Death of Robot

1 Attachment(s)
I am sorry to say that THE CLAW has died. He was born in January of 2000. He did a horrible death on May 17, 2002. He was a good robot that picked up balls and placed them in the goals for the 2000 competition. He was taken apart to make room and to make drivetrains for testing purposes, also for the electronics. Here is a picture of The CLAW

Pity

As a rookie team we don't have any old robots. So the ARC will stay intact and around for some time to come. We will be showing it off for a while and using it to help us convince more companies to give us money for next year.

we have this years and last years robots in perfect working condition and they won't be taken appart, last years was a regional winner and this years is just too awesome to take appart. we do however have our 1999 and 2000 robots still together, they just don't move anymore and have no electronics : )

Gizzie....

We finally got rid of our rookie robot from 1999 after this year's came back, there was no room for him, and all the useful pieces had been taken off, bye Gizmo!!

We still have last years robots in tact, and 2000's robot modified to play this years game. We also have the 2 from this year. We can have a little match against our own robots if we wanted to.

The '99 robot is still intact? I thought we cannibalized it for that 2000 disaster :)

...and why, oh why, would you keep that monstrosity from 2000 around? It was held together with wire ties!

We have 1.0 in our shop, but mothballs it will go after this year, the we tested the 3.0 code on it.

Rob Colatutto 19-05-2002 22:44

lol, mike, you were on sachem in 99 and 2000? wow, i feel bad for you, the 99 robot is still together actually...one day we got bored so we took all the pnumatics off of it and the claw and were chasing the freshman around with it

MBiddy 21-05-2002 17:28

Our 2000 Robot is in pieces due to some expierementations that we did for our autobalance software last year and then this year we let a rookie team borrow it and mess with it, well we got it back and its in pieces...We have 92,93,94? or (95) (one of those two "vanished") 96-98, 99's was disasembled and we took the TKO arm and modifyed it into an arm for a community service project, and other than that we have all our bots...

Anyway, how did "the claw" die?
