Re: Sniglets
Forgot to make Sniglets for this year.
Overruled - The act of ruining a perfectly good game by smothering it under an avalanche of rules. T-Rex Toss - one of the methods human player used in 2014 to avoid the dreaded G40 penalty by pinning their arms to their sides to avoid getting the penalty. Anchor Teams - Bad teams that drag good teams down to the bottom of the standings with them. Their acts even more pronounced in 2014. |
Re: Sniglets
The Noodle Incident- The falling out between two FIRST teams over breaking the Noodle Agreement.
|
Re: Sniglets
SeperatitionCompeting in the 2015 game on separate ends of the field without ever really competing against one another.
|
Re: Sniglets
Stack AttackWhen a full stack of totes tumble over onto a robot trying to place it atop the scoring platform.
|
Re: Sniglets
CADastrophy - When you accidentally lean on ALT-F4 after hours of CADding without saving.
Refresh-Binding - The act of binding the window refresh key to your space bar so you don't have to move your mouse all the way to the on-screen refresh button to check Chief Delphi for ninetieth time that nanosecond. |
Re: Sniglets
CROWDSOURCING: When two dozen "helpful" cd users tell you how horrible your idea or design is, no matter how well it performed in competition.

Re: Sniglets
A few 2015 specific sniglets:
Litterancy: The delay in your charter bus schedule because your human player missed the 2:30 a.m. departure time for St. Louis. Invertottis: when your driver decides to spend five seconds flipping a tote just because he can. Kilograhams: the appropriate unit of measure to determine if a robot has an appropriate crust to be cheese-caked. Recycle Rash - carpet burns you got when your robot spontaneously went into auto and knocked you down after grabbing two RCs. Partly Cloudy with a chance of noodles - the climate on the 2015 field. Rammin' Noodle - a piece of litter which disables an opposing alliance's robot mechanism, prevents a score (or causes a descore), or sails over a defensive net into scoring territory. And a few 2015 terms that we'll never forget: Canburglar: a mechanism that reaches over the landfill to get RCs from the step, esp. if it works in autonomous. Chute Door: Yes, Chute Door Mine: to pick up totes from the landfill or step. Nobot - a component which has no electrical or other moving parts and is connected to the main robot by a tether. Sailbot: One of the many robots shaped like a triangular sail when viewed from the side. Tetherbot:- a robot with to or more "hulls" connected by a tether. |
Re: Sniglets
For FIRST Steamworks we have:
Ball Dumbing - the futile act of dumping balls in the low efficiency boiler during autonomous. Gear Punks - Alternative title for Pilots who don't actually fly anything but finish constructing the airship while i's sitting on the pad so it can be ready for takeoff not too different to what teams use Thursday at regionals for... Chuck n' Cheesin'- The scorched earth defensive strategy of releasing all the hoppers immediately so robots that acquire many balls at once can no longer do so while simultaneously slowing down robots cycling back and forth with gears by turning the field into a virtual ball pit. |
Re: Sniglets
Steamacrit: One who complains about non-working gears being used while coating a NERF gun with paint and calling it a railgun.
|
Re: Sniglets
Greaseophile: An airship player that drops the gears so often that they might as well be made out of lube.
