Looks nice, but due to the nature of the compitition this year (hitting is allowed) that design seems EXTREMELY prone to being tipped.

I want to make a monocoque chassis from a plywood core and laminated glass/epoxy skins (cause I've built boats like that, but I don't know from rivets). Alas, my teammates are transfixed by aluminum structures, and all I can do is dream of the organic shapes that might have been. Is it bad to think of starting a new FIRST team just to have more influence over the materials and methods selection process?

Ooo. Pretty...

I'd show you a picture of our robot with all of it's parts on... if I had one.

They parts are all on, but none of them do anything :) We frantically put it together before Unveiling last night so we would have more than just a driving chassis.

Incidental contact is allowed. Intentional ramming is not! :ahh: The monocoque design is very light weight when you use .040" aluminum.
There are going to be allot of bots with a high COG this year.
We practiced going up the ramp, a couple of days ago, with the battery in the middle of the bot. It went up the ramp on it's back four wheels. Didn't tip over. We plan on having the battery towards the front to get the front two wheels on the ramp.
