Loud Music/Lots-o-Bass

Ok, my friend and i just got some new speakers (4.1 surround w/subwoofer).

My question is: What songs out there (since all u guys have thousands of MP3's) are good for playing loud because they are either known for that or they have a lot of bass in them?

:)

You should download the "Ultimate Bass Test" by THX. I am sure that should satisfy your bass needs. I always like turning up Primus because you can hear the bass more than any other instrument.

bassiness

Sublime has extremely good bass in all their songs. This is gonna seem weird, but try River of Dreams by Billy Joel and put the bass up all the way.

Incubus is good for bass - Vitamin, Redifine, Certain Shade of Green. Battlestar Scralatchtica is also a good Incubus bass-song. Eve6 - On the Roof also has some bass and power behind it. AFI's Days of the Phoenix isn't very bassy, but strong bass would accent the drums and make it uber-awesome. Actually, speaking about drums, you could try Godsmack's (I think it's called) Voodoo. If I remember, that song is all bass practically. Oh, and who can forget Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit. Strong bass on that one would really make it sound great!

But something that you HAVE to try if you're looking for bass is the punk/ska cover of the Pink Panther Theme. The entire melody is the bassline. Add some punk to it, and it's gotta sound awesome on a 4.1 system.

Enjoy your system!

Dah, how could I forget! The entire Blue Man Group - Audio album. Man, that album is nothing BUT bass-full drumming and it's all awesome. You could try downloading Blue Man Group - Drumbone, but I'd recomend you go for the entire album.

After looking through some of my MP3s, I found Satellite by POD. It has a pretty constant bass line that vibrates my bathroom mirror (2 rooms away) like mad :) heh - on an aiwa 5.2 here....

edit: that's the song "Satellite" -- which is also the title of the album

Green Day - Welcome To Paradise

Assuming you don't have a specific genre preference? Here is a list :D

Hoobastank - Crawling in the Dark
Chad Kroeger - Hero (spiderman soundtrack)
Boomfunk MC's - Freestyler
Alien Ant Farm - Movies
Goldfinger - Carry On
Green Day - Minority
Incubus - Drive
Incubus - Circles
Leann Rimes - Can't Fight the Moonlight (dance remix)
Matthew Good Band - Carmelina
Nickelback - How You Remind Me
Nickelback - Too Bad
Powerman 5000 - Standing 8

If you're going to download any of those songs for good bass, download the Powerman 5000 song. You'll understand once you hear it ;)

Btw I have 4.1's, they're awesome... too bad I'm too poor to get 5.1's :(
