FIRST dates for 2002

This may have been answered but..how exactly did whoever made that count-down thing know when Kick-off is? And when does FIRST release the dates for the next season? I know they release them soon here, but wasn't exactly sure when. Any info on this would be helpful for making calendars and planning and all that. Thanks

i think he put the kickoff date as a guestimate from the past years. thats about the time it usually falls

Carolyn Duncan 30-07-2001 17:19

I seem to think that kick off is always the first Saturday of January. THat may not be true but for some reason that sicks out in my brain.

???

Just a guess.....

I thought it was always sometime around the first Saturday in January....

Well, I was a rookie last year so I didn't want to say something definite and have many people informing me of my error.

Jessica Boucher 31-07-2001 06:41

From my past experience, Kickoff is always the first Saturday in January, unless that Saturday is New Years Eve/Day.

Also, from what I remember, the dates for the season should be released sometime in Sept-October.

Have a good one

it looks like Jess's past experience is the same as mine :)

Thanks all..I really should remember from past years, but the school year usually goes by as a blur to me anyway. Oh well.

In 1999 Kickoff was on 1/9/99, because New Years Day fell on a friday.

mike o'leary 01-08-2001 21:02

as i said...unless thats close to new years. im gonna say that its if new years is within 3 days, but thats pretty much off the top of my head.

Jessica Boucher 02-08-2001 06:30

Ohhh, ok, I get what youre saying. I thought you meant January 2nd, not the 2nd weekend in January.
