight at the base.

And Rick, check your PMs! :)

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

right now our chassis is pretty much done, weighing in at about 10-15lbs. Our drivetrain is almost finished, we are currently in the process of making our wheels which will be finished by hopefully in the next couple of days. Right now our drive train is gonna be around 25-30 lbs. As far as our "other" things on our robot we dont have a weight for those things yet but hopefully by the end of the week we can get a general idea.

Yea, we're at the same place

our drivetrain weighs 52 Lbs, is that a lot for a drivetrain? (fully functional drivetrain)

Overall I think we are at about 75, without electronics or shooter.. I think we will manage though.

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

I dont know officially how much weighs, but I know that with the full drive train, wheels and electronics, I can still pick it up. Therefore it must not be too heavy :-p

That's how I used to do it too. Then I started hitting the gym - picked up the robot in build the next season and said "oh, we're fine."

It was 17 lbs over :D Too bad there's no jacked up smiley...

I think we are sitting at 25 lbs right now.

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

we've got...um...like 5 lbs, but that's because we just have one part of the frame bolted together. we calculated the motors, frame, polycarb, sprockets, compressor, transmissions and pistons to weight about 50 lbs. no calcs on the chain or the electronics yet.

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

With actual weighs on most of the heavier items, our projected weight right now is 94 pounds. That includes 4 CIM motors, 2 Big CIMs, and the compressor.

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

This year we'll probably be underweight by 10 pounds or more so we'll have to come up with other devices to add to it :D :D :D

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

So far we are ahead of schedule compared to previous years. Our chassis weighs in at about 52 pounds, complete with gearboxes, motors, sprockets, chains - less electronics. I am sure we will be putting in a lot of speed holes during week six.

Our drivetrain with wheels, frame, and gearboxes, and maybe with electronics mounted on a temporary 1/2" piece of plywood the whole width and length of the bot and battery weighed in at 48 lbs.

Our upper frame part so far has only brought that number up 20 lbs. We are around 70 now, but that will fluctuate a lot from now until the end of the week.

We are doing good, but the upper part is far from complete. It'll happen though.

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

At the moment our robot weighs about 90 lbs and we dont have much to add, just a few more things for reinforcement and such, we should have some weight space.

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

ours weighs about 60 pounds right now without the battery... because all we have on it are mock up parts

Re: Halfway through build: How much does your robot weigh?

week 3: 60lbs.
