valentines day

:yikes: what is every one doing on valentines day I'm just thinking of what kind of pranks to pull on people ( team mates) at competition.

We worked on the Robot what else?

One of our student leaders had the card she made today. Here's a picture of it.

School for 7 hours (two of which I spent working on our robot) then 5 more hours of working on our robot.

Re: valentines day

I'm currently finishing homework that I'd been procrastinating on for a while.

I'll be honest - I went out to dinner with a good friend at a Chinese buffet. No romance, but I had never gone out for dinner on V-day, so who knows.

I recieved a fortune cookie that didn't have a fortune slip in it. I guess that either means I write my own future, or I die.

Sitting here very frustrated...

Classes in the morning, then robotics... worked on the robot, cut myself at few places, came home, studying for an exam tommorrow which I am not ready for, and yea... it just goes on.

Re: valentines day

I spent two and a half hours in biology lab measuring different dyes as they osmosed through gel at different temperatures and other amazing acts of diffusion, luckily none requiring the torture of small creatures as last week's lab did. And after lab ended, I had two hours to shop for V-day presents, which I have to say, I did a great job picking out really cool, fun gifts in such a short time. When I got home we exchanged gifts. His plans were to order out for dinner and then watch a movie... my plans were to go to robotics. So I ate a quick dinner (egg salad sandwich, darn you team, I gave up Chinese food for you tonight!) and rushed off to the robotics meeting, promising to be home early so that we could at least make an effort at a nice, romantic evening. I took some chocolate for the kids and mentors, and snapped some photos, touched base with some of the kids, and snuck off for home. Got home to find a message from my biology teacher swearing I wasn't in trouble but that she had a question for me about her notes from the last lecture (oddly, I have yet to remain anonymous in any of my classes) and after I called her back, we (me and him, not me and my biology teacher) sat down and watched The Corpse Bride (present to me, ironic for V-day, no?). Ah well, overall, I think it was a good V-day.

Re: valentines day

Let's see...

0800: Awake.
0845: Moving car to the Coliseum lot to avoid getting a ticket for being at a meter. (The meters start at 0900.)
0855: There's no space in my usual lot, so I park at the one next to it.
0915: On the Carolina Shuttle to the BA building for my first class. Marvin Gaye is playing on the bus radio. A football player from USC (judging by his Independence Bowl hoodie and general large size) is making jokes.
0930: Class.
1030: Pop quiz. Whee.
1100: Lunch time. Burger King.
1130: Obligatory check of Delphi/email/etc.
1215: Print off the paper I needed for...
1230: Hand in assignment for GEOG 333, then a test.
1315: Finish the test, bum around the BA building, upload FVC Orangeburg pics to Delphi.
1400: Class number three
1510: Class ends, I go up to the shuttle stop to get a ride to the Coliseum.
1530: The shuttle finally shows up. (I know what you're thinking--get off your butt and walk, Billfred!--but look at the map. There's no way I'm walking the entire width of campus.)
1550: After an obscenely long delay at the Greek Village stop (traffic), I get off the shuttle and into my car.
1600: Robotics starts at Irmo High School. I'm somewhere on I-26.
1610: With a slight scrape of the undercarriage on this funky drainage setup nearby, I arrive at Irmo.
1630: First comment about my supposed emo status. (Lies, all lies.)
1631: First disapproving stare of the night
1830: I take home one of the freshmen and go back to USC.
1925: That same Coliseum lot is full again. I go to the other one again.
1930: There are two evening shuttles moving next to each other. I miss both of them. Feeling approximately beat, I walk back up to Preston, dump my bags, and get dinner.

That's about the excitement of the day. To quote a former 1293 driver, "meh."

My boyfriend took me out for "Valentine's Day Lunch" because we both mentor #857 and couldn't skip last night's meeting for the romantic dinner and a movie we had planned. We'll catch a movie together after ship.

I say we start a petition to move Valentine's Day to sometime not during the Build! ;)

For Valentines day...I went to work then went to dinner with my family, my boyfriend, and his family. There were like 15 of us or something! Not exactly a romantic dinner for two, but a lot of fun!

I worked a crazy day, and then went to an even more crazy robotics meeting, and then got some chocolate and a card from my family.

All in all it was a normal (crazy) day for me. (minus the chocolate and card.). lol
