Denmark FIRST team...

So... I'm traveling to Denmark as a foreign exchange student next year. I want to start a FIRST team at the high school I'll be at (LEGO is based there-- possible sponsorship??) I know there is an England team but is there any precedent for teams in other European countries? I don't find out what high school I'm going to for a couple weeks, so I can't do anything concrete yet--but do you guys think this is feasible? any problems (well airfare, but, other than that? anyone else out there started a FIRST team all by themselves?

WOW!!

SOUNDS LIKE A TASK!
Tell you wat, if u pull this off than i will have to give u a lot of credit!
i've heard of starting a new team in a USA school, and that was outragious for one person to do..... Denmark, well that is just mindbogoling! But i guess it could be done, just brushup on your salesmanship skills and you should be ok.!... cause u have got a lot of robotic selling to do!

Talk to Phil!

He wants to start a team in Germany. By the way, there's a very big thread about it, you should read it.

Now you will feel how it's like to work with the metric system in FIRST! ;)

hmm, it seems like a good person to ask would be who ever started the brazilian teams, i'm sure they had a nice time accomplishing that task

Digo 18-05-2002 18:27

Sure!
Feel free to ask everything you want to. We have experience in long distance FIRST. ;)
My e-mail address is digocr@hotmail.com and if I can't answer what you want I'll forward to someone else in the team.
Helping other international team would be a pleasure. :)

This is the "Phil" that Digo was referring to. I'm here in the U.S. as an exchagne student from Germany right now and I'l try to start a team back in Germany as soon as I go home this summer!

If you want to tlak to me, messgae me here in chiefdelphi, write posts and hope that I find them ;-) or email me (psycho.phil@gmx.de)!

The thread about me starting the german team is

There's some interesting stuff in it I think, have a look at it...

There is already one in the works

One of our former team members, from last year, was a danish exchange student. He liked it so much he is already pursuing a team there.

don't be lazy!

Come on buddy!

Give the guy who started the thread the email address from the Danish exchange student. Founding a team is difficult enough, help out where you can, find out his address or email-address and post it or inform the guy who goes over next year!

And if anybody got more feedback for my german team, PLEASE email me, post me or write it in the thread. The address for it is somewhere higher up in this thread!!!!

Phil

If any of you have the email address of the person who is also planning to start a Danish team it would be a huge help! Also (I already have Phil's and Digo's emails and plan to email them some questions when I'm not so tired and sunburned)

I'm not sure of the kid from Denmarks e-mail but I know his s/n, his name is Andreas and he has been working for the past year to start a team in Denmark, send me a pm and I'll give you his s/n and try to find out his e-mail for you if you are interested!
