I really am not the video editing guy. i do MAX stuff, then give the video and sound to Dave to compile. he's got all the crazy fix-stuff programs.

Yes bad captin! very bad! never mention WMM2!

never had problems with it, and yes, i said that it does not support the right formats.

honestly, i never really got why everyone avoids windows stuff like the plague. i know it's not the best, but it work for the stuff most people do. IMO.

now, i think there are more than one format that max accepts, i only know this from experience 3 days ago, i have converted my soundtrack for my animation more than 50 times with adobe audition to get it to work in my for animation per bit.

Google for more info- thats what i do!!!!!

our school blocked our ablitly to check the property summary...

they block everything, cant even bring up task manger or use the search to find ur files on the computer

hmm... y don't u use http://www.goldwave.com/release426.php - its an old version freely available as far as i know except their new versions. it works as audition and can do the conversion job for u easily if u don't want to learn it. - file save - and select the pcm format and ur done in sec.

It sounds like these are your options -

Deal with the school IT situation and get the software you need. I've dealt with it before and it's not fun but sometimes it is what you have to do. Stress the importance of this and the time restrictions as well.

Or

Try and do the audio portion on a home computer. I'd try and follow the advice of a few people here, sounds like you can use the pcm format.

I would try the second option. Surely someone has a PC on your team that can handle that. It's crunch time so do what you got to do to get it done.

Re: HELP! (Putting music in the animation)

This should probably be another thread....but I can't get max to render with sound. I am using video post got my video sequenced and rendered nicley then I "added exteral event" for each of the sound tracks...imported them (they show up as windows icons with the names I gave them) ....and they are wave files. I added an external event and rendered but the rendering stops as soon as the wav file starts in the sequence. There is so little option in video post that it is quite annoying. I've used Premier in the past and this was no problem but now with the new compression requirements, I've been getting really blurry outputs but they had sound.
To avoid having to do all the post production stuff from scratch I used the completely edited scenes from premier and exported them to video post as a series of targa files. I then rendered them in max in the required format and they came out nice. But now sound is the issue. I guess I just can remember how to add sound tracks in video post and get them to render with the video. Today's pretty much it for us...if anyone can help? Really desperate
